I think that lens auto is the most honest repair shop I have ever been to. I am a very easy customer to take advantage of because I do not know the very first thing about automobiles. On top of that - I can be very annoying with my anxiety, because as many know, car repairs cause immense financial stress, especially for a young adult like myself just coming into financial health. They will NEVER do a repair that doesn't need to me done, or upsell you without consent. This should be baseline, but I've experienced this so many other places, especially in Kirksville. The price of replacing my radiator had me feeling physically sick for days because I had no idea if it would total my car or not. They worked around the budget that I had said to find the most workable price for me, and then when my transmission shot in my car 2 weeks later, they found a way to connect a minor transmission repair to my radiator and gave it to me for free. Saving me, what could have been, 100-1k at other stores. Their customer service is off the charts, very knowledgeable and professional. I left my car for almost a week to have parts replaced (used and new) and I get my car back with it pulling to the left. After spending 1600 I expect the car to be fixed and driving straight. when I brought it in it was pulling severely to the right with driver front wheel damage. I don't know how this went un-noticed during alignment or test drive after everything was repaired (if you did one) but in my opinion I don't think they did and just put it on the alignment rack and sent it on its way read more

We had just bought an old used car for our daughter about 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine then all of a sudden it powered up but wouldn't start. We had it towed there from the company they use, and wasn't sure what to expect. My daughter had put a decorative piece around the ignition and that was what it ended up being. They just took it off and it worked fine. I'm sure there are other shops out there that would have taken advantage of us but I was extremely happy with their integrity!!! Brought my Truck in for a door handle replacement. Had the same repair done almost 1 year ago to the day. Price for PART was increased by $40 from the repair last year which was already marked up from the dealership price where they aquired it . Normally I would overlook the extra markup but for a $40 increase in one year was just wrong. The part from the dealership hadn't changed it's price in 10 years. Service desk person Greg was less than nice to deal with. Tried to discuss the issue with the owner Kim who refused to speak to me as she walked by. Spoke to Matt (who I was told was not there) a long time manager who was very defensive of price increase and the desk clerk Greg. I did ask to see the invoice from the dealership where they obtained the part as the part and invoice where sitting on the service counter. Kim returned quickly from her office and just said "Oh no, you're not going to get to see that" then quickly walked away again. Niether the manager or the OWNER bothered to check the paperwork to see if a mistake had been made. So after trying to be reasonable with the owner and staff, I decided just to do the repair myself. This has not been my past experience with Len's Auto Repair but something seems to have changed. I also was not happy that I had dropped off my truck the night before and it had NOT even been touched. It was after 1pm, they knew I was waiting for it, it could have been done another day, I made an appointment in advance, and they close at 5:30 pm. So I am out $30 in Uber fees to drop it off, no repair was done, and I had to deal with crabby people. Hooray.... read more

I've been going to Len''s now for about five years. Two years ago I bought a brand new car and I've been taking it to the dealership for oil changes because it's free. In this two year. I've gotten three flat tires from screws and chunks of metal. Every time I take it to Len's and they repair the tire for me. For free! Awesome experience with this business! Was traveling from Georgia to Kansas City and my truck would not crank after stopping for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel. Called around to shops before calling for a tow. Shops were telling me they were 4-8 days out. Called Lens Auto Repair and Todd answered. Todd said they do their best to get travelers with broken vehicles on the road as quick as possible. We discussed the symptoms end both concluded it was the fuel pump had stopped working. Todd said it would most likely be the next day but they'd try to get me on the road later this day. Got towed to Lens. The shop was clean, spacious and super friendly. They got a mechanic diagnosing my truck within about 45 minutes of arriving. The issue was a fuel pump relay corroded electrode. They could have easily also put in a new fuel pump and I'd never known. Super honest!! The price was about half of what I was expecting after having the issue explained to me. I recently had quite a few problems with my car. A car that has never given me issues in the 10+ years that I've had it. I did a lot of things myself to get it fixed, one of those was taking it to Ed Napleton Honda (a mistake). I visited two other mechanics before finding Len's. They did not seem to care or want to find the issue. I actually emailed 4 mechanics via Yelp and their email addresses and Len's was the only one to respond to my email. That was a first indication that they were on top of their game. Attentiveness and attention to detail.. After dropping it off, they went over my car with a fine tooth comb. They did all the tests that should have been done, and were recommended to the other mechanics (which the other shops did not do). Len's was able to verify I did not have a cracked head gasket and I did not have a problem with compression in my engine. It was the valves which needed adjustment. Which I had taken it to Ed Napleton almost 1 month prior to have them adjusted. They found a few other small issues and had me fixed up and on my way in ONE DAY! I had been dealing with this issue for weeks and in one day they fixed it. After getting my money 100% refunded at Ed Napleton for not doing the valve adjustment they charged me for, I picked up a couple of plastic tabs to insert into my front bumper. I had noticed underneath, two of them were missing. I looked under the bumper and LEN'S HAD REPLACED THEM! Without saying a word, they went above and beyond to help me, find the problem, and fix it. And they did a few other things without telling me or charging me for them, just because that's what kind of place you are dealing with. I regret I didn't know about Len's first, but now I found them and they have my utmost respect, appreciation and loyalty. My car is running perfectly now, all thanks to Len's. I have seen them interact with women the same as they do with men which is another rarity in the auto repair field. Just dropped by Lens. Had no appointment. The lady at the front desk was incredibly cordial. The mechanic looked at our vehicle, made an immediate repair, and gave us back our keys. To my amazement, there was no charge and we were sent on our way. After, having just moved here from Northern California, the level of service and professionalism was welcomed, surprising and greatly appreciated. Took vehicle in to find an oil leak and electrical issue. They charged me to find the electrical issue but came back with a part that I told them had already been replaced twice. I think they just charged me an hour to read a scanner. They replaced a steering part that was supposedly the cause of the leak, but it wasn't. $300 and some dollars later I still had an electrical issue and leak. read more

