I'm not from New York, but had the pleasure of being tattooed at No Idols a few years ago now. I was there to see a guest artist that I had been following for some time. The studio was one of a kind! Incredibly well organized, clean, and a fantastic vibe. Gordo and I had the studio all to ourselves that day, which is not a normal day at the studio, so it was just us and the very sweet woman who works at the desk! We all had a great time hanging out all day, talking, and tattooing! All of the artists who are residents at this shop are some of the top tier in tattooing, without a doubt. I have not had the honor of being tattooed by them, yet. But, their reputation is undeniable. Great shop, great tattooists, best spot in the city to receive some quality art. 10/10 read more

I got my first tattoo over 30 years ago, and I got my second one a few weeks ago at No Idols. I stopped in on my nightly walk along Orchard, and met with Coco. She took my idea (vague and non-specific tiger or lion) and went home that night and drew up a custom design. It was better much better than I was hoping for. The whole process was super-easy, the folks in the place super-nice, and the tattoo is perfect! It's exactly the right design, the right size, and the right placement on my arm. And I had zero post-inking issues. I am 100% satisfied. I am thinking about getting another one, and I will definitely be back at No Idols! I absolutely recommend them, without reservation. As soon as you walk into No Idols you are greeted by an amazing staff. The environment is perfect, and the staff is amazing and very talented. Going in for my first tattoo which was completed by Jon could not have gone any better. Being my first tattoo, there was much research that was performed before choosing a shop and artist. When I walked into No Idols, I knew at the moment my search had concluded. I got a half sleeve that took about 21 hours to complete in 4 sittings. So some time was spent in the shop, and throughout my experience I never was nervous. It was a great experience and being in the shop for that time ALL the artists are extremely talented and professional. I would definitely recommend this shop. read more

Soooo, this was my second piece completed by Jon Mesa, who is now at No Idols Tattoo. This is a fairly new establishment with a cool space and layout, but my artist Jon is a veteran, and a superstar, in my opinion. His attention to detail and the calm and focus with which he addresses every piece, every client is very professional and easygoing. I haven't much to say about the staff, as I mostly dealt with the proprietor, Jon, but I got a good vibe from most and it was a very relaxed and friendly environment. Awesome tattoo shop & everyone was very cool & made me feel at home :) Matt Truiano is my tattoo artist and this was my 4th piece done by Matt and first at the No Idols shop. Amazing work and beyond happy once again with Matt's artistic skills, his attention to detail and listens to exactly what I'm looking for in my tattoo!!! Got my very first tattoo from Matt Truiano at No Idols. The design he created for me (which I saw when I arrived) is every bit as beautiful as I'd hoped for and the whole experience with him was wonderful. He was super cool about collaborating a bit on color and placement, made sure I was comfortable and was a cool person to spend the afternoon with while he worked. Real nice guy. The whole shop was very professional, yet chill and fun, a great atmosphere of people good at what they do who clearly love their jobs and clientele. What an amazing group of artists, so down to earth and chill! Every person at this shop brings their own special talents to produce the best, high quality tattoo work. The shop is filled with drawings, paintings and custom wood work all made by the artists at No Idols. There is no challenge too big or small for any of these amazing artists to tackle. Booked an appointment and put a deposit down a while back when planning my trip to NYC. When coming for my tattoo session I waited for over 1 hour to find out that the tattoo artist was not even in. Ended up asking for a refund and leaving. Since then, the artist has reached out and apologised for the inconvenience but explained the reason of her absence on the day. I much appreciated the thought, and felt the artist made it right. Will be giving the studio a second chance when back in town. Studio looked clean and very trendy. read more

Went to No Idols for my first tattoo without an appointment and had a great experience. Everyone was really cool and helpful. Really chill vibes with great music (hip hop) and beautiful art all over the place. All the artists were hard at work but their relaxed banter with one another created a really comfortable energy. Jon did incredible work on my tattoo, it came out even better than I had imagined it would. The detail is impeccable and I couldn't be happier with the result. Amazing tattoo shop, awesome decor with lots of art to look at for inspiration. Staff is also super duper friendly, chill, and laid back. My artist was very considerate during the session, making sure I was comfortable throughout the entire time even though it was less than 2 hours. They made me feel welcomed and they were all so polite and patient with my ideas. I went to Olivia for my first tattoo in January. Olivia was an awesome guide as we figured out sizing, placement, etc. She made me feel super confident in my decision and was honest about her thoughts as well (which I really appreciated. I went in thinking I'd go for red ink and she helped me realize that black would have more longevity and look cleaner). Just did my 1st session with Jon, his work was amazing. The place was very clean and organized. The staff was friendly and from what I saw they are all damn good artist . I originally went in for a smaller back piece but after seeing the what he came up with I wanted it larger . Came out almost full upper back for the 1st session and look great. Got a full day session with Jon about a month ago. That guy, crazy talented, funny as hell and best of all is great at what he does. All the lads there are super friendly and funny at the same time.
