My family was told that we could use our vet of fifteen years and were given an additional form of approval to this fact. I was shocked at the state of this animal upon delivery to us in a parking lot. Very little care had obviously been given to Ellie. Starved and bony, full of worms. The website made is sound like she was good with other animals. It was clear that this dog had never even been fostered so this was a lie. Her age and the fact that she had had at least two litters of pups was clearly apparent and confirmed by our vet. She had a well healed scar from either a c-section and hysterectomy that was well healed to the point that the permanent non dissolvable sutures in her belly were trying to go inward and was a clear proof that she had not been checked at length if at all. This poor dog was so happy to play that she nearly breaks fingers with her bites, does not take to animals very quickly but once again how would they know these things when they drive from Texas from a kill shelter in crates. Well we were still willing to give this dog a life long home even with her issues and the lies we were told but it is not to be. Mattys heart and soul will be coming to take this animal away because the director here in Minnesota who is not a vet will not listen to our vet and honor their contract with us. We did all the tests and performed these at our vet per our contract. Know the director is angry because we feel wronged and literally said well "now I don't trust your vet" because I called out the fraud and their willingness to tell us we have to drive hours to a different vet and subject the dog to more needles tests and antibiotics that a blood test and slide Cleary showed antibodies and no disease meaning the dog was exposed and does not require meds because it already fought off the disease. They are coming to take this animal and subject her to more heart break and the loss of a great life home even after offered to keep her and pay the adopt fee as was agreed. They are causing more abuse to this animal instead of honoring their agreement over this. Had me and my wife read and done a little more homework we would have declined to have anything to do with Mattysheart and soul animal rescue they are not as advertised be ware. You will be spending more money then advertised and forced to do as they say even if told otherwise. I would not be surprise if they change her story on their site. Take a look at what this organization is so willing to take her out of and why and ask yourself if you would be their customer.

I contacted the rescue that had adopted the dog out and instead of concern for the dog, I was met with a strange response-they only take back behaviorally perfect dogs and they don't take dogs back if they have moved out of state. I only agreed to take the dog in temporarily and now the dog will be euthanized because this retail rescue feels no responsibility towards the dogs it adopts out. Im really shocked as the ethical breeders Ive purchased my dogs from will take their dogs back at any time for any reason. I really expected this rescue to show more concern for the dog.

A few days later we got approved, and we told that they were waiting to hear back from the foster for more information about her and to schedule a time to meet. We were very excited to meet her and have a new addition to our family. We didn't hear anything for a week and then she was removed from the website. I had to reach out and ask what was going on as there was no communication. Turns out that AFTER we were told we could adopt her, the foster decided to keep her. While I'm glad the she found her forever home, it was very heartbreaking, such a letdown and a giant waste of time. This experience definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

We filled out their application with their fee. Every thing was going great, we pass all of their regulations all the way to the home visit. At this point we are exited to get our congratulations letter letting us finish our rescue. Instead we get a rejection letter because our dog is not fixed. He is our hunting dog and we have been talking with his breeder about the possibility of studding him because he has great health and natural hunting abilities. Naturally, we where devastated at the news and emailed them asking why we where lead to believe every thing was good until they weren't. Their response was sorry we over looked your application. I suggest looking else where because this company isn't what they say they are!! Their fix policy is a joke, I guess we will just go with a breeder.

Wow, what a wonderful shelter!!!…read more Rather than being in sad cages, all the cats are in rooms - some with other cats if they get along or need some socialization (and some alone if they are divas!) The rooms are all SUPER clean with lots of beds, perches, toys, litterboxes, etc. and the cats all looked very well cared for. They all got turns to come out of the rooms and explore the hallways for a while. The staff were great and very friendly. They knew a lot about the cats and who might be a good fit for the adopter - making sure that every kitty goes to a home that will let them thrive the most. If you are looking for a cat this is 100% a shelter you need to visit. You have to make an appointment but you will most likely have the place to yourself to get to know the cats. Well worth the extra bit of effort (we had recently gone to an adoption event at another shelter and it was so busy and most of the cats were off in "visiting rooms" so you couldn't meet them very well.

I have a special place in my heart for CFC…read more Visiting animal shelters can honestly be depressing, but I used to volunteer here in college and it is the most well-run no-kill shelter I've seen; the cats are living VERY comfortably. Rather than keeping the cats in kennels or cages, the cats can free roam within rooms that are specific to their personality type or medical conditions. There's a big main room for the social cats and kittens, another room for cats that are shy, a third room for cats with dietary restrictions/food sensitivities, and a fourth for kitties who are FeLV positive. The rooms have windows and beds and space for them to move around, which is so nice to see! This is a nonprofit no-kill shelter in a fairly small town so because they are volunteer based, they don't have long daily visiting hours. However you can rest assured that the cats get plenty of socialization and attention. These are very happy, very loved cats :) Staff here are also very active on social media so check out the Caring For Cats Facebook page to see all of the cats and their stories, to donate, or to participate in their fundraising events! Lori was confirmed that she could help us out. She recommended a two week stay to begin with. A third week was necessary to continue addressing Josie's aggressive behavior. Josie was abused by men and had to fight for food at the shelter in Cabo San Jose, Baja Mexico. Due to her past she was aggressive towards men, toys and very aggressive with food. During training Josie lived in a home with several other dogs and learned how to share food, toys and groom herself. Lori is a wonderful trainer and provided us with daily updates and photos. We met with Lori during the third week to see Josie's progress. Lori provided us with instructions to continue Josie's training using the terminology that was familiar. Following the three week training session Lori made a visit to our home. It was evident by how Josie reacted to Lori that they both adored and had great resected for each other. Brown Dog Training was the perfect match for us.

Nero had to be brought back since his skin condition worsened, more scabs and hair loss. We did not…read moreknow if it was allergies or a parasite so we were unable to see Dr. G, and saw another Vet there. She was not all that helpful, did a skin scrape and the test came back negative for parasites thank goodness. The one thing she did not do was run a backlight over Nero for ringworms/roundworms. Also she was unable to give other solution but to put him on antibiotics. Also we saw them within a week's time frame and they still charged us a fee even though we asked if its a follow up. Since the antibiotics failed to help his skin condition, we decided to take him to another vet instead that was able to fight the cells that was causing his skin to scab and lose hair. Will not be returning to Best Friends :(
