This stand has been there for 23 years according to the owner, and is usually pretty busy, (especially on weekends.) Now I know why: the nice couple are friendly and very easy to talk with. Great, no frills place serving outstanding hot dogs quickly and for a super reasonable price. Nogales is a food stand with a few tables located in a parking lot. They serve you food within a few minutes and it comes loaded with toppings, although they have a bar with additional cheese, guacamole, and other sauces. The hot dog buns are the SOFTEST I've ever had and they are heavenly. One dog was enough to fill me up, although I can imagine eating more if you're super hungry. I think it's also great that they had Mexican Coke in glass bottles, which to me, taste better than the one in the US. The staff are very friendly and efficient. It's not the place if you're looking for a nicer, sit-down dinner, but it's perfect place to satisfy your cravings. read more

I went out to a bar around the corner and heading back home I finally stopped in, it was probably around 8:00 or 9:00pm. This was the hot dog stand, I didn't know I needed. When we were researching where to go in Phoenix, websites gave the impression it was a food truck. We parked next door at a fire house and being from Houston, searched for a food truck. Instead, two vans came in, loaded up tables, tents, a cooker, coolers, and the food and utensils needed to help with this pop up food stand, semi outdoor parking lot restaurant. The ladies were incredibly nice and explained that the hot dogs were sonoran style. Basically, hot dog wieners wrapped in bacon, with mayo on the bun, beans, and a whole bunch of tasty tops you can choose from which included salsa verde, mushrooms, cheese (yellow shredded cheese and queso Mexicano). For such a simple little hot dog, I was blown away. I mean, these hot dogs were legit tasty. Plus they had that made with love taste. Drinks included coke, sprite, jarritos, and other traditional Mexican drinks. What I most loved about this place was just how chill, laid back, but nice and friendly everyone their was. The two women would happily serve meal, hustle and clean tables, and everyone was outside on a parking lot, in the middle of the night munching on hot dogs. It was probably one of the safest places to be at the time. I appreciate good service, good prices, and that unknowable factor-the it's just awesome, it factor. This place had it, because it was simple, authentic, and wasn't trying to be a foodie place. You either enjoyed it or you didn't and no one that was eating their had any complaints. I saw several to go orders, while munching away happily. They did sell chips, but I wasn't going to eat chips when I could eat a second Sonoran hot dog, cause they sure aren't something I've heard of in Houston. The hotdog is topped with beans, quac, tomatoes, onion, mayo and I went ahead and topped it with shredded cheese, mushrooms, queso cotija and gave myself a side of pickled jalapeno. Also they had Cerritos, so you know a girl had to grab one ... ended up with the Mandarin one. The bun was so soft and fluffy, wish it was kind of bigger to hold all the toppings and the hot dog. The hot dog was typical- I didn't get a bacon wrapped one, but it was the toppings that took it to the next level. It's pretty much a hot dog with a regional flair! Did I love it? Seriously, some of the best hot dogs in town are here.. not topped with bacon but wrapped in bacon.. the hot dogs are not cooked on site but at a local commissary where they can legally cook bacon wrapped hot dogs. It is very much illegal not only in Arizona but in California to cook hot dogs on the street in this manor. I came 30 minutes too early on a Sunday, which left me patiently waiting in the dark for them to finish setting up. The ladies running this place are absolutely lovely and friendly. And the Sonoran dogs are delicious! Wonderful bacon-wrapped dog topped with beans, mayonnaise, diced tomato, and onion. Just delicious. Stopped by here for a late night bite after a movie. Very friendly owners, they explained what was on their hot dogs, asked how many I wanted and was it for here or to go. I decided to stay and eat as they had several seats open. They have four or five tables under a tent, but seats fill up fast. I couldn't believe how many people started to drive in for a hot dog. The owner brought over my two hot dogs, (bacon wrapped, mayo, onion and tomato) served on a Mexican bun. I elected not to have beans which comes standard. There is a self serve cooler with sauces, jalapeños and two choices of cheese. I added cheddar cheese to both of my hot dogs. They were very good! I had never had mayo on a hot dog before, delicious! I enjoyed every bite of both of my hot dogs and washed them down with an ice cold Mexican Coke. When I was finished, the owner came over and told me what I owed.
