NOFU ? YES PLEASE !!! WHO‍ KNEW ? I am SO grateful for the opportunity to attend the NoFu Skin Care Studio, 2-3 times a week for a few months now. I mainly go for the Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna treatments but have also experienced Reiki and several skin care products there as well. I am pleased above and beyond my expectations with the benefits I am experiencing from the two therapies and products, I have received from NoFu Skin Care Studio. I feel the benefits on many different levels of my health which is a welcomed surprise. With such a small commitment of routine time each week my complexion has cleared up, my skin is way more hydrated, supple, and glowing, the brown spots on the top of my hands have reduced immensely, my circulation is way better in all of my extremities, I feel great when I leave NoFu and notice that I have a little extra spring in my step that lasts throughout the week... yeah, I feel lighter, happier, and notice that I'm smiling more :) The services and products seem reasonably priced from what I've seen around, especially considering the results I've been experiencing. I'm in love with NoFu's infrared sauna so much that I have a standing weekly session. It's the highlight of my week, and something I look forward to. The room is clean, you get to choose from a wide variety of infrared lights, and the temperature is just right, roughly 140 degrees. Susan is so pleasant and even gave me a tip about her Paypal deal so I can enjoy my weekly sessions without breaking the bank. I HIGHLY recommend incorporating infrared sauna in your self-care routine. It's something I was unsure of doing because of the heat, but I've found the heat to be surprisingly enjoyable, like people who like hot yoga. I was excited to try a Reiki session. It's been long overdue so I scheduled an appointment in the evening only to have it canceled about 30 minutes prior to my session. Frustrating, but no biggie. When I called about this, I asked when I could reschedule. Instead of providing her availability, she told me she would reach out to me ASAP and send her availability directly to me which would have been fine but she didn't even bother to do that. I have been doing a weekly infrared sauna session at NoFu and it's been great! The sauna is nice and clean and high quality. Susan is very helpful and got me set up with weekly recurring sessions for the best deal. My last visit was 4 days after I hurt my back lifting a too heavy load and my back had been hurting since. About halfway through my infrared sauna session I stretched and a whole bunch of bones popped in and around my sternum and back and all the pain was gone after that! I was so excited to find a place on the island that offered an infrared sauna, so I booked an appointment as soon as I saw it. 1. The first appointment was canceled on the day of my visit due to the owner being ill, which I completely understand. I rebooked for the following week. 2. When my husband and I arrived for our sauna appointment, the sauna had not been turned on in advance. It took most of our appointment time to reach the appropriate temperature, which was disappointing. Note: although it is technically a two-person sauna, I wouldn't recommend going with two people, as it's quite uncomfortable. 3. For my next appointment, I went solo, but when I arrived, no one was there. I knocked, called, texted, and waited 15 minutes (5 minutes before and 10 minutes after) the scheduled start time before I decided to leave. I'm definitely not going to give this place another chance which is a bummer as there's not a lot of sauna options on the island. read more

I love this place, I started getting infrared saunas to help with psoriasis. I think it's helping (psoriasis is tough) but the other benefits of the saunas, just feeling more energetic and clear are worth it. It's tucked away on a side street and it's really cute and clean. Susan, the owner, is very friendly and knowledgeable and super accommodating to my weird work schedule. They also sell soaps and candles and lots of other things which smell lovely when you enter. I love Alameda and all, but it does not deserve Susan. The thing is, no one does! She is an angel. Susan will transform your skin, up your wellness game, and just overall change your whole vibe to something better- she's got it like that. But since most people are probably checking this page for skincare, I will start there. I used to have cystic zits that would come about once a month if you know what I mean. But that was years ago, because ever since I started seeing Susan and following her advice like it is the word of a skincare goddess (cuz it is) my skin is almost always clear. She does the most thorough extractions, seriously gets it all out, but ever since I upped my game to seeing her a little more often and really being good about using the products that she suggests, even she has a hard time finding too much stuff to get out. Looking in the mirror and seeing clear skin is such a tremendous gift, and I really feel like if it is possible for me it can be possible for a lot of people. I am (quite obviously) the oldest I have ever been, and yet my skin looks the best it ever has. She will take you on a magic carpet ride of skin glory and stick you in a time machine, and then you pop out looking younger than ever. There is a reason she's the best. I don't put anything on my face unless it's Susan approved, and I love that she has these amazing and effective products right there in the shop (and she does not price gouge like a lot of small shops). My favorite is the Phyto-C Eye Return Cream- really keeps the crows feet at bay. It's splurge but worth the price. You really can't go wrong with anything she recommends, and the proof is so visible to me every day. So come for the skincare, then stay for the wellness game. Susan is a reiki master and when you get a reiki add on (or just go in for reiki, whatever floats your boat), you can feel that powerful energy force all the way through. I have had reiki from a few practitioners, and I really think that she has a gift. I'm feeling relaxed just thinking about it and imagining being in her soft cloud of a treatment room! She also has an infrared sauna, so you can just come at your best self from the inside out. Susan's genuinely kind, positive, and loving energy will make you feel like you are on a vacation from the negativity in this world, but of course that would not be relevant if she wasn't also genius level at her craft. I struggle with acne so I signed up for the Acne Bootcamp package (FYI the very first visit will be a consultation where she goes over your skin concerns & provides you facial products - no treatment will be rendered during this time.) During my first facial, Susan pointed out every problematic area on my skin without sugar-coating anything. I knew my skin wasn't the greatest but I also didn't think it was THAT bad...my confidence was probably at its all-time lowest by the end of that appointment. But I don't feel offended - sometimes you need someone to tell you straight up "your skin is crispy as hell & having a major crisis! you needed to do something about it yesterday!" By the end of the bootcamp (a span of about two months), my skin has improved significantly. Yes, I still have my acne scars & dark spots that will take forever to fade, but I've been able to reduce/almost eliminate new breakouts. LET ME BE CLEAR - do not go here & assume all your problems will go away after a few sessions. Your skin's success will depend on your at-home regimen & diet. I used Susan's recommended skin products almost religiously & made sure to drink a crap ton of water, which kept majority of my skin problems at bay.
