Amidst my calls, I receive an automated email that my 12:45 appointment has been cancelled. This is extremely poor client management. What's particularly absurd is that this would have been my first time getting a haircut here. I guess the business is doing so well they don't need to convert new customers to regulars. I'll be sure to spread the word to my entire network. This is a good reminder to not trust a retail shop whose last review is over 1 year old.

My usual barber Astrit was on vacation at the time so the folks recommended me a barber whose name I could not remember except that he shared Astrit's heritage. I was given espresso and biscuits and the barber went down to work. As we converse, he also worked on the shape up, never forgetting to take out the mirror for me to see the results. What sets it apart from most barbershops in White Plains, which were mostly urban and working class, is the setting with a brick wall facing the barber chairs and mostly catering to a middle class clientele, but there is no competition whatsoever between the shop and others as far as I know. Sometimes, I just need to get pampered for lack of a better word. One of these days, a shave would be nice, but I am in no rush at the moment!

The point we tried to make with the woman is the service booked wasn't provided. She kept saying that we paid less anyway and would give our money back. We didn't want our money back or to argue but wanted them to be more considerate when providing a service. They should look at the service that the client booked. She was sharp and curt and it was pointless to continue. We received a review from the business that my mom had completed for me. Simple, nothing rude but not recommending the business because they don't carefully make sure a client gets the service they book. WELL don't send for feedback if you can't control your feelings when you don't like the feedback! NOPE!! We would not recommend this business to ANYONE and there are far too many of men's salons to enjoy without the attitude! For the past 3 years I've been going to his barber Will and in the past month I don't if something has happened in Will's personal life but he has been rude, unprofessional, and hostile to say the least. We had an issue with the appointment service that Royalty Chop Shop uses. I called the shop 3 times, six hours before my appointment, all calls sent to voicemail. I called and texted Will, no answer. I even called and texted the owner Alex, with no answer. Even when I rescheduled online, I called again to try and confirm my appointment was to be rescheduled for the next day. Still no answer. When I called the next day, they confirmed the shop was closed and rescheduled, then hung up. They then called me back to tell me to reschedule again, wanting to charge me for a second time. After telling them the many times I called, Will jumped on the phone and told me that he is a busy man and it's not his job to pick up clients phone calls or text. When I told him that I called the shop he said it wasn't his job and since I was his only client that had a problem with their software that I can find another barber. I haven't received my refund and I called Alex and left messages countless times. I'll find another barber, but if this is the type of business you're going to run with short tempered young kids that don't have good communication skills and bring personal problems to work and take them out on paying customers then you will fail. Hundreds of barbers in White Plains alone, find a new shop!

His studio is in a shared working space with other hair and makeup studios - very cool concept. But his studio feels very private, I loved this aspect - its not like most salons where other people are waiting and watching you get your haircut. Nice setup! I went for the 45 min haircut experience, most of the other places I've been have been 20-30 min. He really took his time to understand the type of cut I wanted and the length, we started a bit longer so I could see if thats what I wanted first. He used various techniques which was fun to watch, you can tell this guy enjoys his craft. He is super friendly, easy to talk to but not overbearing.
