Nonnas used to be the absolute best place to get Italian in the area, but over the past year the place has gone to hell, food isn't the same taste isn't the same and the service is terrible, instead of being notified of menu changes in advance, and after confirming what was included in my order I did not receive the spoken of item, then when called to notify them was told we don't do that anymore... with no offer of rectification. This place is a complete disaster and being ran by people who have no idea what they're doing, a complete shell of what it was I'd honestly say save you're time and money and go somewhere else at this point. When I eat pizza, I am always comparing it to pizza we used to eat I. The Bronx when I was a kid. Sorrento's pizza was insanely perfect. Thin crust, a little bendy, slight tang in the sauce, and stretchy perfect mozzarella. Nonna's pizza is as close to that ideal I have ever had in. My 60 years in this planet. Three incredibly disappointing meals in a row, and rude employees/ owners! My family and I have been visiting this location for literally decades, and with the recent change of hands, Nonna's is NOT the same. First meal, rigatoni, broccoli, grilled chicken with garlic and oil... Two pieces of broccoli total. Second meal, grilled buffalo chicken wrap with avocado and fries. The restaurant called to tell me that they were out of avocado (nbd), and I asked if there had been an extra charge for it, they said no. I double checked online, and there is indeed an extra $1.50 charge for avocado, I was willing to let it go, and fries were ice cold. Third and definitely final meal, cobb salad. No dressing and avocado was ROCK HARD, inedible. I called and asked for a refund, as the salad was $16.00. I was first told that I would need to bring the salad back to get a refund, which is honestly just bad customer service, this is my third time ordering from you in one weekend, I feel like you can trust me as a customer not to lie...? I was then told that they "don't grow the avocado themselves, you get what you get..." What?? I'm pretty sure you are the one making the decision to USE the rock hard avocado? I begrudgingly went back, I explained my concerns again, and was met with nothing but attitude, and eventually told, "quite frankly, we don't care about your opinion or business" WELL, CLEARLY. For self preservation purposes, I need it known, that I am not a "food complainer", I eat what I have and am usually very content. But three times in a row AND that reaction?! I'm out. If you can, please move your business to Forno Trattoria at 3088 E Main St, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547 (Cortlandt Town Center)! I've been a longtime customer at Nonna's and have really enjoyed their food in the past, which is why I'm so disappointed to be writing this. I wasn't planning to leave a review--I actually called first to give feedback privately, because I got pretty sick about 16 hours after eating their salad pizza and wanted to let them know in case others reported similar symptoms. The salad pizza itself was already a letdown before I got sick. It was literally just raw greens tossed on top of crust and sauce, and not in a way that felt thoughtful or well-prepared. As soon as I picked up the slice, the entire topping slid off into my lap. There was no cheese (which I thought was standard, maybe I misread the menu), and the whole thing felt hastily assembled with little care. Given how poorly it was constructed--and that the greens were completely uncooked--that could easily explain why I got sick. When I called to share this, the manager at first claimed it's not possible to get food poisoning from salad items, which is factually incorrect. Leafy greens are one of the most common sources of foodborne illness, per the CDC. To his credit, he eventually calmed down, apologized, and said they're committed to safe food practices--but that initial defensiveness and misinformation was troubling. I still hope Nonna's takes this seriously. I've supported them for years, and I wouldn't write this unless I felt it truly mattered--for the safety of others and the quality I used to love. read more

Very disappointed. Use to be my favorite place. First I ordered 3 things and only received 2. I wasn't charged for the 3rd however. Pizza was soggy, very salty and a little on the burnt side. Never returning. This night a Tall Caucasian girl with black pants , disheveled looking was working as the cashier. There were three people in front of me picking up /and paying for orders. She had on black food gloves the whole time while she was taking care of Customers. I ordered three slices no heat, She walks right to the pizza , places her thumb in to the pizza and in to the box the pizza went, I told her I'm not eating that, you never changed your gloves after you were handling that money. She rolled her eyes, slammed the box down ( she didn't disgard it) she put on a pair of new gloves and put three new slices in the box. I know the next customer will be served those slices. A very tall Caucasian Woman was working at the register. I had three customers in front of me paying for their meals. I stepped up and ordered three slices. She turns around with those same nasty black gloves and grabs the three slices ( not by the end of the slice) she stuck her thumb right in the center, and put those slices in a box. I politely said to her " you were handling cash and touching everything up front at the register. Then you put your hand all over my pizza. She gave me a evil look, threw the box to the side, ( I know she put that pizza right back) and changed her gloves and gave me three fresh slices. My question is? How can you handle money and food in that restaurant? She never said a word, I'm sorry, no problem. I went home and the incident kept replaying in to my head and I threw the pizza in the garbage. The food was delicious, even my picky teenager ate his food. The service was good the wait staff have a million things but are still attentive. The ambiance is a regular pizzeria though there is a eating area in the back we just ate in the front. Definitely will go again. