I've had nomad internet as my ISP for years. The Internet service itself is great. The customer service was pretty good for awhile. I will make a complaint that they kept changing how to contact them. Like email,text and the chat bot was supper helpful but then one time they went straight Phone calls. Luckily they switched back to the others after awhile thankfully. But this year truly has me upset. I have been trying to pay my bill since April. I haven't been able to use the costumer portal for awhile now so I wasn't even able to login to my account to do anything. The links I had been given would say it doesn't exist anymore. So I tried their site, couldn't find anything but pay your bill. I was like here we go. It wasn't. I kept getting errors when I would click on pay my bill and enter my email. Would just get a error msg flash for a second then I'm back at the home page. So I started waiting for the bill email cause they always sent one since I've been with them. I never got one, BUT I did get a email that my account was over due and then they turned my Internet off because it said it was 4 days overdue. I was like WHAT? It had a link in it that didn't work just took me to some godaddy thing. But the pay my bill on their site was working "this" time. So I paid my bill but I had the wonderful late fee of $50 cause I wasn't able to access my account or pay my bill. I sent them a text and a email hoping to get this fixed. It took several hours for my Internet to get turned back on but there was no response to my inquiries. I sent the inquiries last month. I got a response this month....yes this month. They said oh it was charging a expired card u needed to update it. I told them everything about none of their links to the portal working and that I wasn't able to get to my account to look at it much less update "anything". And that their pay my bill on their site wasn't working untill after I got the over due email. Which is sketchy. I asked if it would be possible to get the late fee refunded cause I had been trying to pay my bill since April and wasn't able to because their stuff wasn't working. I've had a back and forth with this person Sam Fash and I got told basically they would have to see about the refund. No mad internet is absolutely terrible I first got it when I was in North Carolina helping clean up after the floods and they didn't tell me it was on T-Mobile which doesn't work out there at all it doesn't work in the mountains. Tried calling Customer Service and got "our phone system is being upgraded and won't be available for a month." So then I tried creating "Tickets" for Tech Support. NOTHING. FOR DAYS. DAYS. To top it all off, they increased my plan cost by $40 a month with no warning at all. I finally got a call yesterday (it's been weeks since I tried to get internet) from someone who barely spoke English and then when I kept asking him to repeat what he was saying, hung up on me. Scammers and fraudulent business that engages in unfair billing practices. Consistently has connection issues. Low quality equipment rented out to customers at unreasonably prices, as well as plans. They operate as unauthorized resellers: they work until they don't. The reason is they buy plans from the carriers under false pretenses and resell them against terms of service. read more

Before falling for their latest "$100 for our fastest modem ever" scam (which conveniently came out right after I paid $350 for their originally $300 previous fastest moment, consider this. I am typing this entire review using my phone's service while standing 5 feet from my Nomad modem 12 minutes from a major city center because if I was connected to it, it would not work at all. I live in the mountains just outside of a major city where there are no major internet providers, so I was forced to resort to one of these sort of companies. From the moment I paid them the procedure has been plagued with enough problems I initially thought it was a full blown scam. I paid $20 for expidited 2 day shipping to get my $300 Nomad modem, I got excuses as to why it hadn't arrived for a month, then they canceled my order without refund and increased the modem price to $350. If I had any other options I would've stopped there, but they said they would offer free bonus services for the first month and take the extra $50 out of my first month payment. They did not take that $50 out and despite repeated calls to and voicemails for their tech support and billing department unanswered for months they started charging me for those "free first month services" half of which I would never even use for months. Then when the new big deal modem launched and every department other than sales (because they want money) was replaced with an automated response that reffered to an "AI Customer Service Chat Line" that is completely pointless and does not work at all, my service stopped working completely. I eventually learned I just have to call sales during their now slashed in half business hours and request a call back after waiting while being "the next caller in line" for an hour to actually get ahold of anyone. I've been told twice now the disconnect was their mistake and they would use that $50 I have them saying in writing they would use to discount my first month which they did not and all my many months of overcharges to provide a free month of service, but because sales relies on a mysterious tech support team who is almost never available for this, it took another hour on hold after finally getting the callback. This is the second time I've been told "if I just reset my modem, it should work fine" now and it's even worse than the first. At least, despite not working, the first time the light turned green, now I don't even gee that. This company, it's products and customer service are an absolute joke and if this isn't fixed soon I have half a mind to sue for every second of mine time which it has utterly wasted for my money on their obscenely overpriced nonsense. read more

