Half of my internet speed is gone at 5pm consistently and when you leave for a vacay and come back, forget it. It's reduced to a fifth of what we are paying for and you spend hours on the phone with them to only have a few weeks of medium results. No it's not the router. It's your wifi service co reselling your WiFi. Upgraded my service months ago to have slower service than previous plan. After hearing the support staff today when tech support thought they put me on hold: I highly recommend that other users review their rights and the basic laws of ca consumer protection. California offers several protections for internet consumers through laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the state's net neutrality law. The CCPA grants California residents the right to know what personal information companies collect, how it's used, and with whom it's shared. Consumers also have the right to request deletion of their data and to opt out of data sales. This law aims to protect your privacy and allow control over how your information is handled by businesses, including internet service providers (ISPs). Additionally, California's net neutrality law, established in 2018, prohibits ISPs from blocking or throttling lawful internet traffic, as well as from engaging in paid prioritization, which could lead to differential treatment based on payment agreements. This means that ISPs in California are not permitted to intentionally slow down internet speeds for certain users or content types, which offers further protection against discriminatory practices based on your browsing activity or preferences. How could they improve? Have an expedited counter for drop off equipment. If you had a designated counter person for this, it would take 5 minutes per person or less. On top of this there's a woman standing at the counter doing absolutely nothing and then takes a personnel call and keep telling people to check in on the front tablet and wait. She keeps telling everyone 30-40 minutes to wait when there is only two people on the wait screen. No concept of how long it really takes. I think I will look into dropping Spectrum all together. Just a very inefficient company that creates frustration at every turn. They just sent us new receiver boxes and tells us we have two weeks before the old boxes are disconnected. We will lose all shows on our DVR because Spectrum is forcing this change. No options for the customer to keep it. Ridiculous. If you are considering Spectrum for the first time, do your homework and find a provider that has better commitment to the customer, because this company doesn't. Cheers!

I even have one of their relay towers within 500 feet of my home, and in the beginning the service was decent. Over time, however, the connection slowed significantly. When I called customer service, they upgraded me at no extra cost, but only after I asked. I found it frustrating that they don't automatically extend available upgrades to loyal customers. Their policy seemed to be that you have to complain or ask before they offer improvements--even if your service is struggling. That didn't make sense to me from a customer service standpoint. In the past year, the issues have gotten worse. Video meetings often cut out or force me to turn off my camera because of poor connection speed. I've spent countless hours troubleshooting and calling customer support, but nothing has resolved the problem. I finally tested a new internet option and was shocked at the difference: four times the speed at half the cost. When I called to cancel Unwired, they didn't even try to keep me as a customer--they simply admitted their product wasn't the best available and let me go. My advice: Before signing up with Unwired, research other options. It doesn't take long to find better internet service at a much better price.

It's been almost 12 years and I finally have internet worth paying for. I felt hopeless with no other options until I heard of the WiFi services. After contacting all the WiFi services I had heard of I was still feeling hopeless. The only way to get service to my home would cost a ton of money up front. I mean $1000 plus just to get signal. I was referred by a friend to Surfnet. A company I had never called because I didn't know they existed. Sure enough they could get clear line of sight to their towers and now I have an amazing internet service and it was $179 for the install and equipment I needed. And $79 a month for service. I can stream and all that with no worries. Thank you Surfnet. Installation looks clean and neat and the guys were polite and friendly. No more big satellite dish that cost way to much and really just sucked. My kids can game. We can stream movies. And we don't have to monitor every thing we do because we have unlimited data.

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and the second worst (after Hughes net) internet service provider for areas outside of cable service (spectrum). If you want reliable fast internet service for rural and semi-rural areas, try starlink or ranch wifi instead. Surfnet is horrible! And dishonest! After years of poor service and frequent service interruptions, I made the switch to starlink as soon as it was available. I've been trying to get an accurate final bill from Surfnet for over three months, with no luck. They just keep trying to bill me for $529 literally every two days (at 12:01 am) when all I owe is $140. I am not getting a correct final bill or even a call back or email despite dozens of attempts. It's beyond the pale. Run, don't walk away from them. It's only a matter of time before they fold and go bankrupt.

How many ways can I say how much I hate charter? From their disgusting price games, to their…read moredishonest promotions, they take advantage of customers who have no other options. I was a customer for 25 years of uninterrupted service when my Autopay got disconnected by accident. By the time I figured it out, they had disconnected us. I called to restart, but because I hadn't been away from their service for 31 days, they refuse to give me the rate anyone else pays when they restart services. Instead of $89.99, which is already a rip off for 100mbps service, they said it would be $129.99 per month and I would not be eligible for any promotions unless I wait 31 days. Then I would be considered a "new customer". So let me get this right. A customer who paid on time for 25 years is forced to pay the highest rate possible, while only new customers get a deal. This is what happens when monopoly corporations take over a market. Since there are no other options in SLO, we are stuck with the worst service and business practices ever. This is not how normal businesses do business, but because they have bought their way into a market, with no competition, they can be as dishonest as they want to be. Just wait. The day is coming where there will be internet service at a good price everywhere. When that happens, we will remember the charter name and never again buy from them. Ever.

That is a form of discrimination!
