Love the food and drinks at Halo! Service is always great and the views are wonderful!

Halo Rooftop has been on my list for a while, and I finally was able to try it on a Friday night. They do take reservations, which is great for a bar as they do get pretty busy. It's inside the hotel on the top floor. Plenty of street parking nearby. The menu is standard, and the ambiance is nice. They had a DJ on a Friday night, which was a cool touch. The service is pretty attentive and helpful, despite them being super busy. Overall, I won't go out of my way to go there again but will worth another shot if I am in the area. read more

This place was so cool. The staff were super friendly. We had a reservation on Valentines & got there earlier in the night & it seemed like the perfect time for excellent service. After a quick dinner at a nearby restaurant, we came here for a few drinks and of course, the much talked about view. Despite the current ratings of less than 4 stars, I somehow was determined that this place would not disappoint. And my hunch was right; it didn't. We did make a reservation ahead of time. Upon arriving, we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside to which we said inside (for a mid-October evening, the temperature outside was decent and yet we weren't sure about sitting outside the whole time. We made the right call. Occasionally the cool breeze came in from the side door at the bar (as it was left open; they said once closed it locks so it would inconvenience the people out in the open deck area to leisurely come in) and it felt a bit cold to our liking.) Inside was lively. The beautiful modern-looking lounge was filled with all kinds of chitchat by other guests. Our conversation was sometimes canceled by it where we had to talk into our ears but we certainly didn't mind it. Yes, the ambiance is what you come here for. He got the Juicy Bits IPA and I got the French red blend (Grenache and Cote du Rhone). We browsed the food section in the menu. Some looked interesting but we ended up not ordering anything as even though we ate lightly at the first restaurant we were still quite full from it. Our waiter (young male, I believe his name was Payton) was busting his bottom. When he was at our table taking our order he said he was pretty much the only one who was assisting with the guests in the main indoor area. He occasionally got help from his colleague. It appeared to be an understaffed night. We completely understood. Payton, you were pleasant to us; thank you. We truly enjoyed our drinks. FYI - Juicy Bits IPA is not on tap so even though they poured it into a glass the server couldn't pour everything into it so he brought the can as well (btw, it's a 16oz can.) As much as I enjoyed my bold red wine his IPA stole the spotlight at our table. He is a beer guy and he couldn't help but taking a photo of the can for future purposes/purchase. Juicy Bits is a local craft beer made in Greeley. Quite refreshing beer indeed. Well, we sat in our comfy couch for an extended period of time from 6:30 to 9pm. We both stepped outside to the open deck area for a quick view earlier in our dining experience. And we must say that this is one of the best rooftop restaurants we've been to in the Denver area. Insane views! This place is everything DTC needed. Light bites and burgers make the perfect combo with one of their signature cocktails. I even loved their zero proof cocktails. Service was attentive and presence was great. First come first serve on the patio but easy to get a table on a Monday night. Reservations for big parties recommend calling after 4pm when they open. It was good views for a rooftop bar. Because it's a small rooftop, there was very limited seating. There was both a retirement party and a pre-wedding reception so 70% of the space felt blocked off. The only available seating was outside with very few chairs. Sarah was our bartender who was so amazing. She really checked in with us and took care of us. We had a nice time. We shared the fries which were not bad with the mozzarella cheese on top. I wish there was more flavor to the plate, but it was nice to munch. Highly recommend you to make reservations otherwise be prepared to stand for long periods. read more

We attended their New Year's Even event and it was amazing: probably the best NYE I've ever had. I tried their burger and it was great (I skipped the cheese this time and thought was still awesome). We had a ton of their drinks and they were all very interesting, but the best one was the alcoholic hot chocolate. Inside they had live music/DJ and the environment was great. Outside was even better between all the seating, the fire pits, the champagne toast, and the private drone show. The staff and everyone we met were friendly and answered all of our questions. They even had a few photographers going around that took a bunch of our photos (though I only saw photos from one of them). I highly recommend their NYE event. The only thing that was strange was they had this outdoor room (like a mini greenhouse, but for eating in) that was inaccessible and I heard someone say they were showing it off to rent for private events, but they should have just opened it up to everyone or had people take photos in there or something to advertise it better. The hotel has valet parking, but we parked in the garage immediately across the street for a like $6. read more

We booked a table to sit outside but it was insanely windy so unfortunately we couldn't. The ambiance inside was ok... I think I'd only go back if we could sit outside. $18 for a margarita that tasted poorly was outrageous. I've had $18 drinks that tasted ten times better. My friends espresso martini was much better but still not worth $18 in my opinion. read more

Such a fun, bustling, vibrant bar with great outdoor seating areas and beautiful views. We were there for happy hour and their menu has lots of variety. Our server, Madison, made some suggestions and was helpful. There were a couple of issues with our food - like not getting our salad until after our other food and not getting the aioli for the French fries. But that didn't stop us from enjoying the food, great drinks, and ambiance. The chicken skewers were a little too salty but the pickled green papaya that came with it was delicious. Came for the drinks and stayed for the view! Gorgeous mountain backdrop and a great rooftop ambiance. Drinks were solid, but the crowd and service had a bit of a snooty vibe--which tracks for a Kimpton. Worth a visit for the views alone, but get there early if you want a good spot. read more