If you are looking into Nomad, you may want to go with something else. I am looking into Starlink myself as we live off-grid and are very limited to what service we can have. With Nomad, my speeds were around 10-20 bps. I then got that taken care of, and my speed was about 85-112 Mbps. All while this is going on, my service gets disabled at least twice a month. That's been my experience paying for 100 Mbps per month. You can never get a hold of anyone, just the chatbot, and apparently, they even need the chatbot's help today for maintenance, so now you can't even talk to the chatbot. read more

I have been with nomad for 4 months. My experience with customer service has been very frustrating to say the least. The internet did not perform well in nomad and rural areas that my family and I traveled to. In the city from time to time it would work fine. The plan that I signed up with for $99 began to be too and they sent out promotions for $33 but would not sign me up for the new rates. They even lied and said they weren't available yet but kept sending me emails about them being available. Each time I try and call them for support the phone calls either hang up, get sent to voicemail or I'm on an extended hold then they hang up. If I could give this crap 0 stars, I would. My internet goes out for HOURS, sometimes DAYS at least twice a month. I used to be able to actually call or get in contact with someone via their phone system or chat system for technical support or customer service. Now, everything is routed to AI, and I cannot even speak to a real person. I called twice in the span of 12 hours to try and find some resolution - NOW THEY BLOCK YOUR NUMBER FROM CALLING THEIR SUPPORT LINE. 100% rip off. Nomad air Constant problems with internet connection. Definitely doesn't work as advertised! Paid 499.90 for the modem. Canceled membership. They wanted me to return modem. Several times of calling them speaking with customer service and being hung up on numerous times. Finally getting through. I explained I paid for the modem. Then they sent me a new email verifying my cancellation. Without returning the modem. Get a new credit card. 3 months later automatically getting changed. 250.00 Call them back. They tell me the 499.90 is a 1 time membership fee. First time hearing about that. That I have to return the modem. This is ridiculous. Their customer service is a joke. Their services do not cover what is advertised. Their equipment is always going down. I strongly suggest against using their services. I have struggled with them the whole time using nomad. Being charged after canceling services. I went with starlink and haven't had problems ever since. I get the coverage where I'm need it. Especially because I build hotels condos and apartments. Where internet is not available typically. While under construction. Emails, reports, Skype meetings, and scheduling still have to done. Internet service is a must in my situation. BRUTAL! I honestly think they are either a scam or they are in serious financial trouble. I ordered my router in Feb. They didn't tell me they were on "backorder" until weeks after I ordered and inquired as to why it was taking so long. Then they tried to sell me on a lesser unit AND on an annual plan, etc. - even before I got any unit to use! Finally, when I really complained to them, they told me they could send a router. I'm in a motorhome and I had just left Florida where I was for months, waiting for the router to arrive. I was headed to TX so I gave them an address in Corpus Christi and when I got there it had been returned because they "messed up the address" so I never received it. Finally requested a refund - and I received an email (see attached photo) telling me when I return the unit (that I never received because they messed up the delivery address), I would get a refund. Nomad Internet is HORRID!!! First, their connections aren't even remotely as good as they claim. I travel a lot and typically stay in areas with strong cell signals. I constantly had problems getting connected and staying connected. I didn't even want to think about what would happen when I was in an area where cell signals were weak and that's supposed to be their target customer. I decided to give Starlink a try. Their service is dishonest and it's an absolute battle to cancel service. Earlier this year, I tried to cancel my service. I hadn't used the service in a month after switching to Starlink so the rep offered to put my account on hold for 3 months with no fees. I agreed to it so I could confirm Starlink was right for me (it was). One month goes by and I'm charged - MORE than my regular bill. I bring it to the attention of the rep I was in contact with. He apologizes and guarantees me it won't happen again and that the overcharge will be refunded in 5-7 days. 2 weeks later it still wasn't refunded so I had to reach out, again, and I requested my service be canceled. The rep immediately has the amount refunded and, again, guarantees that I won't be charged again. Not long