Giuseppe Sr. showed me the same skill, care and attention to detail as my childhood barber and beyond. In under fifteen minutes he had given me a hard-part skin fade that, if you had googled images of that phrase, could have been the first hit. We talked very little but he understood exactly what I wanted, better than I was expressing it. He traced my neckline with hot lather and a straight razor like an artist would paint on canvas. He was gentle but swift with surgical precision. He didn't wrap up until he was completely satisfied by his own work, and then came the hot towel and light massage. We shook hands, he offered me an espresso and I was BLOWN AWAY when I was charged only $30. That's one thing very few reviews or general posts mention in black and white-- I'm sure they get into higher pricepoints the more you get done but for my experience I found this to be an exceptional value. I've paid $25 for shitty stripmall haircuts, I truly couldn't believe the best cut I'd gotten in twenty years came at such a reasonable price. He barely cut my sides even, though I showed him a photo of the burst skin fade I wanted and specifically said to use scissors, so now I had a weird bob look with my side and top almost being the same length. Had to stop him and say because he cut it too short I'd prefer he just do a mid skin fade to salvage it, he says he'll take care of it but then just uses the clippers to shave it down, not even doing what I asked for a second time. I pulled my phone out and looked up photos of what I was talking about but he just ignored me. Finished up and noticed he didn't even cut both sides evenly. I tried to show him, using my fingers to hold up my hair length so he can see how obviously the lengths were different, but he just walked to the register to ring me up.