Although the views are spectacular and this seems to be the trendy bar for the area I am always a bit disappointed. Y'all could do a lot more with the music! Also, drinks are a bit pricey and hard to get service, as everyone is clamoring around the front bar. Meanwhile, MOST of the time I've been there, the reserved tables and seats are empty. I used to love this place as I've been a regular since day one. I have happily brought a lot of business to Halo in the past. Corporate parties, clients, friends etc.. That being said, I would like to chat with the owner about the way I was treated by your food and beverage director Iona. She is highly unprofessional, and rude and said things to me in private near the elevators that I am not ok with. From the low food quality to not being efficient and courteous to guests, she was not a good pick as a F&B director. I think the 3.7 stars reflects what she's doing. I'm not going back until they replace her with somebody who cares about their staff and their guests. read more

Halo does NOT offer happy hour. Don't let the earlier reviews and pictures of happy hour menus fool you! Our waiter informed us they stopped offering a happy hour menu 7 months ago! We were hoping to get a deal, but at $16 a drink at 5pm on a Wednesday, no thanks! My burger and fries were average. My friend enjoyed her shrimp cocktail. But this place is very overpriced in my opinion. I guess you're just paying for the views. read more

AMAZING views. Newly opened but I'm sure it'll be no time before this place blows up in popularity. Unobstructed views of the mountains and also cherry creek reservoir. This new rooftop lounge is the tallest in Denver... Halo Rooftop Bar is the new hotspot in town and it's safe to say, we will be regulars here. This vibrant open-air lounge offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, craft cocktails, & gourmet bites. We arrived and were seated in the lounge area by the bar - the space was absolutely gorgeous. Halo staff were exceptional - polished & attentive. Manager & Master Mixologist, Evran had the best recommendations and whipped us up some gorgeous cocktails. Evran & Lauren ensured we had everything we needed while we dined. We started with cocktails. The Tequila Mockingbird was made with espolon blanco tequila, marigold, hibiscus, lime, & soda (to spice it up, it was made with ghost pepper tequila). The ghost pepper brought heat and complexity to this cocktail, and I loved it. The marigold & hibiscus added subtle floral sweetness (also the gorgeous pink color) while the lime & soda added brightness. The Sourpucker Spritz was made with midori, yuzu, umeboshi, pomegranate, prosecco, & soda water. The Sourpucker Spritz was refreshing with a nice balance of tart & sweet. The Jackfruit No-Hito was a zero-proof option made with seedlip, spiced umeboshi, jackfruit, mint, & soda. This non-alcoholic cocktail had a botanical base with notes of spice and citrus. The Brisket Griddle Burger was made with a double patty, lettuce, sweet onion, avocado, & cheese. It was served alongside sage fries and aioli. The double patties were blanketed in melty cheese & the meat had a rich, beefy flavor with a hint of smokiness. The Dungeness Crab Fried Rice was made with cucumber, avocado, mizuna, & cured yolk. The crab fried rice was savory & umami-rich in taste. The Little Gems Wedge Salad was made with double smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes, radish, pickled onion, & wasabi blue cheese dressing. The lettuce was cool and covered in creamy, tangy wasabi blue cheese dressing. The cherry tomatoes added a bright, juicy texture while the bacon brought the crisp bites. read more

The Halo Rooftop Bar is an awesome place for Happy Hour. The spacious bright interior is only half the picture. It has a wonderful outdoor deck which has views of the mountains and south Denver. Drinks are fun and reasonably priced. I came with a group of 3 lovely ladies. We shared the sliders, fries, salad and chicken skewers. Definitely a place to go back to. read more

Came in really excited to check out this beautiful cocktail bar our friends have been raving about and even braved the cold because it was the only night my husband and I could get out of the house. When we got upstairs we were incredibly disappointed to see that they had decided to put on a massive tv for a college football game in what was otherwise a gorgeous cocktail bar. Luckily our bartender Lowell was able to salvage the evening for us and kept our spirits up. The service on the rooftop bar was very poor. The manager was condescending and pretentious. She seemed like she was taking out her miserable life on us. Halo rooftop bar is such a great addition to the neighborhood! I've lived around here for over 10 years and have felt like a fun cocktail bar had been desperately missing and therefore was extremely excited for the arrival of halo, which just opened about 2 weeks ago and it's open past 9pm (which is rare for this area). I went for dinner and drinks last week and immediately was pleasantly surprised by the staff who were extremely accommodating to our request to sit outside. I highly recommend the balcony as it has a lovely atmosphere that feels super modern and presents a wonderful view of South Denver. Our waitress was very engaging and helped us complete our order with recommendations. The menu is designed as a tapas/sharable item environment with specific Asian flare to the cocktails and bar foods. The drinks were solid however not the best that I've had considering the geisha martini had a bit of a strange aftertaste (and I wouldn't order it again). The wedge salad was delicious and the perfect shareable size. We also split the burger, pork belly, wings and crab rice. While the crab rice was solid, it was nothing to rave about and the wings had a yummy sauce and neat presentation, but felt a bit too fried. The only dish we really didn't enjoy was the pork belly as it was extremely chewy and not tender while also being a bit too salty. I think we just got a bad piece of meat because our waitress said it was quite a rarity for people to complain about it. The price point is a bit high for Denver, but is worth the view in my opinion. Because Halo is so new, I'm sure over time the establishment can iron out a few of the wrinkles in the food while specializing in certain dishes / adding more to the menu (they didn't have desserts either). I am overjoyed about the arrival of halo and I'm sure to be back soon but maybe just for drinks and a snack for the meantime. read more

My wife and I had a nice date night/happy hour at halo and was pleased with the overall experience. The outside area was a little hot in the sun, but we found seating inside with the ac. The happy hour menu was nice with plenty of options and very reasonably priced for an upscale hotel, rooftop lounge/bar. The food was so-so, but they had just opened, and were willing to go back and try more options. Also, they ran out of Salv Blac (my wife's favorite) and the IPA early on a Friday evening, but again, I'm sure they'll work out those kinks.
