She is perfect for him, we absolutely LOVE her and the relationship they quickly built!!!!!! It's typically challenging to find him a good match since he uses ASL "she knows signs" . I'm already seeing improvement with him using his ASL spontaneously. I should mention that he's probably had in the last 10 years over 20 different SLPs over 5 different offices/companies and hands down. This has been the very best place for him. Thank you OAS center for working with kiddos like my son, to improve the quality of their life....

Where do I begin? I came to this clinic needing special therapy services for a child with autism…read moreand 1 time 5 years ago there was a good therapist employed there that worked with our child. The owners bio made me think that this was a stand up place with integrity and values. I emailed for weeks trying to setup an appointment with any therapist- occupational, speech, adaptive physical education etc. The owner kept giving me the run around- I genuinely thought he was working hard to help me find resources. Then, a school nurse appears to assess my son- from this company! Turns out she didn't even know how to conduct a nurse assesment, didn't know how to write a proper report, and had very little professional knowledge, nevermind integrity. I now realize this is one of those exploitive therapy clinics that's not actually interested in ethically treating special needs children. So disappointing given the needs that exist and the potential this place had. Would not trust this center with any kind of evaluations or treatments. Beware. Also everyone should know that you can file a UCP complaint against this company or any employees of it that you work with who engage in unethical practices. You might think since it's a private company you can't do that, but they are given public taxpayer funds to operate and therefore are subject to the same procedures as if a direct employee of the school. Feel free to reach out if you are unfamiliar on how to file a complaint. Parents must keep charters and those working with special needs accountable.

While still able to get around with her walker, she needed assistance for many of her daily functions. As we are both in our late 70's, we determined that some in-home weekly assistance would be needed. Relying on Yelp reviews we contacted San Diego Home Caregivers and met with the owner Sterling Miles. It was clear from the start that finding the right caregiver and meeting all of Mom's needs was his top priority. He even gave us information on other options in case his services might not meet our needs. He is genuine in his concern and commitment to providing top level care. We could not have been more impressed when we met Mom's new caregiver Jasmine. Her cheerful, warm personality was a perfect fit, and Mom was immediately comfortable with her. She went out of her way to not only care for Mom but to also help us in any way she could. Unfortunately, by the end of January Mom was at the end stage of her life. Because she was so comfortable with Jasmine, we had her continue to come even though Mom also had Hospice care by that time. As 20 family members came to say their goodbyes over the final two weeks, they were also very impressed with how caring Jasmine was and how much Mom appreciated having her there. We highly recommend Sterling and San Diego Home Caregivers.

I saw the great reviews for San Diego Home Caregivers and reached out to them. They set up a quick home evaluation and Sterling came out to the house. My mom told me that he was so kind, gentle, and full of compassion. He then called me to fill me in on a plan to get them help. Sterling went above and beyond to provide us help. It was clear to me that Sterling is in this business because he cares more about people than simply making a dollar. If you are looking for a company that cares about those you care about, I highly recommend San Diego Home Caregivers. You will be as thoroughly impressed as us when you meet Sterling at the free home evaluation. Hope this review is helpful to you in choosing the right caregiver company!

Probably not. Well in our case, in a realty sense it's more like, "Great Scot!" and yes, this particular Scot IS great! I highly recommend Scot when looking to buy or sell a home. Top notch guy! We appreciated Scot's candor and felt he genuinely cared for us and our interests. We found that the whole process of selling and buying is similar to a roller coaster ride. As with most roller coasters, there's a sense of excitement and nervousness especially when you're not sure what kinds of twists, turns, slopes and inversions to expect. Scot and his assistant Loretta helped make the ride much smoother for us. Even if at times when it seemed the ride was out of service, Scot somehow managed to get us back on the tracks. As with all roller coaster rides, the ride does come to an end, and joy and elation is typically experienced. At the end of our ride we got the home we loved. :) Thank you Scot for all that you've done for us!

