Be careful when choosing this dental office. I spent weeks trying to schedule an appointment, calling multiple times and leaving voicemails that were never returned. When I finally got through, I was told there was only one available appointment time, which I fortunately was able to make work. When I arrived, I felt rushed from the moment I checked in. I was taken straight to the chair without anyone clearly explaining the procedure or what to expect. I also asked for an invoice or treatment breakdown so I could understand exactly what I was paying for, but they wouldn't provide one. What made me most uncomfortable was being told they only had 40 minutes available for a procedure that was supposed to take about an hour. Combined with the rushed environment and the dismissive attitude I experienced from both the dentist and the staff, I no longer felt confident moving forward with my treatment. Because I was already anxious about going to the dentist, I decided to refuse the procedure. I wasn't expecting anyone to eliminate my anxiety, but I did expect clear communication and a little reassurance before spending a significant amount of money on dental work. Unfortunately, I left feeling unheard and uncomfortable rather than cared for. & of course they'll try to save face under my review. But if I were the problem they wouldn't have sincerely apologized and offered to host me again Monday and provide a payment plan which I respectfully refused. After reading the owner's response, I feel it's important to clarify that my review is based entirely on my personal experience. I have no reason to misrepresent what happened. My concerns were not about the dental work itself, because I ultimately chose not to move forward with the procedure. My concerns were about the communication and overall experience. I spent weeks trying to reach the office, felt rushed during my appointment, wasn't given a clear breakdown of the treatment when I asked, and was told there wasn't enough time to complete a procedure that was expected to take longer. Combined with the way I was treated, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding and made the decision to leave. I'm simply sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome. Everyone is kind, professional, and really attentive. The office itself is very clean and well organized, which made me feel at ease right away. The doctor is especially wonderful, very thorough and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I am 39. I will preface this review with the absolute fact (in my experience) that Dr. Soh is literally the best dentist I have EVER come in contact with. He has been my dentist for a few years now. Several of my colleagues also trust him wholeheartedly and that's how I found him. He and his staff (the best ever btw) have always been unbelievably pleasant and supportive, making anything that you have going on feel like it's part of a plan that the whole team is working on to make the experience the most pleasant. In May 2023, I came to Dr. Soh with a fractured front tooth, something I think happened when I was younger when got hit with a softball in the mouth and it got worse with time. I had no idea it was as bad as it ended up being. I was told there was no saving the tooth, as the fracture was so high that no procedure could save it. But Dr. Soh still wanted to make sure there was nothing that could be done to save the tooth, so he referred me to a specialist, who confirmed that I was going to need to have the front tooth pulled. Fast forward a lot because the story is much too long, Dr. Soh and his team provided me with my options on how to deal with this and how to get the most natural looking teeth/smile given my situation. Dr. Soh was very thorough and at the end of our several meetings, I decided on a bridge versus an implant. This meant I had to have my front tooth and another front tooth completely shaved down. I cried a lot when this was happening, but they were the most amazing team, giving me support and kind words when I was struggling. Went through many follow ups and after about 6 months (exactly what Dr. Soh told me it would take) I finally got my permanent bridge. We worked on the color, and he was just the best wanting it be as good as I wanted it to be. And we got there. Never had a dentist care as much as he did. Scheduling with the receptionist was a breezy process before I came in and when I came in for my appointment I was also at ease right away and through the whole process. Location is convenient (free parking in the garage with the murals nearby). The receptionist was again very professional and efficient. My husband and I have been going to NoHo Smile Center for over 5 years and they are the best! I HATE going to the dentist SO much buuuut Dr. Soh takes such great care to make sure I am as comfortable as possible and each filling or procedure ends up being way less scary and painful than I thought. I wanna start by saying that the receptionists are so sweet. They're so compassionate and kind. Just for context, I only went to the dentist for an emergency. My tooth had to get extracted, and it was really kind of them to get me in on such short notice which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. I originally came in for a consultation and decided to take a referral instead of staying and having them take it out, (because Dr. Soh told me he couldn't guarantee it to get taken out). But when I got back to my car I knocked my tooth loose so I asked if they could just take it out today. (It's a saturday so my options are limited.) But during the procedure, it felt like they were in a rush. and that's where the problems arose. The numbing cream did not sit long enough so when they started putting the needle in for the anesthetic I felt every bit of it. Did this cause the doctor to be more gentle? No. It sent my body into shock so I had a panic attack. And the only person who seem to care was the receptionist. She came by and offered me a lollipop because I thought it was low blood sugar. But I was hyper ventilating. I tried so hard to stop it as this has never happened to me before. When I was able to get regular breathing in, an exasperated doctor came and they started the procedure. Every time i winced it was followed by an exasperated reaction. Annoyance that I was reacting to my pain. They continuously had to numb but due to the infection i kept feeling -everything-. I tasted everything as well. Blood, numbing medication, puss. I had to ask for a rinse at the end. Even after they got the tooth, I got half assed directions from the assistant and was ushered out swiftly. I would not go back. If you do not want to do something. Don't do it. Tell the patient you can not. That is much better than treating them like a nuisance and leaving them feel violated and uncomfortable. Due to the reviews i thought it'd be a decent experience but in the end waiting till Monday would've saved me the humiliation. read more

