LOVED Noctem. We needed dinner and this spot was around the corner from the hotel. We chose the burger, olives, duck gizzards, chili, peanuts, and I had 2 small beers (one was Caspar). Really enjoyed everything, including the great staff. (The gizzards tasted like any other part of the duck.) Definitely will visit again when in town.

Such friendly service. We actually only ordered one meal and it was enough for me and my sister. I would go back in a heartbeat. Fun, lively place.

Having arrived by train and having checked in at the nearby Best Western, four of us wandered about looking for a place for dinner for our first night in Quebec City. We couldn't have been happier to have found Noctem. They cleared off a table for us, and we proceeded to have a charming time. Drinks were all good with very affordable prices for them. And the food...wow good! I had a pork dish that was the best meal of our whole Canadian adventure. Others enjoyed their burgers and poutine. Service was terrific. Highly recommend!

Went here right after checking into my hotel. Great local brewery. Very knowledgeable bartender that recommended a great 6 beer flight. Let him choose between 3 dishes and he combined two into a great lunch. The Noctem Burger with upgraded fries to poutine. If you like a hazy ipa this is the spot for you. Sunday lunch crowed was small and was able to chat with the bartender. Look forward to going back my next time in town.

Amazing selection of beer. The bar is absolutely beautiful, filled with plants and cat things.

Great location: pedestrian street with indoor and outdoor seating. A large selection beers but they were just ok. Appreciate the artwork and multiple blackboards which displayed the beers. Worth a try.

Beer was amazing. Got their catnip and didn't want to stop. Awesome hops, fruity, big body, tasty. So the beer was awesome, great beer vibe, but the food was great as well. Got Quebec's Snack Bar Parmentier Revisited which was really good. First time having HORSE meat but it was amazing! Lean and tasty. They pair it well with all sorts of goodness including a slow cooked egg! Service was great and vibe was even greater. I bought a t-shirt!

By far my favorite brewery in Quebec City!! I stopped in twice during my stay. I think I tried every single one of their beers offered on tap! And I can tell you with all honesty, I didn't try one that I didn't like! The IPAs are all on point, my faves were the Moloko Plus and the Catnip! As for food, I ordered the chicken and waffles which is actually a sandwich and the waffles are filled with cheese!!! The coke slaw it comes with is good too! The second trip I ordered the nachos and the potato salad. Both were good and unique, very different than American nachos and P salad. The nachos came out looking like chili surrounded with nacho chips, good flavor! The potato salad had an egg on top and a giant slab of bacon! It was very different but doesn't disappoint. If I lived in Quebec City this would be a frequent spot! Quality beer and food!! I would recommend they start making a beer menu in English though(They have an English food menu.)

After an 8 hr drive from Toronto to Quebec this was the perfect end to our day. Friendly staff and yummy beer. Just 2 mins from our hotel!

Their beer and food is delicious! We brought our 11 month old baby because we are travelling with him and obviously not going to leave him alone at the hotel but they were very accommodating.

We sat outside where you can choose between sun or shade, which was really nice after being out biking all day. You can tell the people working here take pride in what they do. Lots of different sized tables. Ooh they have a shelf full of board games. Food: I don't drink but they have lots of craft beers and the couple next to me loved the amount they had on tap. When I first walked in the waitress walked by with what looked like a giant lasagna with salad and I thought oh I want that. When I looked at the menu I realized they don't have lasagna and I figured it must be the croques Monsieur. So that is what I ordered and that is exactly what came. It was very generous and full of cheese which was toasted golden brown it was really good. The salad was good too really fresh the dressing was good. I'm glad I chose it. Staff was nice. There was a jazz trio playing -- two elderly men on guitar and bass, and a younger fellow on the drums. They were rocking it. The crowd got pretty into it too, applauding the solos, swaying, and tapping their feet, without really getting disruptive. It's a good environment for this sort of music. A lot of jazz bands in bars and restaurants tend to sort of blend into the background, getting just a smattering of applause from the nearest table. It was nice both the musicians and patrons at Le Fou-Bar enjoying themselves. Besides the music, it seems like a pretty standard-issue bar. Not unpleasantly loud or crowded, even with the music. A bunch of beers on tap, mostly from Montreal's McAuslan brewery. The French reviews mention a large whiskey collection, but I didn't inspect it closely. I also saw a food menu, though I didn't see anyone eating from it, so it may be prudent to get your dinner elsewhere. The clientele seemed mostly local, and French-speaking, though the staff did speak more English than I spoke French. They did not seem to mind my non-Francais-parlezing ways. So basically, these five stars are not really for the food or drink or service (which seemed standard), but for being a fun, casual spot to listen to some good live music. From what I can decipher on the website, they have someone playing at 9pm every Tuesday.