She expertly guided us through inspections that are so critical, especially with a 1940's home, and made sure everything was properly vetted. When my family arrived, we were brought to my dad's room where he was sharing with another individual. The bedding was stained. In the bathroom that was shared with multiple individuals was unsanitary. It had brown-stained towels wrapped around the base of the toilet and smelled strongly of urine. My father was also told that he needed to relinquish his electric wheelchair and would be given one of theirs. He's informed they would "try" to find one with neck support, but could not promise one would be available. He absolutely must have neck support at all times and a standard wheelchair would not have been able to provide him the support he needed. He also does not have the strength or mobile to be able to push himself in case of an emergency. If something were to happen he would have been trapped. He was there from around 3pm to 8am the next day and at no point did any staff come to the room to check on him and see if his needs were being met. The only staff interaction happened in the middle of the night when he called to have his roommate turn off his TV and was told his roommate could watch TV at full volume all night if he wanted to, which he did ensuring he got no sleep that night. I came the next morning to remove him from the situation. Upon check out they lost some of his multiple RX medications that were later found and had to be mailed back to him. Essential RX medications should never have been lost in the first place which only added to the stress of the experience. This sad facility overall was not a place we believe any veteran should be subjected to.

Based on the so-called 5-star review from Medicare and US News & World, I selected this facility…read morefor myself when I needed support recovering from surgery. Even before I arrived, as I waited in the hospital, the center showed issues by not returning phone calls made by my case manager. Four days elapsed before they responded. Don't believe the false promises made on their website, such as "Prior to admission, one of our admissions staff will reach out with a phone call to give you a brief explanation of what will happen upon arrival. They will also set up a time to have an initial meeting." Neither that call nor that meeting ever occurred. I gave it a week. The staff that I met and who took actual care of me were industrious and gracious, despite being overworked and (probably) underpaid. However, the services that I expected, such as extensive PT to improve my physical strength and flexibility, and the promised OT sessions, including learning how to get in and out of a car and learning how to use a tub bench, never happened. The meals were occasionally meager (one slice of plain bread and half an egg), sometimes tasty, and never included fresh fruit or vegetables. Part of recovering from anything should involve healthy nutrition that is based on fresh food. But I'm sure the industrial-sized cans of whatever are significantly cheaper. The incessant beeping of unanswered calls and the screaming/yelling of a woman parked in the hallway most days made for a disturbing and challenging environment in which to try and rest and heal. Without notifying me or asking my permission, the staff changed the days, times, and locations of scheduled doctor appointments. Imagine my surprise when I decided to double-check the status of appointments. Early on, I slipped in a puddle at the base of the toilet shared by two rooms (4 patients). My right foot (non-weight-bearing foot in a splint) slammed down on floor and my back slammed into a grab bar. Staff said that the puddle/leak had been previously reported to maintenance. Maintenance stated that the toilet was fine. Every day for the remainder of my stay, the floor was wet and a towel was required to mop it up. When I informed PT that I was having chronic back spasms and pain after the fall in the bathroom, the staff said that they would provide some sort of back support. I asked about the back support again the next day. The back support was never provided. The understaffing presents definite challenges for both patients and staff. When you are non-weight-bearing and you rely on staff to obtain medication or use the bathroom, you must be prepared to request medication several times, because they will forget and you will suffer. To avoid developing a UTI and being forced to foul my clothing, I learned early on to request access to the bathroom before I seriously needed it. It might easily be 30 minutes before anyone's available to assist you in getting to the toilet. The requirements that they were supposed to fulfill, such as ordering a walker and restarting my in-home PT and OT, failed to materialize. I made several visits to their office before I discharged myself to make sure that they had placed orders. I don't know if they were lying to get rid of me or just because it's standard behavior. After I discharged myself, I expected the walker to arrive at my home and the home-health care to resume. For the next 10 days, I called repeatedly to ask what the status was. No one responded. My case manager from my insurance company also called, and they failed to respond to those calls as well.
