My favorite pastry place in town! When I have a hankering for something sweet I come here first. I love all their pastries and have tried almost everything in the case. The atmosphere is nice, I like when there's art on the walls, I like to work here on my laptop, drink coffee and eat yummy sweets. The hours are great, they stay open late and during the summer that's really nice. The people working are always friendly and helpful. The look of the pastries are always beautiful I feel sad when I have to eat them but I must as they're delicious. I usually get a lemon bar, a tart, a croissant, a slice of something, creme brûlée, chocolate mousse, or a croissant. Their bathrooms are super clean it's refreshing. read more

Noisette still hits the spot. When I wrote my first review almost three years ago I hadn't made my way through all the food they have to offer. Now that I've become a regular, and tasted many of the sweet and savory options, I can say it's one of my favorite places in Eugene. The restaurant has two entrances, window seating for people-watching, some mismatched movable chairs/tables, and a water/condiments/napkins station near one of the entrances. I was greeted with eye contact and a warm smile immediately upon entering the cafe. I ordered the tomato pesto mozzarella sandwich from the display shelf. The checkout system is the standard, seen across many businesses in the area--processed via third party on an iPad pivoted on a turnstile that allows you to sign with your finger and add the ingeniously (not so secretly) prepopulated 18% tip. The bread of my $8 sandwich was bland, and the sandwich itself was probably made in the morning so it did not taste as fresh as I'd like. There was also almost no pesto on the bread; each bite was dry and unfulfilling. The lemon bar was unmistakably eggy. I know it takes eggs to make a lemon bar, but I didn't pay$2.50 to eat a sugary egg. The kitchen is visible from the dining area, an interesting concept. read more

Wow. Just wow. This was my first time coming here, but I am beyond impressed. I got a coconut cream torte & a "cloud cookie" and both looked and tasted amazing. I will for sure be back. I originally came in to try a carrot cake cupcake someone I know was raving about... but they didn't have any. Will definitely be back for one of those cause I can only imagine how good it is! We got a special order cake here was my experience on pickup. 1. I showed up and there are two entrances with no line, people cut in front of each other and the staff seemed uninterested. 2. The cake box couldn't be closed according to the staff it would damage the flowers used for decoration, so they taped the box propped open and sent me outside on a super rainy day. 3. The cake top was cracked, decoration was definitely sub par. My conclusion: The cake was delicious, however it was ugly and the service was extremely sub par. Considering this was three times the cost of a sweet life cake we'll be doing sweet life moving forward. read more

We love this place but we got two kinds of soups today - carrot vanilla bean and chicken noodle - and they both had a sour vinegary taste. $18 wasted. This would definitely be one of those special 'must-go-to' dining places in Eugene. A co-worker brought me here knowing I only had a week left in the area, saying it was a great lunch spot that I couldn't miss. The place has been around about 2 years and is run by a husband/wife team of culinary wizards. The second you walk into Noisette, you are greeted by the pleasant aroma of grilled breads/meats/cheeses - whatever the exact combo is, you'll think you've died and gone to food heaven! You order and pay up front at the register, choosing your meal from a rotating menu of daily selections which are pre-made and housed behind several glass cases. There are sandwiches, soups + biscuits, and pot pies for entrees (just to name a few) and a dizzying array of delicious baked goods for dessert - tarts, mousses, marshmallows, cakes, macaroons, etc. You choose where you want to sit; there are tables and a counter which looks out on the street, which is a good location for people watching - one of the funnest things to do in Eugene! ;) Afterwards, you bus your own table. The atmosphere is really great here - concrete floors, moody lighting, cool wall art. And I got the impression that it's a good place to study or read at - none of the staff seemed perturbed that several patrons had set up shop at various tables with their computers and busywork. I highly recommend the mozzarella/tomato/basil sandwich. The baguette alone is fantastic! My friend and I also tried the almond/chocolate macaroons, which were sheer perfection! I'm still giving this place the 5 stars it deserves. I decided to review Noisette again since I've been making my trips to the cafe more than usual. My job is at the local mall and on Tuesdays I open the store I work in, this results in my commuting to the Eugene station and on from there. I usually have 30 minutes to kill before my bus comes. So I dash over to Noisette for a light breakfast. This normally includes one of their croissants. They're smaller than most, but they pack a lot of flavor. There is a nice variety to the croissants, sometimes it's mushroom and leak, or chorizo and cheddar, etc. What's really great is that they heat up your croissant, with the weather starting to drop in temperature over the last few days, a warm pastry for breakfast is the best way for me to start an opening shift. The service is as good as it has ever been. When I walk in, the girls behind the counter are ready to take my order, at this point I frequent enough that one or two of them remember that I prefer my pastry heated up. Remembering regulars earns a lot of points in my book. I make it practice when I handle my own customers. The cafe itself continues to look wonderful clean and hosts a great deal of local art and advertises local theatrical productions in the window. It's a very welcoming atmosphere. Naturally, as you can see by the state of my review, I would recommend this cafe to anyone in the mood for wonderful baked goods. read more

