Stopped by, hoping to get something cute to wear this weekend, but left disappointed and empty-handed. I came on a weekend afternoon, and it was busy and full of other thrifters. The store is large and they have a large selection of clothes, housewares and furniture. My review is strictly for the clothes. All the pieces I saw in the women's section were in poor condition and priced way higher than it should be for unbranded, poor condition clothing. My assumption is that all the cute pieces have been picked up already by the sheer volume this store gets. There are a ton of other thrift stores in SF that offer better selection, brands and pricing for clothing.

8/2/2023 Hanging out with my oldest son, and he is taking me around to his favorite spots.. It's funny, I never realized until today, how his tastes mimic mine... It's always cool to find unique merchandise or gently used items you may need.. I saw the collection of LP vinyls and was searching for a R&B, or Motown record.. Bummed, only one I saw was a Barbara Streisand oldie.. lol.. My son has an eye for unique artists.. He found a series and purchased a framed picture.. As we were standing in line, one of the workers comments how cool the drawing is.. My son asked if the artist was still alive , the employee said a very wealthy customer donated the drawings..lol.. So glad we stopped in..

We walked by CTS on our thrift crawl and of course we had to come in. CTS has been around for a long while (since 1982 according to their website) but this is my first time. My friend has been here before. This place is huge! Racks of clothes, shoes, and furniture in the back. What's unique is they work with different charities to sell your donations to benefit the charities directly. My friend told me she saw a few pieces of furniture that she liked. Not sure if she brought them or not as I was more focused on the custom jewelry in the front. Lots of potential in this place but one must have some time and patience.

A big pink beacon on Valencia Street, Community Thrift is always worth a visit, you never know what you might find. On this day there was some deliciously bad art, sadly, not the kitten on velvet painting I've been searching for. Some day. A girl can dream. Oh, the kitschy album covers of yore. The glitter platform shoes. Aisle upon aisle of books. Good selection of period & contemporary furniture. Those 60s lamps I want to buy for my imaginary Midcentury Modern home. I have a friend, who unlike me, has a knack for scoring designer fashions here. Of course there's plenty of oddball ceramics & bins of tableware. Trampoline! Vintage loom! Great music! Minus 1 star for the dim lighting over the clothing racks. I've never been able to see anything without taking 1 piece off the rack, 1 at a time. I wear out easily. This place is a wonderland.

    White long sleeve very affordable.

The business is enormous, housed in a huge warehouse on Bayshore. I only wish it were double it's size, and that my home were double the square footage so I could buy more! Grand Central Station Antiques hits the sweet spot with quality and price. I can say without a doubt that you will not find a larger selection anywhere in the Bay Area at these prices. Robert, who's been running the business for decades, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and always helpful in locating the perfect item for one's home. I have included pictures of some of my favorite and unusual finds. My friends all joke that I now present as a rich heiress, but the truth is, is that I spent comparatively little in furnishing my apartment with items I found at Grand Central Station Antiques. Purchasing antiques provides quality you just can't find in newly manufactured furniture, and honestly, one won't pay more (or much more) than their modern equivalencies. Antiques have soul, history, and create rich warmth and beauty for your home - priceless! The prices are always fair and the selection is like no other in the Bay Area. I have a particular interest in bookcases and shelves to house a growing book collection. At GCSA I've discovered a number of wonderful European 19th and 20th century classic items to display our collections, as well as beautiful oriental rugs, art pieces and practical household items. You won't be disappointed with the wide selection and the outstanding care which Robert and his team apply to their merchandise. I can also attest to the prompt delivery and exceptional attention given by the delivery team to delicate and heavy items. One extremely large (over 9 ft wide and nearly 12 ft high) walnut Victorian bookcase with glass doors had to be installed as a single piece. It was expertly handled and placed. You won't be disappointed. I've attached a few images of pieces found at GCSA that I treasure.

The building was a printing press back in the day, so it's a bit of a maze but that's part of the charm. I've discovered some amazing local businesses. I recently went to their February artisan food fairs, and bought some delicious food products. They had a variety of food vendors: hot sauces, honey, dips, cookies, teas, and more. As for the craft fairs, respect jewelry, candles, cutting boards, and even a few food vendors. That's where I discovered Apisol, a woman-owned company based in the Peninsula that makes delicious sparkling honey beverages. I never heard of this place until a fellow Yelper brought this up to me and I said SFBox? I never heard or been in this location before and I am sure most of you never heard of this place either unless you search for history of the William Randolph Hearst printing press building so many years ago. The building was built in 1926 as a printing plant for the San Francisco Examiner. It is a nice mixed use building like a nice cozy maze to explore the nice layout and architecture of the old print shop. So upstairs about 2 floors and vendors are scattered so it's like a hunt for them, almost like a needle in haystack. Lol Well it's not that hard as you won't miss anyone. Too floor that where you will satisfy your sweet tooth . Yummy. The vendors that were there were a nice mix from tea, cheese, spices, India coffee , Turkish spreads, ice cream, giant cookies, healthy drinks, spreads, and I am sure you will find something you will enjoy. I don't normally buy stuff, but the honey , red beet, 2004 sweet land Bingdao $95 brick tea that is aged 21 years that can make 175 tea servings for $95, Il Fiorello basalmic vinegar was thick and smooth great texture and syrupy taste very captivating and Taste of Levant tahini and their chocolate jar of molasses was excellent and I had to buy them. As soon as I walked in, I saw many lovely mirrors, but none that matched the one I'd been imagining. Just then, Howard asked if I was looking for something specific. I told him about the mirror I'd been dreaming of, and he smiled and said, "I just bought one like that." He showed me a photo on his phone, and it was the one. He told me it would arrive on Monday, but I was leaving town for work and worried I might lose my chance. Howard kindly promised to hold it for me until I returned. When I came back, I hoped he had kept his word, and he had. There it was, waiting for me: the gorgeous Victorian mirror I'd dreamed of all my life.
