I love - loved this store. It offers well curated vintage clothing at still somewhat reasonable price. What I dislike is the dudes working there. Their sassy attitude made me almost feel sorry for intruding their personal space - this store, at both locations. I've passed by this store a number of times, usually on my way to Nooworks, which is a couple doors down. I was in the store less than a minute when I spied several cute pieces. I ended up buying an adorable dress, which I'm going to wear tomorrow, for my birthday!! I highly recommend No Shop, even if it's not your birthday!! I'm almost shocked at how reasonably priced everything here is. This is the stuff you'd find real streetwear hipsters in: carefully curated, unique pieces that are still crazy affordable. Hats, cutoff shorts, quirky bags, colorful blouses, and a sprawling array of vintage jewelry-- this tiny place offers so much variety despite its size. They don't entirely eliminate it, but their clothes have a lil less of that subtly musty "thrift shop" smell. Size range is alright. Most things are large or medium. My friend was able to get a Banana Republic jacket for $30 and I snagged a vintage leather jacket for $45. I've DREAMED about this jacket for forever. It's exactly the big, brown, beat-up leather jacket I wanna toss over anything and everything I wear LOL. The material is so comfortable yet thick-- would def keep me warm! I'm really really happy with this purchase. Lots of cute plants and ~hipster~ decor-- very classic "thrift boutique" vibes. I really am impressed with how they can consistently stock high-quality, gorgeous pieces. If you can somehow find parking in these throttled Mission streets, pick here instead of ANY shop on Haight-Ashbury-- I seriously guarantee you'll get a better deal here every time. read more

Does anyone remember Thrift Town? That building that was three stories tall and full of amazing vintage finds? Yeah, well it closed down but No Shop has risen through Thrift Towns ashes and the legacy of vintage lives on. The staff is exceptionally stellar!!!!!!!!!! They were so nice to me, gently letting me know that my YSL bag was a counterfeit, to educating me on why a diamond studded red velvet dress is a hard sale in the middle of summer. They don't take brands you are familiar with, but I did see some Nautica and American Apparel in there...but for the most part no H&M, Forever 21, Hollister, Abercrombie, zara etc. Beautiful collection of vintage clothes, from a Jacqueline Onassis inspired pink dress to a Save the Earth vintage denim jacket, and a planet on it's back studded with sequins. This shop has a bit of positive and a bit of negative. First I found the most fantastic leather skirt here. It was 12 dollars and fit me perfectly. I'd been searching for one like it for 4 years. The negative. The overall taste of this shop is highly questionable. Many of the items are fairly well used and still priced quite high. It's definitely not fashion forward by any means. The service is also erring on apathetic, with a hippyness vibe to it unrivaled by Haight St. The final straw? The dressing rooms have no locks, and in general beyond my one in a million buy, I'd probably drop by only if I were in the area. read more

Cuuuuuuuute vintage shop (rumored to be owned by NooWorks just a few doors down, though I've done zero research to verify that hear-say information). If you're looking for colorful, hip, maybe even ironic vintage clothing, this is an excellent stop. I've found a lot of rad stuff here that I feel like I can't live without... unfortunately its always stuff that's like 4 sizes too big for me, but I'll still always stop in just in case my day comes where I finally find the perfect __whatever__ to add to my wardrobe. No Shop is my favorite consignment store in SF by far. Every time I go I find a must have item and it makes me feel like my clothes collection is starting to finally take on a lasting defining vibe. I'm not just buying stuff that I will be like, "why the hell do I have this sweater?!" two years down the line. I love everything dearly that I have gotten from here. Highly recommend stopping in. Also hands down the coolest fitting rooms I have ever been in. Don't expect to come in and find thrift store bottom of the barrel prices though. Some of the items in the shop are pricy. One of many glorified rummage stores on Valencia Street, NO really strives to hit that tenuous vintage shop sweet spot: It offers a selection of junk curated to cater for contemporary style trends, without losing sight of the fact that from an economic point of view, the clothes sold are essentially trash that happens to resemble garments in vogue. I understand that cool rubbish has cultural cachet, and inevitably - sewing new labels on old clothes can be spellbinding, so much that you might fail to notice the only customer in the shop. That's fine, I don't mind being the initiator of hi's - but what really concerned me was your apparent struggle to reciprocate my greeting. Was it shyness? Was I being too invasive by entering your shop? When I asked if I could try on my hand-picked selection of hand-picked old clothes, you managed to produce a nod so stiff that I wondered whether your neck had suffered during all that needlework. The fitting room had really nice bespoke wall decorations and a sufficient amount of hooks. In an attempt to alleviate any alleged passive aggression, I decided to buy some of your stuff. I thought that maybe, my generous overspending on labels trafficked from the thrift racks would help turn aloof into alive - but I failed. I'm really sorry that I entered your shop, browsed through your stuff, tried on your stuff and even bought some of it. I could've avoided the silent shouting match by respectfully walking past your shop. It was clearly annoying and distracting and I apologise for interrupting your workday. My experience at NO really makes me worry about the everyday abuse that merchants of hunted apparel seem to be victims of. I'd advise everyone to consider whether they should really spare them a visit in the future, and respect that a NO means NO. read more

