5 stars? Yes! It's a dairy freeze style place with amazing fried shrimp. I had the biggest, most perfectly fried shrimp. Top notch quality shrimp. I also had a fresh, fluffy baked potato. Mike had the fat boy burger. It was really good . It has a unique sauce that I had no issue with, but Mike was not a fan of. Great bun and fresh toppings. Hand pattied meat. The onion rings are hand battered flour based and are to die for. The homemade salad dressings are delicious The service was amazing. The woman who took our order cares so much about your food and experience that you would think she owns it. The young lady with her was so bubbly and talkative. An all around great experience. I've eaten here MANY times and NEVER have I had a less than great experience. Today I had a fantastic fried oyster po-boy with tater tots, and even though I had to eat in the truck (Pea-Soups was PACKED apparently for Grandparents Day) I still had a great meal. The staff here are adamant about when busy, not allowing patrons to save tables as they walk in the door. That way those ordering first have a seat choice first. I like that. But I also like the burgers and roast beef po-boys. I have yet to find something on the menu that's just mediocre. read more

If I could give this charming little place 10 stars I would every time. The food is off the chain. The cutest little local spot that has the best Original "Floating burger" & the lightest battered shrimp on the planet that just melt in your mouth :)... The chili on the floating burger is house made, like old fashion chili dog chili 2.Die for. We like it with cheese & the slaw. You have to eat it with a fork & knife amazballs with their tator tots. The little side salad is so yummy and they make their own ranch & 1000 island so so good! Get the salad :).. The shrimp, fish, po'boy's and platters are superb. The fish/shrimp is always super fresh, batter is the lightest, cooked to perfection YUM! :)... Superb seafood everything. Can't go wrong here. Also the Roast beef po'boy is not to be missed omg :)... This is not the same place. Closed Saturday Sunday and Monday. Also if you get there past 6.45 in the evening they are closing. Who buys a restaurant and doesn't want to work. I give. It was good, but I think I would rather go traditional on my burgers in the future. I think it was the curiosity that got me on this one. I don't know what the previous person was talking about. I'm out here in Mississippi working on a project, and my partner and I dropped into this little place because the parking lot was full. Thought it might be good since it was popular. While we waited for a table, they took our order at the counter. You can tell this is a local place since it seemed everyone knew each other (Indianola is a small rural cotton town). So, it wouldn't surprise me that the last reviewer was either family or friend. I ordered the catfish Po Boy sandwich with a side of "homemade" onion rings. The sandwich was on an airy bun with a lukewarm fish filet, limpy lettuce and a swab of tartar sauce. So much for their "Cooked To Order". It wasn't hot enough to be deep fried. The onion rings weren't any better. Small....I mean SMALL stringy onions (hey, onions are cheap...make them thick and big!) and deep fried with a batter that falls off easily. Terrible, actually. Didn't enjoy the sandwich or the onion rings. My partner had their pulled pork sandwich. Pork was good, he said, but the bun was a simple hamburger bun. The potato salad wasn't anything special. They admitted it wasn't homemade. Should have been. The bill for my sandwich and onion rings and Pepsi was over $10.00!! Yikes! Save your money, unless you want to hang out with family and friends. So what if they've been there for 40 years. The original owners would have been disgraced by how bad its become unless they were equally as bad. Too bad there weren't any black people in this place eating. Tells alot about the division in the south. So sad. I haven't been able to find a decent BBQ in this town, either! We stopped here driving through Indianola on our MS Blues Trail journey bc it was pouring rain and we had to take a break. Excellent service, very friendly and welcoming. Very quick service, received our food within 5-10 minutes. My burger was delicious... probably one of my new favorites in the Delta (along with Airport Grocery - very similar styles of burger). Great potato salad as a side. Fries were generic. My girlfriend got a catfish po boy and said that it was just ok. I'll definitely be going back. It is very quick and very reasonably priced. My sisters and I visited this place recently. I thought that since one of my sisters had been visiting the place pretty often I would try it out. Anyway I didn't unwrap my order until I made it home. Big mistake! I ordered a double cheeseburger and chili cheese tots. When I opened it up I had a single cheeseburger with a little mayo and mustard, no cheese at all, tater tots were soggy and unappetizing and the whole order looked like it was thrown together. I only ate it cause I was hungry and didn't have time to take it back. I read someone else's review which stated they were prejudiced and I got that exact same vibe myself. 0 stars, would not recommend and I'm never going back! Really friendly staff. Came in for lunch, the menu looks good. Asked the young lady for suggestions she was really knowledgable and helpful. Settled on the catfish & shrimp combo.. I was told that the food at this establishment was very good. I ordered a hamburger and fries as a take out order. They were not even HOT almost on the cold side. The burger had no flavor. Seems like the meat was the pre-packaged hamburger meat. Nothing special. The bun was awful. The fries were just regular crinkle cut fries and they seemed like that had been fried for a while. This was my worst experience of food I have eaten in Indianola, MS. Based on the clientele, most of the people are local regulars.
