Just had a conversation with (owner?) trying to explain what I wanted to accomplish with my audio system. Guy is aggressive, short, curt, cuts you off as your talking, and generally poor attitude. He won't take this criticism well and will post a pithy comment back, but I'll tell you this much, pissed away this sale and any word of mouth positive feedback. He may be booked out several months, but is it because he's so successful or just slow, unorganized, understaffed or cheap? Don't know, don't care. Good luck, hope the attitude improves. read more

Just called for some info on a marine stereo receiver after visiting Best Buy, West Marine and Audio Ace in St Louis. He said he could get whatever I wanted by the next day. Upon my visit, we talked about my boat and how it did NOT have a single din sleeve to receive a new stereo because Yamaha was weird like that. After 30 minutes of talking over how to best install my new receiver in the boat and how to wire it to my amp and remote, I went home and had it all installed and jamming within 3 hours. He didn't receive any money for the know how, just the receiver and the splash guard which were cheaper than the units I saw anywhere else and better quality. Not one of the other places could tell me that I may be in for trouble because Yamaha was weird that way. I'm thankful he gave me the warning ahead of time and the know how to tackle the project. Really don't recommend just go somewhere else. I walked in with my truck box subwoofer that i thought I blew cause it was cutting in and out. this guy couldn't have been more of a dick on helping me. He was a jerk and didn't explain why it happened or try to help me. Not to mention the shop is a mess theirs product all over the place just laying around on shelves and in boxes. read more

I contacted the Better Business Bureau and here was the No Limit's response At No Limit Car Audio we pride ourselves in word of mouth and referral only business marketing, and do not pay for advertising of any kind and have not for 14 years.\ Under those circumstances we are either very lucky or provide exceptional service and quality of workmanship, considering the volatile nature of operating a business in today's business climate. Our store policies are clearly posted next to our sales counter where all purchases are made and finalized. They clearly state " all sales are final " and that " there are no refunds ". Unfortunately we live in a country where people waste the courts time to sue over receiving HOT coffee that was not labeled as such. Every business has there store policies posted or at least should have them posted, with that said i am not aware of any business that reads there store policies over the phone as a disclaimer prior to conducting business. If the consumer is concerned about being able to receive a refund prior to a commitment that would be there responsibility to ask those kind of questions. The purpose of the deposit is to claim product that is ordered for future installation appointments, since the product is not stocked in the volume necessary for the demand in the winter season and to secure the 3 hour time slot that is reserved for the installation of said product and to validate the approximately 20 minutes that is spent writing the ticket and setting the appointment. The customer in question does in fact have a $25 credit on file and will continue to have the credit for future purchase or may choose to gift the credit to a friend or family member. We do not feel the need to apologize for the store policies as they are clearly posted in the store, we hope this answers this query into the business practices of No Limit Car Audio as we strive to conduct ourselves in a professional manor for all of our customers. As a side note, we do not accept checks here either and it is not posted because we are not required to post a sign informing our customers that we do not accept checks, but we do have a sticker on our window showing that we accept most major credit cards. Case and point, if a consumer comes to pick up there vehicle after an installation and tries to pay by check and complains because no one told them we don't take checks ( that would be another example where the consumer failed to do there own due diligence prior to conducting business. ) read more

Just had a stereo installed by Matt. This is my 3rd or 4th by him but haven't had one in 10 years or so. If it wasn't for him I'd never mess with car audio every again. He has all the top products for great prices and I view him as the top expert on car audio in St Louis. I've had two issues come up since it was installed and both times he never charged me even though it was an issue with my car not his install. This place was great. I had a Tarantula remote start system installed last week and am so pleased. Matt knew exactly what would work with my vehicle and did not try to swindle or up-sell a more expensive system for no reason. Also, being a single female, it can sometimes can be frustrating and hard to trust in a mechanical environment. It was so great to be treated fairly when it came to my vehicle. I had the owner put a 3,000 sound system in my 97 F250 and it works and sounds amazing. That isn't even the half of it though, I had an issue with my sub and the owner was very quick to fix the issue and helped me to upgrade the sub to a much more expensive one with paying virtually nothing for what I received. To say the customer service was VERY on point wouldn't do this business justice. NO ONE will touch my truck but this place. read more

We used this business to have a keyless entry installed on my daughter's car. My husband called and was quoted a price of $119 + tax, but when my daughter brought the car in, they installed a unit that was $148 + tax. When I called about this, I was told that no one buys the $119 system, so they just assumed we would want the more expensive system, without ever checking with us (even though their voice mail says they are the home of the $119 keyless entry). This is a typical bait and switch. Additionally, they told my daughter they didn't know they had a "yelp" deal out there, and immediately canceled any further "yelp" purchases to use on their products. This company does not seem to be reputable...seems very sketchy! read more

Matt may talk a good game, but when it comes to being a professional installer and knowing his equipment he doesn't! He sold me an accessory to make some of my OEM USB ports work. I took it back to him because it wasn't working. He really didn't know why, so he had to use the USB from the stereo which meant cutting a hole to in my dash. When I asked about a refund on the part that I couldn't use, his answer was I'll trade the part for labor. REALLY!!!! I would advise you to stay away! This guy is a joke. read more

I would be very very very careful with any store that didn't post the prices on their products. That's not good business practice for any company. I'm not saying they are ripoffs, but the potential is there for sure. I would do a lot of research on what I'm buying before I settled for No Limit (on pricing).
