All I have to say is that they offer class act service. I had an older computer that I had hoped they could revive. Instead of giving me the run-around, and keeping my computer longer than they needed, the took a look at it and came to a quick conclusion..KAPUT. I thought for sure they'd charge me for the estimate, but they didn't. The staff explained to me their conclusion to my predicament, and my options for recovering the data from my hard drive. The staff were also nice enough to refer me to a service with a discount code. And on top of everything they removed my hard drive and didn't charge me for their efforts. Although my Lenovo laptop is only about 3 years old, it was not starting up at all. I recently bought a new Dell that was having some overheating issues. I found Paso Robles tech website, and called them up. They were very friendly, professional, and very willing to help. I think it was the owner I met with (not sure). She was able to help me right away, clean out any dust, and offer advice on what to do next. Prices reasonable, and great customer service. I was having significant problems with my laptop, where it basically served as a paper weight, not functioning at all. I looked up computer repairs on, you guessed it, Yelp. Read the reviews and decided to bring it to PR Tech. The staff was super friendly and didnt get all nerdy with me when I brought my computer in. They quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to fix it within a day. They were able to extract important files off the laptop prior to wiping it and re-installing my software, I was super relieved that they got my files off as I thought family photos were gone. I have been going to Traci McMahan at Paso Robles Tech for several years. Mostly recently, my hard drive crashed and I was in need of accessing some time-critical documents. As it was Saturday, I incorrectly believed Paso Robles Tech so I went to a big office store. They said it would be several days before they could even look at it to diagnose the issue and then they may have to wait for parts. I was surprised to find Paso Robles Tech open on Saturday. They gave me the option of putting my repair as a priority. They quickly installed a new hard drive which they had in stock, updated my programs, and returned it to its original format. I brought my computer back in for the same bluescreen issue. They said I needed a hard drive and I agreed to pay for a hard drive and a mirror image of my system to make things as painless as possible. I also asked to upgrade my RAM while they were in three. What I got back was a stripped version of my computer. Photos and documents were there, but all of my programs were gone. They hadn't done the mirror image I had paid for, so they refunded it and took my computer back to try and restore it from my backup mirror image on my external hard drive. If I wasn't data paranoid with backups, I would have lost so much! Now, had they fixed and and this been the end of it, I'd be leaving a much better review, but this snowballed into a PC nightmare. I got it back and the data on my external hard drive had been able to restore almost everything back. But then I got the bluescreen of death again and again. Plus, I started getting relentless popups that said my version of Windows was not valid and kept prompting me to buy it. So the bluescreen issue was obviously not a bad hard drive because this new hard drive I bought through them is doing the same thing. And my best guess is the popup has something to do with the fact that there was a DVD-R in the disc drive that said "Windows" on it in Sharpie. Back to the shop it had to go. The last review I wrote was about bad communication. The owner asked me to give them a 2nd chance with the hopes that I'd change my review, but while I was outraged last time, this time I was so pissed off I was in tears more than once. My computer was in the shop on and off for months! I'm sure they spent a lot of time trying to fix their multiple mistakes, but at some point I had to just get my computer back. They said to not put it in sleep mode to prevent the blue screens and that to fix the popup will require wiping everything and doing a fresh install (hopefully with a legitimate Windows disc instead of a home made copy). They also installed a lot of programs that run in the background and I have no idea what is safe to delete, so they run in the background and eat up my RAM. I feel like my computer has been disabled for life by them and my only hope is going to be a full reinstall of everything or to buy a new computer. I really hate giving someone 1 star, but I truly feel like they jumped to the conclusion that the hard drive was bad without a proper evaluation and as a result my computer is much worse than it was before. read more

My laptop needed a new hard drive and throughout the majority of the process they were very helpful and accommodating. However it took them exceptionally long (1.5 weeks) to do a job that can be done in 2 days, max. In addition, I never received a call from them letting me know my laptop was ready to be picked up. I had to call them only for them to tell me that it had been fixed 2 days ago. Lastly, when I started up my laptop, a lot of the original functions that I had did not work because they did not install certain drivers that my laptop requires. This is incredibly unprofessional of them because the majority of people are not tech savvy and would not know computers need drivers for certain functions to work; which leaves people in a crutch. The technicians went the extra step to download antivirus softwares without asking me but won't install softwares that come with my laptop??? Bottom line, they get the job done in an extremely time consuming manner even though they cut many corners. read more

Having had complete satisfaction with Traci fixing a computer for us, we called for service on another computer. The technician worked most of the day, and since it was getting late, he was told that it would be alright for him to take it to the shop to finish the job. We have called repeatedly and have been told that it was "almost ready and would be returned" that day or the next day. THIS HAS GONE ON FOR TEN DAYS! I just got off the phone and after voicing my displeasure, was told that it should be ready "in about an hour". So I asked if it would be brought out today, and I was told that since it is now Saturday, it was doubtful... So I asked if we could come and get it or if it could be brought out next Monday. THAT WILL BE THIRTEEN DAYS. He said he didn't know, but if they did, it would be an extra charge. (This means that we were lied to about this too!) At this point: 1. We know that we cannot believe what we are told. 2. We have no idea of when we will get the computer back. 3. We have serious doubts if it will be properly fixed. 4. Since this is our main computer, the delays have been not only inconvenient, but have also hurt our business. I really believe that the owner has no idea of the shoddy things that are going on in the business, so as a owner/manager, I realize this can happen. BUT it is also our responsibility to properly manage our business and see that our customers are treated right. In this case, I am sorry to say, that is not the case. PS My Wife has made all of the calls to find out about the computer, but this morning, I complained about the problem and she said, "Maybe YOU should call them. I did, and not being as nice as my wife is, I MADE IT VERY CLEAR HOW DISAPPOINTING THEIR SERVICE WAS. SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!! IN LESS THAN AN HOUR, (Just now.) I GOT A CALL THAT THE COMPUTER WAS FIXED, AND THAT THEY WOULD WAVE THE DELIVERY CHARGE ON NEXT MONDAY. We will go pick it up at their shop, because we can't be sure that it is fixed and that it would actually be delivered on Monday since we have been misled so many times in the last ten days. Why was the computer fixed in less than an hour after ten days of waiting? Do you suppose that my phone call had anything to do with it? Of course the question now is: IS THE COMPUTER ACTUALLY REPAIRED or was the "Monday" thing just one more excuse to delay the job? ??? UPDATE: We retrieved the computer, and when we tried it out, we found that it had been totally gutted! Over 7,500 documents, pictures, and business records are completely gone! These were all still there when it was taken to their shop and there is literally NOTHING left in it! This is not just a catastrophe, it is a real heart-breaker! . read more
