Loved this gem that my friend took me to! I'm a fan of local ice-cream stores so seeing the different flavors was super interesting and I sampled some and really was intrigued. Service was quick and very friendly. There is some indoor seating but also there's a really pretty fountain outside and there's outdoor seating. I can't wait to try it again when I'm in the area!

Awesome tasting ice cream! They have unique flavors like purple colored taro ice cream. I was told by the staff they use fresh taro. I had the flight which consisted of 6 mini scoops so I could try a variety of flavors; they were all good. Definitely give them a try if you're in Windermere and craving ice cream.

I've been following KKandbabyJ for years so of course we had to stop by when we were in Orlando! My husband got the Taro Ice Cream and I got the Vietnamese Che Ice Cream. Both were great picks! I love that there are so many unique flavor options that you can't really find anywhere else. There isn't plenty of seating inside but we were able to sit outside by the fountain. Looking forward to coming back the next time we're in the area!

I first heard of Nola's because of my sister being a big fan of KKandbabyJ, and she really hyped this place up. I kind of figured she just liked it because she was a fan, but still wanted to try this place out. And the hype is justified! Regardless of who the owners are. When we first walked in, another customer was already raving to us how much she liked this spot and how the ice cream was super creamy. The workers are super friendly and the shop is such a cute spot. You get to try 4 samples of the ice cream flavors, so I tried strawberry lychee, Vietnamese che, banana pudding, and hojicha brown sugar milk tea. I'm not the biggest ice cream fan, but all of these flavors were delicious. The texture itself was indeed really creamy, and they're somehow able to really make the flavors of each come through pretty strongly without tasting artificial. I also got the Vietnamese iced coffee, which I was a little uncertain about because it can be a hit or miss. But it was definitely a hit here. It tastes really authentic and it was perfectly sweetened.

The girl at the counter was very knowledgeable about the all of the different ice cream varieties, made sure to ask about allergies, sample requests and was spot on with flavor descriptions. She was so sweet! I ordered the hojicha brown sugar milk tea and the Thai tea- double scoop! The prices are fair for the unique flavors and quality. Both flavors were just the right amount of sweet. I loved the earthy tones of the hojicha and the Thai tasted like it was like actual brewed tea! Loved both and I will be back to try the other flavors!

Yummy little ice cream spot! They let you try 4 flavors per person - I tried the hojicha, taro milk, Vietnamese Che, and the black sesame. I ended up getting the Vietnamese Che with rainbow sprinkles. It was super yummy and I loved the pandan and red bean flavors! I usually get the strawberry lychee which is a really yummy vegan option!

This place is in such a nice location. It's cozy and the young lady helping us was so nice! I got the coffee and it was definitely strong but kept me up on my two hour drive back home. I was able to try some of the flavors - hope to get the ice cream next time.

Cute little Vietnamese inspired ice cream shop tucked away amongst other restaurants. It is very small inside, so don't plan on eating the ice cream there. There is only one small counter with two chairs. There were about 16 flavors, some of them flavors I've never heard of. I loved the unique options. They only allow each customer four free samples, but that was enough for me. I really enjoyed the Taro sample I had but decided on the Vietnamese coffee, and I'm glad I did, because it was one of the best coffee ice creams I've had in a long time. I tried a bit of my husband's dark chocolate and thought it was just ok. My som ordered the birthday cake. Again, I thought his flavor was just ok, but he really enjoyed it. The lady behind the counter was really sweet and, when I said I wanted him to have a cone but the cones were too big, offered a mini sampler cone for him, with a mini scoop on top, and it was the perfect size! I only wish there was seating inside to make it a bit more welcoming, especially bringing my toddler with me.

Taro ice cream - 5 dollars for a single scoop

After a good dinner at Dragonfly, I wanted to go next door and give this place a try. The inside area is pretty small and it was a bit crowded, but I was greeted by a friendly attendant. He was nice to let me sample the Thai tea and taro flavors, and I ordered the single scoop taro ice cream in a cup. I paid at the counter, and sat outside near the fountain. The ice cream was creamy and had a nice taro flavor, but wished the flavor was a bit stronger. It was quite small for about 5 dollars, but still was a good choice as I had tried many of the desserts at Dragonfly, and wanted to try some ice cream for a bit lower price. There wasn't much seating inside, but there were some tables outside near the fountain. Thus, Nola's is a great place to enjoy cool ice cream after a nice dinner, or a hot day outside. I wish the portions were a bit larger for the price, but still a cheaper option if you are looking for a light dessert compared to the restaurants in the same complex.