I have a vision... that this corner pastry kitchen will single-handedly revitalize downtown Eugene & bring cheer (by way of perfectly caramelized sugar) to the lonely denizens that span up & down E. Broadway, and out toward 18th. The other day, I was walking down the street toward the library, strawberry preserve & cream cheese brioche in hand (okay lies, it was in my mouth) thinking about how incredibly happy I was (and concurrently, how lucky we are) to have access to such an excellent pastry shop. Noisette's convenient location (combined with its beautiful open & light-filled space, its comfortable seating, its (refillable!) coffee, and its classy pastry selection) has, thus far, been awesome for my stomach & totally unfortunate for my wallet. With its arrival (and the arrivals/anticipated openings of a bunch of other great places downtown) I'm going to have to take a serious second look at my budget so I can reallocate my money toward ...lemon tarts, primarily. :) For newcomers, a tip: Go early in the morning, when things are freshly baked & at their peak of deliciousness/abundance. And definitely try the following: -Bostock (A textural party in your mouth(!!)- it's fluffy, crunchy, moist & silky all at once) -Chocolate caramel tart -Cured salmon sandwich (Best. Sandwich. Ever. House-cured salmon with mustard seeds, scallions, cucumber & orange sesame mustard sauce on grilled sourdough) -Sausauge cheddar brioche -Strawberry preserve & cream cheese brioche -Lemon meringue tart The only bone of contention I have with Noisette's pastries is how fast they disappear in my mouth. :( I suppose I could eat slower... but they're so tasty that they just seem to evanesce before my eyes. Walked in at random, was just looking for a nice quick iced coffee, they don't have a iced house coffee so I snagged a cold brew. The pastries in the case looked killer so I had to grab a double chocolate cake thing (can't remember the name haha). The cold brew was very earthy tasting but good, definitely not ranking in the best cold brews I've had but if I'm ever in the area it would be more prioritized than typical places. The cake slice was super thin considering the price but the taste was deadly good; super-b cake, definitely will be back to try more desserts here! read more

I am not a big pastry person, but this place suckers me in every time I'm near it! I especially appreciate that many of their pastries are smaller. We have become accustomed to "larger than life" serving sizes in the US but this place offers more reasonable options. I really wanted to like this place based on Michale D's tips below. However, I've received the worst customer experience thus far being in Eugene. I came in about 10AM hungry and looking forward to fresh baked goods with a side of ham or bacon. The girl at the register didn't greet me. I had to get her attention. I even went above above and beyond and told her it was my first time and asked for recommendations. I'm the easiest hungry customer you can sell to. She replied by pointing to the displayed baked goods and sweets, "That's all we have. What do you want?" She was lethargic and non-enthusiastic about the pastries. Okay, if she's not showing excitement over them, that's an indication that I should go elsewhere. I've tried giving her another chance by asking how about a menu, is one available? She simply shrugged. Wow, someone should've called in today if they didn't want to be at work. Not coming back. Plenty of pastry shop for me to try. read more

I've been to Noisette a few times now and I'm generally impressed. Those are some damn good pastries. I love the industrial ambiance, open kitchen, painted concrete floors, and nifty window walls that open (those have a name, that's going to drive me crazy). Every pastry and bread and baked good has been pure, real, and beautifully executed. The crusts and croissants are unbelievably flaky. The bread is gorgeous and flavorful. I haven't gone wrong. My only critique of the pastries is the chocolate caramel tart was overpowered such that the caramel was undetectable. It was good, just not what I was hoping for. What I'm not fond of: no internet. Seriously, guys? Get on that. Please don't drive me into a Starbucks next time I need to have a working lunch. The sandwiches have been hit or miss, and sometimes both at once. The pulled pork sandwich could have been really good except it was so slathered in sugary sweet bbq sauce, I had a hard time eating it. And yet, at the same time, I really enjoyed the crusted pork edges and the tangy slaw. So, go for the pastries, but don't expect to get much done while you're there. read more