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is there was a bit of a wait cause but the place is going non stop so it can't be helped. Also I wished since we were sitting for dinner that we got offered a seat in the back like other small group that came in after us. I held off on this poor review in the hopes that recent poor quality was just a moment in time. But it appears whomever runs or owns Nonna's now has run it down to as far as I can accept. Been a customer since day they opened. But like all good things all good things must end. Got a white pizza the other day. Used to be layer of ricotta then mozzarella. This one was mozzarella and then a couple small islands of ricotta squirted on top here and there. Never saw a white made that way and was not good. My normal regular pie just doesn't taste right anymore either. Can't tell if cheese or sauce tasteless. Wanted to see if anything changed but only further downhill. I understand prices high for ingredients but they raised prices and ingredients went downhill anyway. I will miss picking up there since very convenient to my location. Every time I visit my son, we eat at or from Nonna's. The pizza tastes like the pizza I use to buy in Ozone park Queens years ago. Very solid pies . Sad to write a poor review on a long time favorite, but time and time again they disappoint. How can you charge nearly $20 for a dinner that lacks flavor and looks unappetizing? Every time the pasta has been undercooked, chicken was dry, and sausage was raw. It doesn't take a genius to cook pasta. Incompetence at its best. I ordered for Sicilian slices. I must have waited 20 minutes at the minimum when I finally asked where my order was, they looked around for it and pulled it off the top of a shelf. I noticed that the pizza box wasn't even hot much less warm. Upon arrival at home, which is only 2 miles. I noticed that the pizza was cold, and the cheese on top was cold and hard. I love all of their dishes but to be honest I really don't like their pizza. We order from them all the time and love to sit in the restaurant now and then (especially because they give you delicious focaccia with tomato salsa bruschetta at the tables ). Their pastas are amazing, their marinara and "gravy" is awesome. Their parm dishes and heros (wedges) are great too (although their hero bread is not so great, definitely not Bronx bread as it should be). Sounds kinda negative so far but everything besides the pizza is spot on, original on many cases, done well, and just plain delicious. My favorite go to lately has been the baked ziti siciliano. My wife LOVES their Chicken parm. So minus the one star for their pizza. I tried again recently to give it another shot after a like 10 years and I could tell as they we're making it from looking at the dough and how they were forming it the pizza would not come the way it's supposed to. What happened to Nonnas?! I work at the hospital, we order all the time. I just picked up my normal order and it's not the same people making it. Incredibly disappointed, my salad isn't even eatable the lettuce is so saturated in dressing. The dressing always went on the side. Always a little nervous about restaurants in shopping centers but Nonna's does not disappoint. The pizza is quick, hot and absolutely delicious. They have so many pies to choose from but I always end up getting the plain slice of pizza with a side of garlic knots. The garlic knots are so good and they are a great value!! Service wise, this place is great as well. The staff is quick to bring your pizza over and quick to clear as well as being very helpful while ordering. Nonnas is a great value, not the best pizza in Westchester but definitely up there. Looking forward to trying their delivery in the future. read more

Worst experience ever! I am in a hotel, placed the order through yelp with special instructions of NO Pancetta and that I needed plastic ware. The software did not add my special instructions to my order and no one is standing by their product. Not yelp, not Grubhub, and not Nonna's. Went here on Sunday (3/19/23) with my family to celebrate my Aunt's birthday. We were a party of 6, and immediately went to the restaurant part. It was my 1st time here, and it is pretty much looks like an average pizza place. Although, the pizza dining area seems small. Anyways, we got there, and we were able to sit anywhere. We sat at the 6 person table in the corner. Our server was good, and immediately took our orders promptly. Most of us all got waters, and some sodas. Must say, when looking over the menu, they have plenty of options for a pizzeria! They have entrees from veal to pork, to chicken to seafood, and the fare of pizza as well as wraps and appetizers. We started with a fried combo with fried zucchini sticks, fried mosserella, and fried ravoli, as well as mild wings. Food was good, the mild wings for "mild" tasted a bit too spicy to my liking. The other people in my party liked it though. Also, there was only 2 fried ravoli in the combo appetizer that we ordered, and you'd think that it would be mixed in more and have more fried ravolis in them. oh well though. Also, salad comes with every meal that you order. While all the dressings were on the side, which helps, i did not like my balasmic vingarette that was served with my salad. it's okay though, as the apps came out shortly after i touched my salad. Next was the entrees, and depending on what you get, one can order vegetables with a potato croquet or pasta. I got A seafood dish with scallops, mussels, clams, and shrimp. I enjoyed it, and the other people also enjoyed their food. We got 2 veal dishes, 3 chicken dishes, and of course my seafood items. We all asked for boxes, as we took our food home with us, since it was alot of food. We also paid with cash, as with a credit card they charge a service fee. may be back another time. read more
