I've been her before for help with my pc, and the first time the guys were super nice and chill. But this time they had the nastiest attitude I have never heard before. I went in and tried to explain my issues with my computer, and the guy just said "ok". And didn't have any customer service at all. He seemed like he didn't even want to have a conversation and had no care in the world for any issues you had. They said they would charge me 150-225 depending on what's wrong. I was okay with that. Then when I was getting my computer back, they said it was it was just a bios update and that he's just gonna "charge me 225 just to update the bios". So why am I being charged for something so simple? Again, I've been here before and never had any issues, I don't know what was wrong with them this time. read more

I've used Nology Computers a couple of times now, mostly to clean and remove viruses, etc. But THIS TIME, I was in a panic, and I called them and they were calm, said to bring my laptop in and they would look at it. I won't tell you what happened but it rattled my nerves a bit. The folks at Nology remained calm and said these things happen and that I should not click on any pop up messages, no matter what they say. Anyway, they cleaned it up. I really thought my laptop was fried, but it wasn't, thanks to the good people at Nology. I'm sure my issue was probably small compared to others. As a senior here in Paso, I needed a computer guru to transfer everything on my old desktop computer to a new one. Dylan and Travis of Nology Computers responded quickly and spent a long time on the phone with me to advise what kind of computer to purchase, and what to do next. I first heard about Nology on KPRL, a local radio station which I listen to from 0630 to 0900 every morning. Kevin Will, the station owner had a great ad spot for them. Fast forward. My 3 year old Dell Inspiron 5575 laptop started having issues in the past 3 weeks. I backed up all of my info on an external HD just in case. I talked to many of my friends about the issue I was having and they asked me if I had heard of Nology Computers. I said yes, thru KPRL. They said; take it to them. I suppose I could have taken it to a big box store and the "geeks", but, as I like to spend my $$ on local businesses, because of KPRL's raves about Nology, and the advice from my friends, I took the issue to them. Long story short. Nology took care of the issue with my laptop, traded out the failing HD, replaced it with an SSD, replaced the bad power button, and Dylan [upon my request], got rid of all the superfluous and not needed "protection" ad-ons that I as a not tech minded person had downloaded over the years. One of my hard drives got corrupted and I wasn't able to access any of the data from it. I dropped it off at Nology in hopes that they'd be able to recover the files from it. A few days later I got a call letting me know that they weren't able to recover the lost data and referred me to a few companies that specialize in that service and would be able to help me further. They didn't charge me anything for their service and were very kind. They even gave me a discount code for the other companies they referred me to. Friendly and honest service! read more

Travis is awesome. Even though I work from my computer all day, I am the first to admit, I am not computer literate. Travis set up our shared network, cleaned up the mess I've created over time, added a back up program and did a check of all the shared systems, printers, etc. I needed to call him back in for a printing issue that was more than likely an operator error and he made an appointment right away, showed up on time, fixed all the issues and did it without making me feel like I was inept. He speaks to us in terms we can understand and doesn't add fluff, try to up-charge or sell things we don't really need. Because of this - when the time comes, he'll be the first one we call for new products and equipment. In March I needed to buy a new laptop to replace the Dell Windows XP used laptop I had purchased from Nology a couple of years ago. I had been happy with it, but since Microsoft would no longer support XP, I wanted to find a used Windows 7. I went back to Nology because I have always found them professional and helpful. Sure enough, they had a used Dell Latitude E6400 with Windows 7 at a price I could afford. I needed it right away because I was about to have foot surgery and I had to have a laptop so I could work from a recliner with my foot up. I bought the laptop and installed all my programs before I had the surgery on April 14. A couple of days ago the computer started to slow down and pages started being unresponsive. Yesterday morning a message flashed on my screen that the hard drive was failing. I still can't drive, so I had to wait for my husband to get home in the late afternoon to take the computer over to Nology. We got there around 4:30. I had given up any hope of having the computer back before Monday. I can't earn a cent without a computer to use, and I normally work most of the weekend. . Travis and company at Nology knew the bind I was in, and I had my computer, which was still under warranty, back before the store closed at 6 last night, and there was no charge. All my data had been restored, and when I got the computer back home it was as though nothing had happened. I could start working right where I left off. This is at least the third time they have helped me out. They have always been professional and competent, and I know when I have a problem with a PC, I can rely on them. Took a chance on Nology (based on the previous Yelp reviews) when my laptop stopped charging. From the first communication through completion of the work, everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. It ended up that my original problem wasn't fixable, so I purchased another laptop and had the Nology team retrieve and transfer my programs, files, and data. Dillon, the tech who did the work, went above and beyond figuring out a few initial obstacles and eventually got everything where it needed to be and running smoothly. I could not be happier! We tried them out after having pretty luke-warm service at our old shop. It's because of pleasant past experiences that we keep coming back. They've built three computers for us now; for both home and business uses. All have been outstanding. Pricing is affordable and they make it very clear what you're getting and how long things are going to take (I've had vague quotes and surprise bills from others) Some have had good luck with the other outfit in Paso but their communication is lacking and turn-around times are slow in my experience. It's tough to find a reliable shop that's open consistently. Nology is as professional as it gets and has always been extremely responsive. You never want to have to bring a computer in for repair but this place helps take the sting out of the experience. read more

Had my normal panic attack over the weekend when my router/modem god knows what wouldn't let me in to the internet. Hustled over to Nology and gave the router to Travis who tested it no charge. It worked, so then he gave me some free advice which I followed and as you can see I'm back up again. Last year my little Toshiba netbook was giving me connection problems and they fixed that right away. Their prices are reasonable and they are certainly really nice and knowledgeable. They have a good business so you have to make an appointment to get stuff fixed, but they have a program for a small fee that lets you bring your gear in as soon as they have a time slot because of a cancellation or change in workload. I'd trust them with any computer/network problem you have. Plus they have refurbished computers at really reasonable prices. read more

Nology computer repair was a life saver. Should have taken my computer to them in the first place. After another technician removed my e-mail client and left the program corrupt I was worried I had lost everything. Nology not only was able to fix the email client on my computer but they were able to restore all emails and folders within the client. Gosh, it was such a relief. Nology Computers had my HP Desktop for 4 days running diagnostics, trying to identify the source of a problem. I received a call on the 4th day stating that they had no luck recreating the issue I'd described, in spite of many shut-downs, reboots, etc. However, as requested, they did replace my old virus protection with an updated, free version and gave me several tips on how to keep my computer running problem-free. Just got my ASUS laptop back from Nology Computers because I it had a messed up battery charging port. Original estimate was maybe an hour and a half or so labor and a new adapter cord. They were able to clean up the charging port and get my old adapter to work--saving me at least $50. These guys are awesome. They could have told me I needed a new adapter--I wouldn't have know the difference--but they didn't. I had a malicious cyber attack on my computer, everything was encrypted and I was sure I had lost it all. 3 years of employee files and bookkeeping gone.