I went to Noisette for lunch with a friend during my most recent Oregon trip. It was later than the traditional lunch hour, so we actually didn't have a problem finding parking in this downtown portion of Eugene. I was glad that my friend drove, since I was more unfamiliar with the area. It's all street parking around this area, but we managed to find a stall that wasn't too far from Noisette. Noisette is cute and is similar to Sweet Life Patisserie, but Sweet Life has a bigger selection and has more sweets. Noisette has a good balance of sweet and savory items. While the assortment of sandwiches and entrée-like items looked delicious, I just chose one of the savory items for lunch since it was already later and I wanted to eat light. Noisette wasn't even crowded during the time of our visit, so after we ordered, we snagged one of the nearby tables while we waited for our food to be heated up. I really enjoyed my quiche and would definitely want to try some of the other menu items. I can see how this quaint café would be busy during peak lunch hours, but I'm glad we had a relaxing time there. At Noisette, you can get cups of water and help yourself to utensils, and you also bus your own table when you're done. Here's what we got: "Savory Tart": I love my savory tart, which was like a quiche. This tart featured leeks, mushrooms, collard greens, potato, bleu cheese and cheddar cheese. I chose this savory tart because I absolutely love bleu cheese and potatoes. This savory blend was incredible. The cheeses were perfectly melted, and there was a good mixture of greens, mushrooms and potatoes. The crust of this quiche (it was more like a quiche than a tart) was buttery and flaky; I'm not sure if they change up their tarts daily, but I was really pleased with this selection. "Chicken Pot Pie": I was looking at the fabulous selection of pot pies, and the choices included lamb, beef, chicken or winter vegetable. I would want to try the chicken pot pie if this were available again. "Chocolate Caramel Tart": If I were looking for a salty-sweet treat, this is one I would have ordered. The tart looked delicious and completely chocolaty, but I think I noticed sea salt crystals on top. Sometimes salty-sweet treats can be a hit or miss option, but I'm willing to take my chances and try this dessert from Noisette. "Chocolate Brownies": I'm a sucker for sweets, so if I were just getting a snack here, I would go for one of these fudgy chocolate brownies. Brownies have to be one of my favorite pastries, and these brownies from Noisette looked really rich and chocolaty. Brownies need to be moist and dense, and the ones from Noisette look promising. read more

What an amazing, lovely little bakery! I've only been once, but I have to say that I can't wait to go back and spend more time there! I went to Noisette with my mother, and we both bee-lined for the goodies case where we spent the next 5-6 minutes ooohing and ahhhing over all the good looking baked goods. I was feeling like a fat kid (well I always do) and I wanted something both savory and sweet. So I opted for a savory bread pudding, and a lemon bar. My mother went with a cinnamon apple scone. Firstly, I definitely think that I should have had my bread pudding heated up. It was delicious but I think it would have been imminently better if it was hot. The lemon bar was lovely, nice and lemony the curd soft and smooth while the powdered sugar was quite generous. My mom's apple cinnamon scone.....omg. I loved it, it was perfectly light and airy rather than dense and doughy. There was real apple chunks in the scone, and they were perfectly sized, not too big, or too small. I cannot wait to come back and spend some more time here, and eat more food here. read more

We carpooled to downtown from Santa Clara area, parked and fed the meter. We walked in and were greeted, although I see that's been a common complaint from other Yelpers. We had been excited to try some pastries and coffee together before doing some shopping about town. The problem was we immediately noticed half of the pastries were sitting out, uncovered and had many flies buzzing about, sitting all over the pastries. That was a huge turn off and we decided to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Really didn't want to eat pastries that had had flies crawling all over them. The problem could be remedied by installing another display case on which to store them. It seems very unsanitary to leave the food out in the open and uncovered. We all 3 were grossed out without even having had the full discussion about it yet. Disappointed we weren't able to give this place a try! read more

I went here twice in one day! We ate breakfast here in the morning, and closed it down with the wine bar at night! My pastry in the morning was amazing-very savory, and the berry muffin was moist and flaky. I had the most fun being there on Friday night. The place turned from a cute cafe into a fun, lively, wine bar. There was music and dessert. I got the special, which was a molten lava cake. Delicious! His dessert was a mousse, which was also good. This place is your typical artisanal bakery. Seating is plentiful and coffee refills are only 50 cents so I can see it being a good study spot. They ran out of coffee while we were there and they replenished the supply within 2 minutes. I had a ham, potato, and leek bread. Even though they warned it, I expected it to be hotter. I also had their chocolate chip oatmeal cookie which looked absolutely delightful, but I was disappointed to find it almost unbearably crunchy. I couldn't even break off a part for fear of shattering the treat and losing it on the floor. It's definitely a coffee-dunking cookie. Saw a list of local black owned businesses and it got me looking up Noisette. Once I saw the pictures I was convinced I needed to try everything lol. My husband ran and grabbed $40 worth of random deliciousness and OMG, everything from savory hand pies to macaroons, to tarts and muffins.... EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!!! Even something as simple as a BlackBerry brown butter muffin was life changing. It's a bit pricey but it's absolutely worth the quality.