Worst dental experience I've had in my life. Dr. Soh was extremely disrespectful and rude, when I asked for an explanation about the procedure he insisted. Dr. Soh walked away in the mist of telling me to go to another doctor "he doesn't have time for this" while my 7 year old daughter is watching this encounter. He screamed "you don't have to pay", I was more than willing to pay.. hell I was looking to become a longtime client for him. Not anymore! His staff was phenomenal and gave me the clarity I was aiming to achieve within 2 mins. I've been going to my original dentist for 5 years since I moved to LA. Trust, Cleanliness, Great Work and Understanding are all things I expect from my dental and health care providers. Since this was a emergency and my tooth is halfway missing I thought to try the closest dentistry near me.. to my luck never again. I've been going here for years and Dr. Soh and his staff have always taken great care of me. Everyone is very friendly and the clinic is very clean. Dr. Soh and his staff are also very thorough with anything you may need to know about your teeth. They've updated their health guidelines because of covid and I felt very safe while being seen. Their website explains all of the new health updates and guidelines for their office, and the staff are very helpful if you have any questions about them. This is my primary dentist and I would not go anywhere else. If this is your first time going there the parking situation is easy. There is a parking garage right next door or you can park at one of the parking meters in front. However, they do give you validation for parking so there is no charge. read more

I will never go here again. Why? My bonded retainer had fallen out - approximately 90% that I had taken out on my own since it had become loose. What was left was the cement glue. I had called Noho Smiles to get a price estimate to have my teeth cleaned and that removed - I believe (though I'm not sure) that I spoke to Miguel? (It was a male receptionist) - he booked me an appointment for the next day and said $49. I said, "This includes removing the glue and remainder of the wire?" He goes, "Yes it includes everything." Great, right? No. First, the receptionist had a stand-off personality to me. Not friendly whatsoever. More like, "get in and GTFO because my lunch break is in 20 min." THEN I WAITED FOR 30 MINUTES before getting seen. The dentist didn't take x-rays (though I had opted out), didn't check for cavities, but he did inform me that I could get a new retainer with them (approx $200). Which was okay... I guess. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. So the dentist is cleaning them, and he is nice and friendly. He finishes.....and there is old cement and glue on the back of my teeth still.... which was the ONLY reason I came to the dentist that day. ME: "Oh... I came in to have all the glue removed, do you think you could do that?" DENTIST: "Yeah, but it will take another minute." He disappears. The receptionist appears. I'm in the chair, she says, "The REMOVAL OF YOUR RETAINER is going to cost an additional $100 on top of your $49 x-ray, cleaning, and exam fee." "OK. I spoke to someone yesterday who said it was included? I didn't get x-rays... or even an exam? The retainer is already out of my mouth..?" WTF am I supposed to do... get up, say NO, pay $50, walk out and spend more time finding another dentist, wait for another 1-7 days for an appointment, and spend another $50 to have them remove the bond? Ridiculous. I say ok, go ahead. He magically appears again and spends an extra 4 minutes getting the glue off? I walk out -$149.00 ....when I was told over the phone the "total" would be $49.00 So remember kids, NOHO SMILE CENTER TOTAL = ACTUAL TOTAL x 3 read more

