First I would like to say if l could give more stars l would lets start with Jill the receptionist she is an absolute darling and greeted me with a lovely smile, I took my car there because l thought the motor to the power seat was out and oil change and a few other minor things such as inspection sticker so after l dropped it off late in the evening around 4.00pm by the next day I was told it wasn't the motor but only the car switch that needed to be replaced and l had a gash in the tired which was also replaced. With that said l am going to be a costumer from this day fourth because they could of easily said l needed to replace one of the seats motors and that is why they have my business from now on. As a lot of you know most of the time when we take our car to be looked at we get jipped a lot well that has been my experience dealing with a certain dealership beginning with F and the last letter ending in D. This was one of the best professional honest mechanic l have ever come across in the 30 yrs i've been driving. I don't usually leave reviews but l felt like l had to as they are one of the few places around today that are honest and not greedy like most. This was my first experience with this shop. I brought my truck in for three things: an oil change, a state inspection, and a windshield washer fluid hose repair. All three items were completed, so this isn't a review claiming that nothing was done. My concern is with the quality of the service and the follow-up afterward. During the inspection, I was told my truck needed a new engine air filter. The problem is that I had recently installed a high-quality reusable K&N filter. That recommendation immediately made me question how carefully it had actually been inspected. During the oil change, I noticed I was being charged several dollars more per quart of oil than the nearby auto parts store charged. To their credit, after I questioned it, they adjusted the bill. However, I shouldn't have had to catch that myself. In addition, when I left the shop, the "Check Oil" maintenance reminder had not been reset. My biggest concern involved the windshield washer hose repair. I was originally charged a diagnostic fee for what turned out to be a straightforward repair. After I questioned it, the charge wasn't removed--it was simply reclassified as labor. Before leaving, I asked exactly what had been done to repair the hose. This is a known issue on my model truck, and simply reconnecting the hose often means it will separate again. A simple zip tie is a common preventive fix. I never received a clear explanation of what repair was actually performed. To be fair, I contacted the owner before posting this review. Ryan responded promptly to my first email, which I appreciated. I then sent a follow-up email on June 8 asking one straightforward question: "What work was performed regarding the windshield washer hose repair?" More than a month later, I still have not received a response. No repair shop is perfect, and I don't expect perfection. I do expect careful work, fair pricing, and clear communication when I ask reasonable questions. Unfortunately, too many small issues added up, and the lack of follow-up from the owner ultimately led to this rating. I wanted a state inspection on my 2003 ML320. They found issues with the front and back end, and a frayed seat belt. They wanted to do both sides of the front end, though it wasn't needed. My issue was, they couldn't find the seatbelt, so they got a used one. $225 for a used seatbelt, and $650 to change it out. I pick up the car, and the seat belt is tan, not black, like the others. No heads-up from them, that the wrong color came in. Why didn't they send that back to shipper? Is that quality care? No! Makes you question if the other items should've been replaced. August 2023, I brought my 2019 Elantra Limited to the shop for inspection. The car had 40,000 miles at that time. We bought it brand new in 2019. They failed the inspection for some light rust on the edge of the front brake rotors (about 1mm) and also about 2mm in the area by the rotor hat. They said that the VA inspection regulations requires that the brake pads are fully contact the rotor surface. My pads are fully contact the rotors. I am pretty sure that the brake pads are not designed to cover the rotor surface from edge to edge. I was quoted $150 to resurface the rotors and $400 to replace them. I declined and got it inspected at some other very reputable shops. They had no issues passing the vehicle. If this is the reason to fail my car, then NO VEHICLE on the road will pass inspection. They ALL have this type of rust on the rotors where the pads don't touch the rotors. I then did some research on VA Inspection regulations but not able to find this requirements. I will NEVER come back there again. I don't mind if the reasons are legitimate. I do mind, however, if the reasons are illegitimate just to make money. I am ABSOLUTELY disappointed. I live in Virginia Beach. This place is in Yorktown. What a drive. But so worth it. Today's visit was simple, an oil change. But why this visit went so well was the conversation I had with Chris (one of the owners) after all the work was done. It was about the possible purchase of another vehicle, his advice, tips, what brands are best for longevity, price, etc. In the end, I walked away knowing something that I didn't know before. Apparently, because of the military car prices are somewhat inflated in our area. Simply put, flying out of the area and purchasing a car may be worth the cost savings. 1st off they came to tow my Blazer away cause I couldn't get it to start, but they guy was 2 hrs late to the time I was told he would arrive. 2nd he told me they specialize in Chevy Blazers & they could diagnose the problem.My Blazer went there on a Thursday & I didn't get it back til the following Friday.Bad part about this whole thing is they never called me. I had to call them twice both times telling me they cant figure out the problem, expected they where able to get it started for them everyday. So they finally call me telling me when am I going to pick up my Blazer. So when I got there Friday morning it wouldn't start for me. So the guy jump started it, still having no idea what the problem was & charging me $103.73 for diagnostics fee that never fix the problem REALLY!!. This is crazy being I took it to Advance Auto which does a diagnostics for free & come to find out it was my stater.
