I visited Nolia (short for Magnolia, the state flower of Louisiana and home of the owner) on a Monday night and it was the level of excellence you would expect on a Friday or Saturday. Craft cocktails, charcuterie boards, tapas, and full plates available. The staff is friendly and attentive. Food was excellent; so good I decided to dive in and forgot to take pictures. My husband and I came back with my 2 adult children + their two significant others and my 12 year old for my birthday dinner (party of 7). I have noticed that previous reviews mentioned issues with sluggish service and pricey food and while I will acknowledge that food service feels a little slow and portions are definitely smaller compared to a chain restaurant, you are paying for more than just a meal here, you're getting an experience. Do not expect to walk in, order, and rush out in 30 minutes. The care and the skill that goes into creating this type of food takes time and dinner probably will last more than an hour. Do not plan on going home with a doggie bag. But the menu is structured in such a way that you can easily order more if you are still hungry and it shouldn't break the bank. Most of the plates are around $15.00. For this evenings meal, our group quickly decided to do tapas style so that we could try whatever piqued anyone's interest and not only did service feel much smoother because food was regularly being brought/delivered to our table, but I also got to try every last thing I wanted to try on the menu. Dinner felt perfectly paced for our group and we had an absolutely wonderful time chatting around the table and sharing plates, with each of us taking a turn to pounce on the last bite of our newly identified "favorite dish". And then the next dish would come out and someone would undoubtably decide, "Nope, nope, I was wrong before, THAT was my favorite dish!" Food was brought out as it was prepared with our table eagerly grabbing each plate and delighting in the succulent, delicious, flawlessly executed morsels. New/additional dishes we tried were the crawfish etoufee, red beans and rice, gumbo, and tender beef and mushrooms. I don't know what else to say about this restaurant, except that by the end of our meal my adult son was remarking "OMG, what?! WHAT? You have got to be KIDDING ME." after each bite. Our evening ended with my son remarking to me "Mom, I hate to say this to you, but I think their crawfish etoufee might be better than yours." My 12 year old then sheepishly admitted the red beans and rice were definitely better than mine. And even though we were there to celebrate my birthday, I wasn't even mad about it because yes. Yes her crawfish etoufee and red beans ARE better than mine. Go try it. I could cry I am so delighted to have found this restaurant. read more

Was here for the 1st time during Restaurant Week. Had Crawfish Etoufee (bland), Short Rib Bolognese (meat very scarce) and Duck Confit (soggy skin, again bland even after I sent it back). Service was very spotty even though plenty of employees standing around. And a pet peeve of mine, they bring your next dish when you haven't even eaten half of the current dish...like they are trying to push you out the door! I love Cajun and Creole food, but this experience will not be cause for a return visit. read more

We've been to this establishment multiple times and the small plates are enticing while the meals are the right size, not too small, but not too big. The chef takes great pride and what they do and the wine bar itself keeps the selection on hand that is very user-friendly. They always start you off with a small glass of Prosecco Set the right ambience. Came here on a Saturday night. Made reservations and seated immediately. It's a small place so make sure to make reservations. What impressed me the most was their variety of wines and charcuterie boards. We ended up getting the luxe. Good charcuterie board but I expected more exotic cheeses. We ordered a ton of small plates but the stand out was the grilled cheese sandwich (we ordered two orders so our table basically ate a grilled cheese sandwich each). The crawfish and the gumbo were tasty and spicy as well. Cute little place. Fantastic dinner at Nolia! My wife and I were in the mood to try something new last night and came across Nolia. Although there were so many options, the wait staff was very helpful in providing some recommendations. Joe was especially amazing and even gave us a complimentary wine sampling upon our arrival. We tried a little bit of everything but the potatoes, duck confit and Mahi Mahi tacos were outstanding. We finished off the meal with their Creme Brûlée which capped off a perfect meal. We told Joe that we will be back again to try some other items on our next visit since the options were too many to try in one visit. I've never heard of this restaurant before but I'm so glad I found it. This place is great! Sadly there weren't many people dining here so I hope that this place can become more popular in the future. Upon arrival, we were given a small taste of sparkling wine which was a cute touch. There are endless options of wine and charcuterie on their menu. What I really loved was that you could choose a pre-selected board or build out your own. There was so much variety to this menu and I loved their smaller bites as well. They even have a small chefs choice board that is a perfect size for one person. The service was wonderful and our waiter was very nice. Also the interior of this restaurant is so cute! This is the perfect place to meet with friends for a lovely meal. read more