Yelp is my personal guide to all things great. This place is another reason why I trust in the user reviews. I went to Smile Dental after doing some research via Yelp for a dentist in my area. I've had the same dentist since birth practically, so going to this undisclosed place is in the family. However, the dentist had since retired and the practice acquired new staff etc... we know how the change of hands go. Obviously if I'm searching for another location, wasn't roses. So here I am, going into the Smile Dental center, greeted immediately by Sofia who is a sweetheart and very patient when it comes to gathering insurance information might i add. Filled out a few new patient forms and I was taken back to what most would call the "chair of doom" and waited for the Dr. Looking around, everything is very modern, new, looked to be "the latest and greatest." I'm not necessarily sold on look & feel but I dug the modernness and layout of the place. It was designed very nicely! In the interim i was greeted by the Hygienist, who I forgot this gentleman's name but was also a very nice, professional and dedicated employee of the Dr. After he took my x-rays, loaded them onto the lovely flat screen located in front of me as i sat in the chair of doom. He proceeded to have the Dr. do his pre review and told me he'd be out to go over them with me. Soon thereafter, Dr. Soh came over , introduced himself to me and I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, i know not all dentists are in the "over 50" club but I had my own ideas of what this guy would look like and I was wrong lol. Dr. Soh is a younger generation Dentist, who I felt was more relatable to the concerns I had and what I knew to be the typical dentistry experience in the 80's, 90's to present. Don't let the young generation comment fool you. This man is very versed in his studies from NY and also worked previously at a practice located on the Miracle Mile stretch off Wilshire for those who raise an eyebrow on years in practice or location. Anyway, I cannot rave more about Dr. Soh! From his patience, kind demeanor, professionalism and honesty in the services needed. To the pride he takes in his work and newly started practice, along with his staff, makes me never want to look else where in having my teeth worked on! He even inspired me to floss on regular basis! For me, it took a lot to say that! If I could recruit business for him, I would most certainly do so. I loved the fact that he actually worked on my teeth and didn't leave all the work to his hygienist. He took the time to go over the basics, educate me on his background after answering the few dozen questions I had and listened to my rants about the previous experiences etc. We all have a story and he got an ear full lol. I truly appreciated the customer service he provided. Going to the dentist unless you are an avid flosser and have pearly whites etc, sometimes becomes a dread. I know for me, it takes a lot to make my yearly appt and bring myself to follow through. But after having Dr. Soh work on me and the superb experience I received from Noho Smile Center, it lessens the feeling of dread completely. The "chair of doom" lost it's title after walking out of this place. So I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to acquire a Dentist or change from whoever you are currently seeing. Look on the website for any specials they are running. Currently uninsured patients have a $49 dollar value for x-rays, consultation and a cleaning. Pricing not unheard of but typically the places I've seen running them, I'd rather have my wisdom teeth extracted then to allow them to touch my teeth lol. This place, not so much! Had my first appointment with Dr. Soh a few weeks ago and wanted to take the time to review the superb service and friendly staff at the office. Since I work in the Burbank vicinity, this office came up in my general search as one of the tops. After many scheduling conflicts, which Maria (front office) was extremely flexible and understanding about, I finally had the chance to go in for my cleaning/checkup. Dr. Soh's strengths are that he is very thorough and I felt extremely comfortable asking him about other issues that I've experienced with previous dentists. He was able to diagnose and explain the root causes, and tell me how to prevent them and provide treatment options without sounding like a salesman. Cannot say enough good thing about Noho Smile Center. The whole experience from when I walked in the door to when I walked out the door after was excellent. I was taken care of and had all my concerns answered. 100% recommend. I went to another dentist before Noho Smile Center and was told I had 3 cavities and it was going to cost me around $1800 to get them all fixed. At Noho Smile Center I was assured they were not anything to worry about just yet, but possibly in a few years and wouldn't cost $1800 to be fixed. And it was only 2 cavities that were starting. I'm soooo glad I came here!! I haven't been to a dentist since the pandemic started because I moved to NoHo, needed a new doctor, and also was scared of always hearing scary/bad news whenever I went to a dentist. I finally went in for a checkup, and first of all I was seen RIGHT AWAY, like within 5 minutes. I'm so used to my previous dentists where it was normal to wait 30+ minutes even if you had an appointment. The staff was so nice, they took my x-ray and said the doctor will be here in a moment, which I again expected to take at least 20-30 minutes, but the doctor also came right away! This might be normal at a good dentistry, I just wasn't used to it haha. Dr. Soh was so nice, he examined me quickly and went over all my concerns, and wasn't scary at all. I only had a checkup but I was expecting to spend at least 2 hours there, I was out in less than 30 minutes. Crazy!! And I have a deep cleaning scheduled next, looks like my insurance covers most of it so the cost isn't bad at all either. And finally, communication is GREAT! For those who hate calling on the phone like me, you can email or even text them for appointments. They respond quickly and let you know if there is a last minute opening, since schedules do fill up pretty quickly. I loved my experience here and can't wait for more. read more

1 day ago I went to see Dr. Soh to get both of my upper wisdom teeth pulled and it was the best experience ever! I was really nervous and he talked me through everything. He numbed me and then pulled my two teeth out. I was out of there in 20 minutes... literally. The numbing process took longer than him actually pulling out my teeth. It probably took him 2 minutes to get my teeth out!! I didn't feel a thing! (My wisdom teeth were pushed through the gums btw) I've had a very great experience getting my wisdom teeth out and recovery is going great as well! read more

l went in at the end of the year to get work done. Like most of us, I really didn't look forward to getting crowns done but my experience somehow made it that much easier to go for appointments. 1. Super friendly smiley staffs!! It really is a "Smile Center" ...Very welcoming office. Front desk ladies are friendly and sweet! They even reminded my appointments through my email! 2. High-tech office! They have all the newest and latest equipments. They made my temp crown in 10min! And, the office is really clean. 3. Dr. Soh is very gentle and thorough. He is great at what he does bc when he numbed me,...or did he?? I didn't feel anything!! & I came back for a follow-up due to sensitivity on my tooth...most Dr's would have made some adjustments and "Byeee" but Dr. Soh redid the crown to fix it in whole. He really cared! 4. My hygenist was very thorough and took her time to clean all my coffee stains out.