I haven't written a Yelp review in a million years. But I had to break the silence for No Shop. I'll echo others' reviews: most of us typically have awful luck with vintage everywhere else, but step into No Shop and everything you try on is a hit. This was true for me today. I tried on an old (but perfect condition!) Pendleton blazer in forest green wool, an oversized Woolrich sweater, gorgeously cut floral pants, a handmade wool sweater vest, and an old (but perfect condition!) Nordstrom brand fair isle cardigan with a beautiful print. Each item cost under $30 - and the Woolrich sweater cost $10. When the dude behind the counter discovered I had a mile to walk with the haul, he claimed they had no more bags and escaped to the back to dig up bags of any sort. He emerged with a new Baggu backpack, stuffed the haul in it, and sent me on my way. Way above and beyond service. Thanks, dude. The stuff they're selling is grade A. The service behind the counter is grade A. One of the best vintage shops I've ever been. I'll be back on a regular basis. read more

Silk: what a great fabric to buy vintage. Unlike cotton or polyester, it does not get hard or uncomfortable. The soft, luscious fabric that was once so lusted after that it drove the connection between Asia and Europe is always in fashion, and unless you find a piece that has been the dinner of a moth in someone's closet over the years, it holds up pretty well. Silk was what caught my eye hanging outside No Shop as I left Four Barrels. The owner, a sweet, funky fun chick who seems always busy decorating and working, had hung a green silk tank top - classy and chic - on the front door. She knew it was a good piece. It drew me in, and for $8 bought a gorgeous, bold shirt that would sell at Macy's for $50 at least today. I also bought a girl punk band cassette tape. A super cute, eclectic vintage store. This is a MUST for any fashionista or anyone who loves having clothes no one else has. I have been a buyer, seller, curator of vintage clothing for years. I've worked in numerous stores and now have a business of my own. I have to say that No Shop is probably one of, if not THE best I've seen. At, the very least, the best San Francisco has to offer, for multiple reasons: 1= it's not over stuffed and its easy to browse 2= great selection of men's stuff 3= good prices 4= organized incredibly well 5= really cute, big dressing rooms 6= perfect sized store (not overly big, so it's not overwhelming and not too small, so you don't feel breathed on) 7=inventory always changing 8= truly truly unique stuff....seriously, the type of stuff you don't find everyday. Stuff from here, I guarantee, no one else has. I've gotten amazing vintage designer purses and really cute clothes--I have the best luck finding dresses for events, parties and weddings. They have a really nice selection and great taste I really don't know what everyone is saying about rude staff. I'm relatively shy and I never feel uncomfortable here. San Francisco has no shortage of vintage/consignment shops, but this little shop is refreshing in its smallness. It's not a cluttered mess of simply old, funky smelling stuff, but a better curated collection of hip variety. Gorgeous black silk trousers, floral boho pants, vintage beaded clutches...it has a little bit of everything. They have a slightly larger collection of women's than men's, but there's a fair collection of men's, especially in the accessories category: Hats, shoes, etc. In the center of the shop, there is a huge display of jewelry -- some vintage, some made by local designers they work with. I found a gorgeous sterling silver opal ring here that I'm currently in love with -- made by a local jewelry designer. I'm a huge fan of buying a piece of jewelry everywhere I travel, reminds me of my time there -- I have a favorite one I got at a vintage store in SF a few years back, so I'm glad I found this little shop and the ring that holds my next batch of SF memories:) read more

This is my all time favorite vintage/used shop. The price is unbeatable for the quality you are buying. I got a pair of trousers that is $25. Coming from a student's perspective, it can feel like a lot or be the same price if I bought it new. However, if I bought a pair a trousers for $25, it wouldn't be nice quality. I've had these pants for the two years, and they are my favorite pants. My favorite part of the store is how organized it is. All of the pieces are well-thought out. 10/10 place read more