I asked him about tires I will need to buy and he was helpful but not pushy. Later in the week the tire light came on in the car. I called Lens' and Merrit (?) said bring it on by. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They charged me for 1 1 /2 hours labor for using scanning tool which doesn't take more than 10 minutes to use start to finish. They also were going to charge me for up to three hours labor to change a sensor of which I declined. I went home and changed the sensor myself at home in less than 35 minutes. Skip this place if you want any kind of work done on your car. read more

I went there to get my brakes checked and they were honest enough to tell me my brakes still looked good and didn't need to be changed at this time. They didn't charge me a thing for checking them. Had i gone to one of these chains I'm sure I would have left with new brakes and paid a pretty penny for it. It's very refreshing knowing there are still businesses out there that are honest and do things the right way. I had a screw in my tire in the middle of my workday. I called & they told me to come over. When I walked in, my keys were immediately given to one of the workers who brought the car into the shop. I went in with a coupon for regular maintenance for $59.95 and when I paid for it they said they had to upgrade the oil which ended up being $10 more than the coupon as well as what I would have paid at the Honda dealership. Ok I admit I think any business with all 5 stars is probably friends or family completing the reviews. My son's car broke down at his mom's house and we know tow services want to tow you to the closest place not your own mechanic. I did not want to pay the expensive tow to take to a mechanic I knew. I trust Yelp and in this case Yelp reviews were on point. I had my kid call a couple places nearby so we could get an idea of who could look at his car and any potential charges. One place said $50 to look at it, $300 for a starter and some other prices that did not seem right. Matt talked to my kid like an adult and told him he would check out the car free of charge. The car was towed to Lens around 4pm and we had it the next day. As it turned out it was just a battery but the battery would not jump for us. Matt is very nice and professional over the phone. These guys are awesome. I'm a person who knows the color of my car and that's about it. I've taken our cars here since moving to st. Charles and they are the only mechanic shop I've ever used where I don't feel ripped off after I leave. They explain everything and are reasonable in price. I recently had a mystery rattle and when they got in there and replaced the suspect part it still rattled. They undid it and found the actual cause, only charged me for 30min of labor. We actually used to go to the Len's Auto Repair in Overland back 8 years ago when we lived in U City and had a great experience with them. When we moved to O'Fallon a few months ago after living in several states around the country, we were pleasantly surprised to find out from a friend that they had opened a second location in Cottleville. I took our 2001 Honda Civic in recently for a coolant leak and they replaced the radiator for a reasonable price. In addition, they have a free shuttle service to the surrounding area and a very friendly driver gave me a ride home after I dropped my car off for the repair. And even though I dropped it off on a very busy Friday, they had a quote on the repair by the end of the day and the car was fixed even sooner than they had promised. So impressed with these guys. I had been at the dealer for the last of my "free" oil changes. They said my power steering pump was leaking, that it is always hard to tell where it is coming from and that it needed replacing....over $600. And I needed front brakes replaced among a myriad of other things. I had had work done here before so decided to have the work done at Len's.......except there was NO work to be done!!! They could barely find a "stain" of something on the pump and said it didn't even need more fluid added......AND that I had a good 25% or 10,000 miles on the brakes and they could help me keep an eye on them. NO work done and no charge for telling me so. I will definitely be using Len's for all our car services in the future. Honesty and trust-worthy go a long way in the car service business! read more
