The so called grilled focaccia. It looks like regular bread.

Seduced to check out NODO on a Friday evening. Got here around 4:40 and just before their apertivo hour ended. We were sat outside on the patio and the service was quick and they were friendly. However, the food was pretty terrible and not worth the price. At least what we got. We order the Pinot Grigio, which was good. But the calamari and lamb skewers were so disappointing. The calamari had this cornbread coating which tasted powdery and some of the calamari pieces were way too chewy. The lamb skewers had great flavor but they were 1/2 what a regular skewer size would be and it was overcooked. We also got the grilled focaccia and they initially brought out regular focaccia. We let them know we asked for the grilled one and they sent out a single toasted slice of bread with cheese on top, no parsley (as was listed on the menu). And when we asked the server about it she said it was a new menu item and tried telling us it was actually focaccia, just sliced differently. She was nice enough to take it back and not charge us for it, since we never touched the dish. But the apertivo hour is definitely not worth it.

I love the food and atmosphere in this place. They definitely have a lot of space to accommodate large groups. The gnocchi is top notch Service is very hit or miss and can be slow but the staff are nice and do their best. Minor complaint, they keep a few garbage bins by the bar with an open lid, these can be smelled by the customers at the nearby tables (see photo) . I would suggest they replace these with a closed lid bin

I just gotta say, this restaurant is beautiful! There was a wedding celebration when we came to visit - great choice of venue, given how much sunlight it lets in, and the decor is on point. The food surprised us as well! I got the Porzia cocktail (Gin based, elderflower, lemon juice), made to perfection. Rucola E Pera is a definite must order, the arugula, pear, walnut, gorgonzola, and parmigiano paired so well with each other with the poppy seed vinaigrette. Pizza (Borgoricco) tasty when hot. Rigatoni with the slow cooked veal/beef ragu/pork is amazing!. Somehow we still had a stomach for the Sticky Caramel bread pudding (not bad), and the Tiramisu (above average). We definitely would come back to try out the other dishes! Overall Kel rating: 5/5 The good: Great food, great environment, lots of seating The decent: A bit out of the way for us (liberty village) The ugly: Parking can be difficult around this area just fyi.

Beautiful space with tons of patio space. Came here for happy hour and ordered a couple of drinks + a pizza to share. The pizza was mediocre and cocktails tasted a bit watered down. This is definitely a spot more for the ambiance than the food. I was also disappointed that the kitchen didn't allow for any accommodations whatsoever. I would have appreciated it as I'm pescatarian and wanted to sub the meat for some veggies. I would come back.. maybe for a glass of wine on a summer day on the patio

NODO Liberty is a beautiful new space with large windows on a second floor building in Liberty Village. Unfortunately, the food and service fell quite flat. I have been to NODO Junction before and also had a disappointing experience so maybe I'm just not a fan of NODO? To start, we were told we had 1.5 hours to dine but we noticed that there were multiple tables available throughout the night and even when we left (I guess this is to accomodate if other groups came in). We were okay with 1.5 hours because that's plenty of time for a meal, but it took about 20 minutes for our server to take our order and another 20 minutes before the food started to arrive. Not a good way to enjoy a nice meal on a Friday evening as we felt a little rushed. Onto the food, we ordered the calamari, polpetta (meatball) to start and then the famous cream gnocci and seafood linguine as mains. The calamari came out nice and hot and we really enjoyed the sauce too. The polpetta, however, came out COLD. The sauce, the entire meatball, and even the bread came out cold. It was as if it was left on the counter for a while before being served. This was extremely disappointing since the flavours in the dish were great. We could barely wave down our server to inform her about this so we just ended up eating the cold meatball. The mains were both enjoyable and the gnocci was definitely a highlight. The seafood linguine was also tasty but they are definitely a little stingy with the amount of seafood they give you (3 tiny mussels, 3 clams and 3 shrimps). Overall, the food was pretty good except for the cold meatball but service left a lot to be desired.

On our way to a concert at the nearby CNE, we stopped in at NODO Italian for an early meal. It's a very attractive place on the second floor, with a beautiful bar, dining room, and patio. We chose to sit at a high-top table under a covered area next to the bar. Their menu has some very attractive dishes and it took our group of seven a while to decide on what to order. Our choices included a couple of pizzas, Caesar salad, pasta, chicken, octopus, and a couple bottles of red wine. Both pizzas, one with tomato sauce and the other with a white sauce, were delicious. The crust had a nice texture, although it got a bit soggy towards the end. The flavours were very good. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with good flavour. The octopus was very tender and delicious. The chicken was also very tasty but a wee bit on the dry side. Our server brought us a complimentary serving of tiramisu as compensation. The wine, Tavernello Sangiovese Cabernet, was so enjoyable, we ended up ordering a second bottle. What we had... * Caesar Leo * Polipo E Patate * Orecchiette /// Rapini E Salsiccia * Caurà Pizza * Pianezza Pizza * Poultry /// Pollo Al Mattone * Tiramisu /// Tiramisu Tradizonalie All the dishes were attractively plated and presented. Besides the beautiful venue and good food, the service was excellent - friendly, accommodating, and very attentive.