after that, I was charged, AGAIN, and this time was even more than the previous time. I made a complaint and told them I was canceling. It's been 3 weeks, 2 since I returned the equipment, and they're still giving me the runaround about canceling and there's no way to cancel your payment method to ensure you don't continue to get charged. For many years I was a huge supporter and advocate for this company, they had their issues but I was always able to get resolve. We have experienced several technical difficulties over the last year with the service we have received from Nomad with 3 different modems in 3 different locations and have never received any of the credit we should have received for the referrals, regardless of that we would have still been willing to stay (we have been with Nomad since 2018/19) but due to the complete lack of customer care/support we have been forced to look into other options and now with excellent services provided by another company I have to wonder what made me so loyal for so long to a company who didn't care about my needs. I have been struggling with our last remaining Nomad modem to get it returned but I am being ran In circles by what I believe must be an AI customer support bot. They still continue to try to charge my cards almost daily. Writing this review has been a last straw for me, I have asked everyone I have been in contact with to please get this resolved so I can maintain my many public outstanding reviews but my requests continue to fall on deaf ears. Breaking up is hard to do but needless to say our love affair is over and I now find myself in the hands of Elon and StarLink and I honestly have never been happier. This company is a scam. The download speeds are very poor (under 2 mbps). Their customer service does not reply to support tickets and there is no way to contact them by phone. I never write negative reviews (as you can see) but I must do so now regarding Nomad Internet due to my personal nightmare of which have reached out to my credit card company for help in pursuing. Originally I purchased the Cube and Rural Internet Service Pause Plan on March 12, 2023 in preparation for working remotely out of state. It was supposed to ship within 2 days, then I was told 10-12 days. I finally received it on March 29, 2023, it worked for about 2 weeks in April and then the speeds went down so significantly I could barely/not use it. I reached out again to Nomad because I could not pause my plan via the phone APP (that is useless by the way). It took many days but customer service eventually got back to me and gave me a different number and link so I could pause the plan. However, it apparently never did because Nomad proceeded to charge my card $129 on 5/1/23 and $129 on 6/1/23. In the meantime during May I received promotions and decided to buy their annual plan instead for the savings and placed order on 5/31/23 and SIM card was supposed to be sent (it never arrived). I called and emailed several times regarding overcharges + no new SIM card + even attempted to use the already activated original Cube since they charged me anyway, but customer service never got it working and said my ticket would be expedited to urgent, someone would call the next day (never happened). Customer service agents kept putting me on hold and saying that I needed to talk to billing but it was a simple mistake that would be fixed. Every time I tried calling and pressing 'Option 1, 2, 3' it would send me in a circle or disconnect me. In my FINAL attempt to get the charges refunded, I got a human in the billing dept. who said "your ticket has been escalated to billing". WHAAAAAT??? At this point I laughed and said "I'm not mad at you personally, but that's what every agent has told me since June 1st and it's now July 3rd. It's great when you email support direct and they send a response email that they aren't monitoring emails and to "contact us at 855-466-6623" of which I did and the number changed again to 385-257-2806 (didn't work) then tried another number 385-257-2809 (correct #) I rrrrrrrreally WANTED this internet to work and save me when I'm on the road out in partially rural settings. I was patient and understanding with 'new rapid growth pains' in new products and businesses. I hoped upon hoped that this could have been my new internet at home as well. Sadly from the entire March-July experience it's a flop. If Nomad Internet is a legit company, I don't know HOW they will ever recover from all of the frustrated customers like myself. Alarming- don't waste your money or sanity. I am genuinely concerned this is some type of scam that will continue to impact my family long after cancellation. I only gave one star because I can't input zero. Service worked fine for approximately 2 months. Out of nowhere performance took a nose dive. After a minimum of 15 hours spread out over a few days attempting to reach a resolution the following was my experience. Majority of the time no one picks up or their automated messages send you in a loop to avoid taking calls. When you do reach someone their support reps would simply end calls or chat sessions when they did not know how to respond to my questions and/or resolve the issue. A company that cares about their customers and their product has a better customer service approach. This poor approach coupled with poor service is NEGLIGENT at best. I'm now concerned about stopping payments. If it's anything like the rest of the experience I fear they will continue poor business practices.