Mini flight: ca phe sua da, hojicha, taro, thai tea, strawberry lychee sorbet, Vietnamese che

Great little shop :) the employee helping us was very nice and welcoming! She was very cheerful and complimented our flavor choices. My favorite was the strawberry lychee sorbet, but all of the flavors were pretty good! The flight is $14 for 6 flavors on small cake cones, which I think is pretty worth it. I would come again if I was in the area :)

OMG guys... I have found my new favorite ice cream spot in Orlando! Nola is a new Vietnamese/Asian fusion ice cream parlor that recently opened and it has all the charm! Located in the restaurant row area of Dr. Phillips, this shop is located up stairs right next to Dragonfly sushi. The shop itself was very clean and the decor was very chic. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by the lovely staff and were offered some tastings. Nola had a variety of flavors, there were flavors that are more common and there were some that I have never even seen before. We opted to go with the ice cream flight which allowed us to choose from a scoop of 4 different flavors and one topping each. For our flight we chose the Che (traditional Vietnamese dessert), brown sugar milk tea, strawberry lychee, and mango coconut. Every single flavor was phenomenal! My top 2 favorites hands down were the Che and mango coconut... both were so creamy and flavorful. Overall, I had such a great first experience at Nola. I cannot wait to come back to try all the other flavors and to see what other things they have in store for their business that's coming in the near future!

Our friend recommended we come here and it didn't not disappoint! It was literally the only place in the plaza that was busy ---hojicha milk tea: creamy, nice tea flavor, so good i wanted a 2nd scoop after it first Wish they opened earlier than 2pm when we came but otherwise great!

    Christina S.

Absolutely delicious! The employees aside are so friendly and helpful! I sampled the salted caramel, the Vietnamese, coffee, the Thai tea, the chocolate one and a brookie monster. I love that the brookie monster is not with artificial coloring, but rather Spira Leena! I will definitely be back with the kids. It is super cute inside when they have their own restrooms, unfortunately There is basically no seating other than a couple of seats. So if it's raining, this is probably not the place to come to because you will have to sit outside by the fountain. It was an absolute delicious ice cream though, and I will definitely be back.

We started with the crispy chicken dumplings--crispy on the outside with a juicy, tender chicken filling. Perfect way to kick things off. We continued with three items: Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho), Orange Chicken, and Sautéed Cubed Beef "Shaking Beef" (Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc). The Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho) was heaven on a dish. The beef stew was easily the standout--rich, flavorful, and the beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The vermicelli noodles were just as impressive. Just reminiscing about it makes my mouth water. The "Shaking Beef" was served over white rice (highly recommend), and every bite was better than the last. The garlic butter sauce really takes it over the top. Don't be fooled by the Orange Chicken--Boneless chicken, fried perfectly and coated in their authentic sweet orange sauce. The best Orange Chicken in town, hands down. No chance of leftovers here--you won't want to put your fork down.

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype at all. The broth was unbelievably bland--almost like flavored hot water. It lacked the rich, savory depth that's the heart of a good pho. I kept mixing the soup, hoping the flavor had just sunk to the bottom, but no. Worst $20 wasted ever. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but this was one of the most disappointing bowls of pho I've had, especially considering all the positive reviews.

I think any time you go to a restaurant that serves a type of ethnic cuisine, they focuses on the main or big dishes. For example, Vietnamese restaurants will always feature pho somehow and Cuban restaurants will always feature the Cuban sandwich in some capacity. However, street food or dishes that are small and meant for grab and go and sharing and to be affordable is not often featured at big sit down restaurants. The other thing is when street food is featured on a fancy sit down menu, the small plates and street food always cost more than it should in my opinion. Z Asian really surprised me in that I didn't think the prices were to unfair and it still felt elevated. They are a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. We went here for a date night after watching Obsession. By the way, the movie is one of the best horror movies of this year in my opinion and I think a lot of people's opinion. We parked in the back lot as they don't really have a whole lot of street parking. That was confusing entering the restaurant since we entered from the back and it wasn't clear if the restaurant was open or if we walked in through the wrong door. We got seated fast and the waitress was really nice and engaging. We ordered banh khot, which is basically a mini banh xeo. Banh khot is an eggy crepe mixture that is panfried into a circle and a small amount of seafood is placed into the middle of it. It's small and finger food sized and served with pickled veggies and fresh lettuce and fish sauce to drizzle or dip. My rating is a 9.5/10. It was crispy and full of flavor. We also tried the mango tofu salad. It's similar to a ceviche. This was a 9/10. It has a little heat to it but very good and not too wet. We then ordered grilled mussels with is what it sounds like. It's mussels halves grilled with fish sauce and crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. I rate this a 8/10. I never see this in restaurants. On a good day, I can crush like 20 of these and call it girl dinner. We got the grilled corn as well. This is corn kernels grilled in butter and garlic topped with Sriracha. I rate this a 6.5/10. I think it's a good street dished but it underwhelmed me because it's just the corn and there wasn't a vehicle to deliver it to my mouth. The last item we tried was the grilled chicken rice noodles. This was a flavorful dish of veggies and chicken and rice noodles that are cooked in a pan. The rating is a 8.5/10. My overall rating is 9/10. They bill was on the higher end but I felt like it was worth the food we were eating the service and ambiance.