Was visiting from out of town with some family and we were walking around trying to find a restaurant that could accommodate the 8 of us with no reservations in a Friday night. Nodo was the perfect find - they had a beautiful patio and a great ambiance, and they were able to seat us right away. The menu was a bit overwhelming with so many options and honestly a lot of Italian words I didn't understand! The pizzas were good, but not outstanding. I actually preferred the salad and pastas; the Panzanella and Caesar salads were great, and the gnocchi was my favorite pasta. To end the meal, the flourless chocolate cake was a great dessert with a side of vanilla gelato! Yum!

Newly opened restaurant in Liberty Village Went at 6pm on the weekend and waited 30 minutes for a table. Food was tasty about $25 a dish on average. The pasta was good. They have a large amount of pizza and pasta to try. Calamari came out with nice presentation Service was a bit slow and not the best experience. Took 15min to get our bill and another 15 minutes for server to come back with the machine to pay.

I have been to Nodo a few times now and each time has been splendid! The interior and patio are both very spacious and service has been great each time. Really enjoyed their mussels and seafood linguine! Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Authentic food | Gorgeous Ambiance | Fantastic Service My best friend brought me here for a celebratory dinner and we had an amazing time. We got there right after 6pm and the dinner rush hadn't started yet. We visited this location when it was another restaurant years ago and Nodo completely transformed the space! We were warmly welcomed and seated at a nice table with a view of the gorgeous. The decor was so on point. No detail was spared from the lighting to the eclectic furniture. Our server was also kind and lively. She checked in with us and offered recommendations without being overbearing. We both really enjoyed our appetizer of calamari and our pasta entrees. The calamari contained tentacles which I LOVED . I find restaurants only include rings nowadays. The pastas were freshly made and steaming hot when they were brought to the table. They were reasonably priced and a good sized portion. We ordered dessert to go, the banana sticky toffee cake but unfortunately the ice cream was left out of our order which is why I deducted a star Overall we had a lovely dinner and I would go back!

I have been to Nodo's other locations. I really do enjoy Nodo, especially their Calzone's and Arincini. They are the only l Arincini in Canada that are comparable to Sicily. They are truly authentic Arincini. This location was huge. It a had a beautiful interior and setup and cool bar. Very nice open concept and still managed to have so much dining space and tables. We chose to eat outside on the rooftop patio. The patio is small but still nice little spot. Our waiter was a beauty, such a nice man and enjoyable conversation. The issue I had was I was excited to have the Arincini but it was handy and I never knew that when TFC plays they have a game menu that they run by and only that menu. They didn't have the Arincini nor did they have the Calzone. I honestly didn't want anything else but we were already sitting and decided to share a pizza. We ordered the Oltragiosso. The pizza was ok it was your typical Neo Napoletano Style pizza. Really crispy to crispy for my liking and super thin. It said on the description there was scorched pineapples but they weren't scorched at all. I would never usually order pineapple on pizza but if it's scorched or caramalized and cooked well I do enjoy it. I was disappointed but I will chaulk it up to the Game Day Menu.

This a great casual Italian place where you can get tasty pizza, calzone and pasta. We ordered the gnocchi which was delicious, the mushroom cream with corn was well balanced. The burratina pizza was very tasty every slice had a generous portion of burrata. We tried another pizza which was good. The flourless chocolate cake was great. This is a large restaurant so great if you are celebrating a birthday or so. Lots of cute props for taking those Instagram pictures. Great service.

The room is small, and the service was friendly. We shared a Caesar salad to start, which was simple but good. We had the duck confit white pizza and the Iberian red pizza. They were both quite tasty, and I reheated them the next morning on the frying pan for breakfast! They had some decent wines to choose from as well. Overall, we were both impressed with the good simple pizza. I think we've both kind of reached a saturation point with pretentious pizza spots, so this was a nice find in the middle of the financial district.

The food overall was fantastic: Caesar Salad - 4/5 very good, with crispy prosciutto and shaved Parmesan. The dressing had a tangy kick but was on the lighter side. Spaghetti Seafood - 5/5 YUMMY! There were large tiger shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, and salmon in a white wine tomato sauce. So good, loved the variety of seafood. One of better seafood pasta dishes I've had. Mushroom Mafalda - 5/5 HEAVEN! Mafalda pasta with four different mushrooms: cremini, oyster, portobello, and porcini. It's cooked in a truffle cream sauce and is a mushroom lover's dream! Absolutely delicious. The server was friendly but not attentive. She forgot a beer we ordered. Aside from that the food was overall so good I would most definitely come back again.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

We had 3 good pizzas and salads. We always have good food and service. It is very comfortable.read more
