For 5 years, I have driven past this place and wondered: how do they stay in business? Now I have my answer. This place is expensive. Ran me $45 for a burger fries and footlong sub. BUT it's actually worth it. Probably my second favorite sandwich in the valley, it has really good flavor but not overwhelming spice or sweetness. You can tell by the way it tastes that it's fresh and quality ingredients, not some frozen fast food Costco shipment they pulled out of the walk-in freezer. The vibe of the restaurant? Immaculate. Joel behind the counter was quick to offer suggestions (and upsell, which I'm glad he did) and all the staff were super friendly and attentive. This place is probably the closest you can get to Chicago in the desert. Will definitely not be another 5 years before I'm back at Luke's.

I used to go to Luke's consistently when I lived right near 12th St. and Indian school and during that time which was just about three years ago, the food and service was phenomenal. However, recently, you can tell the quality and care has gone down. I recently went to Luke's of Chicago to get a quick Polish Maxwell Chicago dog and it took over 30 minutes with not only me being the only person in the store but a second customer came in after me ordered more food than I did and got their food first. I asked whoever ever was behind the register on the status of my order and they kind of just shrugged it off mind you if it was busy I would understand, but there was literally just me and this other customer in the whole store. Then afterwards, once they realize they messed up and didn't even make my order they proceeded to make me wait an additional 10 minutes so now I'm at the store for almost 45 minutes to an hour waiting on one hot dog. The quality of the food has gone down as well as the veggies don't even taste fresh and the fries I received were cold after waiting for so long. I used to say come to loose of Chicago, but I can no longer recommend coming there as this was not a good experience.

This was just what I wanted. Was craving a Chicago dog and was so excited they also had pizza puffs. Quick service, quiet place.

I wanted to like this place so bad!!! The Italian beef with sausage dipped just wasn't anywhere near what a real one in Chicago would be like. The bread seemed a bit old. The pizza puff, chili fries, and onion rings were good. Staff was very friendly. Going to give them a second try because I want to like it so bad!!

If you want an authentic Chicago-style Italian Beef sandwich, you must try Luke's! I am originally from Chicago and can attest to the beef sandwiches here. When I found this place it was like striking gold. Not many places in Arizona serve 'authentic' Chicago-style beef sandwiches. If you like a little spicy kick, the hot giardiniera peppers are the way to go. I always add those and love it to be dipped in the au jus gravy. Not soggy and not super dry bread...makes the sandwich extra good. The fries are delicious. Crispy on the outside, but inside texture is like that of a perfect baked potato but fried. The right amount of salt to bring out the flavor. The inside dining is all decked out with Chicago Street signage, Vienna Beef pictures, Chicago jerseys and more to give you a taste of Chicago. This is another favorite for when my tastebuds crave a delicious beef sandwich. It's the best I've had in AZ.

Kind of torn on this one. The flavor of the beef was spot as well as the bread. Not a huge fan of their style of hot giardiniera but it was still good. Service was fast and the food came out quick. Basic menu but if you're from Chicago the menu works. Great Chicago nostalgia and feel the way they are set up and decorated. Definitely worth the trip though.

Was a solid Chicago dog. Fries weren't my favorite by any means but worth a trip. Like to try the beef sandwich next time.

Being from Chicago the hot dogs are excellent as well as the Maxwell Street Polish Sausage. I now have my favorite to go Hot Dog place.

Where asking a question feels like you're interrupting someone's day. So today, when I took my son to Ted's Hot Dogs. This is a place I've been going to since the 1900s (as my kids love to remind me ). I didn't expect much. Things had changed since my childhood days, but the food had always remained good! I just missed the days when the same guy worked the grill and knew my name and my order by heart. But then, today... There was Karen. Yes, Karen!! Standing over a grill in 117° Arizona heat, she greeted us with patience, kindness, and an actual smile. She let my son take his time ordering without making him feel rushed. And when the ketchup was empty, she didn't shrug it off or point us in another direction. She didn't hand me a thousand little packets since the pump was empty. She simply took care of it. Was it just ketchup? Sure. But it also wasn't. It was someone choosing to care. When other patrons had notified other staff multiple times it was out - Karen found a simple solution without excuses! These days... that feels rare. We've spent years turning the name "Karen" into a punchline. But today, I met the kind of Karen the world could use a whole lot more of. If you're her manager and you're reading this... take good care of her. Promote her. Clone her if science ever figures that out. Because people like Karen don't just serve food - they create loyal customers who keep coming back!! In a world that tells us what a "Karen" is... be this Karen.

We waited in line to to order and after waiting about 25 minutes, we were helped. The cashier was stressing but was friendly. We ordered three traditional hot dogs with everything on top and a side of bacon cheese fries. Since it was national glizzy day, our hot dogs were supposed to be BOGO. We sat down and waited another 25 minutes until finally our buzzer beeped. We picked up our tray and noticed we were only given 5 hot dogs, not 6. We didn't mention anything just because we saw how busy it still was. The hot dogs were actually pretty good. They were a decent size and flavorful. We really liked the bacon fries and it was enough to share between us three. There was an employee keeping the tables clean and picking up trash - he was friendly. Will de be back to try out some more food!

We purposely ordered more food than we could eat and tried and shared several of different varieties of hotdog sausages, burgers, and then even ordered the pickle chips, onion rings, the tater tot nachos and cheese fries. We also all ordered an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. The speed which the food came out was perfect. The food tasted fresh and was delicious and we were all very pleased. I did talk to the gentlemen that worked there about their pickle chips that I felt could've had more breading and crunchy than they were. They can continue to make them the way they want and I'll still come back and have their dogs or their burgers cause they were delicious. I do believe that their dogs and their sausages were the highlight over the burgers.
