I was able to find something for my daughter who is 9 years old btw and into thrifting as well. The staff there were very helpful and friendly - which you don't find often at a thrift/vintage shop. What made the experience especially upsetting was the contrast between the store's self-presentation and how I was treated. This is a vintage/counterculture-looking space in San Francisco, with a sign at the entrance advertising itself as the city's "No. 1" vintage store, yet I was made to feel like a risk object rather than a customer. I did not feel welcome or trusted as a non-white customer, and I would not feel comfortable returning.