Most of the time when I walk into a vintage store, I leave with nothing since I either can't find the right size or the styles just aren't for me. But I found the most gorgeous vintage Saint Laurent blazer here, and leather belt for under $100! What a steal. The shop is beautiful decorated, clean, and well organized. The lady working at the counter by herself was wonderful and wasn't in your face trying to sell you stuff like at some other shops. I do not have good luck at vintage clothing stores. I am the girl that tries on 10 pieces and has to put them all back on the rack. The day I visited NO must have been my lucky day (and I hope it's not a one-deal, guys). I found a garden party dress and when I went back to try it on, it zipped up and fit my pretty perfectly. I loved it so much, I bought it immediately and changed into it later that day so I could wear it all day long. Oh, and the place is very neatly organised and has really been carefully put together. Good vintage clothing finds at surprisingly affordable prices. Not overwhelming, mostly good things... rather than good things + loads of whatnot to sift through. Considering the location the shop is in I thought the pricing would be much much higher - I was happily surprised. The women's section was eclectic and interesting. NO is the best this shop basically does all the hard work for you as a vintage/thrift shopper. Remember the time you had to waste all day looking through racks at used clothing shops to find that one gem. Well those times are no longer your GEMS are finally all stocked in the same place. When I worked in the neighborhood this was my go to spot almost every day. The ladies at this shop are super sweet and everything is reasonably priced. As a girl who has a total weak spot for the 90s NO has everything you could want from great floral print dresses, cute cropped cardigans, silk tank tops, great acid washed denim, and vintage leather shoulder bags. Shop was cute, looked well established and well thought out. I found a fair amount of items I liked, my mom even found stuff! The negative was how dimly lite the store is, which makes it hard to notice flaws on garments. When we got home, we noticed a giant stain on the sweater my mom bought for $38.... Wow. If it hadn't been for selling us an item at full price that had a massive stain on it, I would've said the store was 4 stars. Awesome little vintage boutique with unpretentious chicks working here and an awesome huge old dog who lays around looking tired and bored. NO is next to Four Barrel coffee another amazing little shop in the lower Mission. The selection is decent I wish there was more. Sort of reminded me of an old library with books stacked tot he ceiling. They actually have one of those huge ladders in which you can climb up to get to the clothing that is on racks way up high. it's not just another consignment store with cool clothes. No has a really warm feel, a really appealing aesthetic, a magical dog named Bone, and great people working at all times. Its' smart layout really altars your perspective of clothes, for the better. The consigned goods in the store all have a story and a very specific, eccentric feel. It is clear that there is a standard for what they sell in the store. No also has a really good selection of magazines, books etc. they also put on really good art shows with good bands and good people. Because of the energy and lifestyle associated with the store it is nice to shop in and consign your clothes at. Consigning clothes is nice and easy (no snooty judgement like other vintage stores) this place is rad and i like it so much that i find myself shopping and hanging out here. Five stars! read more

I always, ALWAYS find at least one piece of clothing here. This isn't just a dirty consignment store full of oversized rags. It's clean, neat, and full of variety. The store itself is pretty small from the entrance. But as you walk inside, the store is actually quite large. They recently did some renovating inside to give it a bit more of a "open" feel, however, I liked the old setup better. It felt more cozy. They have a wide selection of dresses, skirts, shirts, shoes, and unisex jackets. I love browsing through the clothes in No. Workers there vary in kindness. There is one lady who is very sweet, and another who is a bit condescending. Music in the store is generally good as well. They once played through one of my favorite Wild Nothing albums. However, on some days the playlists can be the opposite (Adele wtf). All in all, they have something in every size and for every style. I absolutely love this store. Affordable upscale vintage clothing, antique furniture and more, I picked up a tres chic handbag brought back from Morocco by Leah personally. I was on the hunt for a Christmas/Holiday sweater, and after going through several thrift stores on the same street I stumbled across No. I didn't expect much when I walked in, but when my friend waved me over and pulled out an adorable pink sweater with bears on it, I fell in love. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I grabbed it without a second thought (fortunately, the price was within range for me)! A big plus is that they take credit card, and will give you a cute little handmade cloth bag for you to put your items in. Unfortunately, most of the vintage clothes here are not really my style, but I can understand why people like it here.