The artwork that adorns the walls makes the small place feel even smaller and the artwork itself with its images gives a dark vibe to the otherwise lovely space, the teeny tiny tables are also hard to sit at with little room for drinks/menu/plates. This place is fantastic. Very relaxed vibe, great drinks and wonderful food. How can you say no to Happy Hour every single day? Excellent small plates, a wealth of cajun dishes with inspired flavors and a great service staff round out a wonderful experience. I highly recommend sitting at the bar to enjoy the humor and poise of the front of house staff. Or if you want a more intimate setting, the 2nd dining room showcases a fascinating collection of paintings. Recommendations from our evening included, but were not limited to, the crab cakes, mussels, and etouffee. As well, we all very much enjoyed our bottle of Quilt as well as a few of the house-created cocktails. BTW, they have a vast wine selection. We had a reservation for a late Mother's Day dinner celebration for eight of us. We found the wine selection, the service, the atmosphere and the food all to be excellent and inviting. Jeff took great care of us and everyone who came by was willing to help with whatever we needed. We loved the mix of the art and the plants. My husband and I enjoy spending our money on meals out and drinking wine. We were excited to try Nolia as it was recommended in a local Highlands Ranch group. Unfortunately the service really fell flat. Of all the meals we've had out in the last 7-8 years, the service for this one was by far the absolute worst we've ever experienced. We showed up on a Friday before they had gotten busy and sat at the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board. I'm embarrassed to say we even waited this long, but it took 2+ hours to get even a charcuterie board. We were given ONE water refill, and we had to ask for it. Our server pretty much ghosted us. The first time we asked where our food was the gal said she'd check and never came back. The second time we said if it wasn't ready then we'd like our check for the wine and would be leaving. It magically appeared then. We were never apologized to. We addressed the bad service with a manager who gave us a 10% discount, but still, never apologized. We will not be returning and i would adamantly discourage anyone else from wasting their night out on this place. read more

Dined at Nolia last night, and it is a happening restaurant! So glad to see so much business! The ambience was upscale and elegantly casual, even including an alfresco option. Service was excellent and prompt. The shared-waiter concept afforded excellent attention to the customer. I especially loved the food, though my dining partner was caught off guard by the spiciness. I did not find it too. Highly spaced and enjoyed every mouthful. Crawfish étouffée has always been a favorite of mine, and it was superb. I also enjoyed creole tomato, which was crab salad stuffed in a perfectly fresh tomato and was delightful. My dining partner got the gumbo, which was just a little too spicy for her but she's a not a very adventurous diner. She ordered the cornbread and it was fabulous and she really dove into that. The menu was extensive and the wine list was satisfyingly abundant with copious options for both. I definitely recommend this dining spot and as an "aside" for those who don't know the owner of Nolia also owns the plant gallery across the parking lot, which is an outstanding shop for plants which you should visit while there if it's during open hours of The Plant Gallery. In Greenwood village/ lone tree area there isn't another restaurant that compares. I went here on a date and started with a charcuterie mini board. I was very surprised by the balance and uniqueness of the ingredients! You have to try the cajun specialties as well, the owner is from Louisiana so its authentic for sure. Gumbo, étouffée, shrimp and grits all amazing! We got cups of those, and then for our split entree we shared osso buco. My family is italian and this is the closest ive gotten to feeling like I'm in my Nona's kitchen again. Creamy polenta and yummy veggies. Cant go wrong. Wow! What a fantastic meal! The duck confit was the best I've ever had. The cioppino was stellar too - great sauce with nice heat & seafood all cooked perfectly. Also had a Tiger Prawn special & the Well-Balanced charcuterie board - both quite tasty too. Tried the Fig & Pineapple sorbets for dessert- yum.
