Our local area offers delivery from mostly two directions = Pizza/Italian and Chinese. Mostly it is mediocre, although by trying every place we narrowed down our favorite pizza and adequate Chinese. Until now... This tiny spot in a mini strip mall in Buchanan (next to poor Chinese and Dunkin) never made it on our radar. It took the gracious support of others sending food to us after a rough day and ER trip led to emergency surgery. We were sent Penne a la Vodka and Chicken Marsala. Grateful, and with no expectations, we dug in. Let me start by saying most Marsala based dishes suffer from lack of good Marsala wine and an overabundance of flour. This was simply terrific! Up there with fine Italian restaurant fare and my own home cooking! Fork tender chicken, bountiful mushrooms and a terrific sauce. A+++ The penne was cooked just a tad past al dente, but one again the sauce was terrific. Not watery or greasy, with fresh tomato and pork flavors, and perfect for some wiping up with the fresh bread accompanying this meal. We ordered the same again and served to friends the next night - we could not have been happier! Kudos to the chef - we look forward to trying more from the menu! read more

Ordered a pie for delivery, hour and 10 mins later called to check status, said it's been busy, driver left with it 5 mins ago (didn't even ask who I was) and would be there in a couple mins. 20 mins later pizza arrived (I'm 5 mins away), stone cold...was obviously sitting on top of stove for a good half hour and sent the guy out with it when I called. Convenient strip mall with a lot of parking. Decent amount of seating inside, small but cozy. The staff is friendly. The pizza is good definitely above average. The calzones are well seasoned and don't have too much cheese. They have very good sauce, which is where most of the flavor for pizza comes from. My personal favorite is the grandma's, they make a great grandma's. The kitchen food is probably good too. Not the best pizza in the world but it is a great option for the area. Unlike Peekskill that has a few good places, this area lacks a GREAT pizza place...Nonna's does nothing to correct that problem. I had a stromboli that was kind of bland. Cheese lacked taste and I had a suspicion that it had been on display for quite some time. Pizza was fresh but the sauce was nothing special and the cheese - like on the stromboli - was nothing special. The one really lame thing was that the place was really hot. It was raining really hard out and there was an open table so instead of getting soaked I sat down to eat. Within 2 minutes, getting soaked was a better option. If you have a small dining area, the anticipation is that it will be a comfortable dining experience. And as pizza places go, this place is pretty expensive so I don't think I'm asking for the moon when I ask for a little AC. read more

I came in to grab a few slices and with the new mask mandate they have a sign up telling people to mask up, okay no problem but some of the employees aren't wearing masks, some working with pizza with the mask hanging near their chin and talking over the food. I've only seen 2 employees wearing the mask correctly and it's the girls that answer the phones. If you expect your customers to mask up when they come into your establishment, you should be doing the same!! read more

Pizza was under cooked and not cut all the way through. When I pulled a piece, the whole top of cheese slipped off along with the toppings. There was DEFINITELY not enough sauce. I had to bake it for 15 minutes in the oven and, overall, tasteless. read more

Ok so first thing first. I love Nonnas. We order from there one or two times a week. My issue lately has been consistency. Some days you get an awesome meal...some days it's just ok. I always order the same thing. Chicken alla nonna with spinach. It's really hit or miss. The meal portion has dramatically decreased. Some days I get an awesome sauce. Some days...I get barely any. It's always different and not in a great way. Tonight my order came wrong and even the garlic bread I ordered was significantly smaller than usual. Sometimes the asparagus is edible, other times it's not. Tonight my meal was sub par and they gave me ziti...I don't eat pasta. Very small chicken portion and not even enough garlic bread to compensate. My son enjoyed his raviolis though. I think if nonnas can iron out the issues with consistency they have potential to be much much better. We are going to add Sunday to our list of nights not to order Nonna's. Sadly we're down to two specific nights of the week! read more

Like it's parent restaurant in the Beach Shopping Center, Nonnas in Buchanan is fantastic! Best pizza, Stromboli, chicken rolls and Parmigiana in town! My only complaint is that the Buchanan is very small. Although they have a few tables and window seats, it's really more geared more for take out, I think. Maybe the owners thought if people wanted to eat out they'd choose the beautiful newly expanded dining room in Beach Shopping Center. Anyway, fantastic Italian spot for dinner or lunch! read more
