When switching our service, I explicitly told the in-store representative that my previous carrier bill from Optimum Mobile would not show a phone payoff balance because our devices are financed directly through Apple. The representative explicitly told me, "Once you upload the information, they will still send you a Visa card. Technically it's supposed to be for your phone, but you can use it for whatever." Relying entirely on this promise, I moved my wife and myself to this network and uploaded my teacher ID and bills. Unsurprisingly, the switcher program repeatedly rejected the documents because the automated system does not honor Apple financing. When I tried to get this resolved, I was thrown into a horrific customer service loop. Customer service told me to call Rewards. Rewards told me to go back to the store. The store told me they couldn't do anything. I have spent more than EIGHT hours on the phone trying to fix a mistake made by their own employee. Worse yet is the store management. I called on June 8th and spoke to a manager named Juan, who promised to call me back and never did. I called again on June 9th, and Juan never called back a second time. I later spoke to another manager named Lorelie, who also promised a callback and never delivered. Because management actively dodged my calls and delayed this process, they are now claiming I am "outside of the 14-to-30-day grace period" to return the phones and cancel service without penalty. The time it took on waiting to hear back from the rewards for approval and trying to get everything resolved, I am almost out of the window to take advantage of the switcher program as well. I have spent over 8 hours on the phone trying to get this issue resolved.
