Sweet sausage and green pepper Large pie. Excellent!

Been coming to The Paradise for 24 years and have never been let down. Vic and family are great hosts and seeing regular family gatherings here make it very homey. I got their sweet sausage and green pepper to take home this week. Have had mussels fra diavolo, Veal parm, when available shrimp bisque is to write home about.

Paradise has been around for a really long time and is a really popular favorite with locals. You will always see people from the area at the bar or hosting a party in their space. I love local restaurants like this that look like they are straight out of the sixties. Service is friendly and I hope this restaurant lasts forever. We got pizza and pasta dishes for takeout. One pepperoni and one plain pizza, For pasta, we got Cavatelli, and ravioli. The cavatelli had broccoli rabe and sausage. The ravioli had ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. The pizzas are only 16 inch pies or less. The slices felt small. The pizza dough was sturdy and a little doughy. I wouldn't call it thin crust. The mozzarella was well spread. The sauce was on the sweet side and put on thinly. The crust was cooked well. Overall, a decent pizza. The cavatelli and ravioli pasta was overcooked, unfortunately. The sausage tasted like it was steamed or boiled. The person eating the broccoli rabe said it tasted different than what they were used to, so they weren't a fan. The cheese in the ravioli was not mixed well, the cheese was inconsistent and blotchy. The sauce is also on the sweet side. This is definitely a great local place and is tailored for the' tastes that have attracted customers for many years.

As always Paradise is the spot for feel good food like your family makes. They may be closed again [now] due to the surge in covid numbers again but I am hoping they will be able to open up once again soon. Stopped in w the dudes after we couldn't decide what to have for dinner... we randomly said in unison..Paradise?! And so it was!! Had the shrimp corn chowder and wow, this is a MUST!! Tried some lobster ravs which were delightful and then shared a usual delish pizza topped w shrooms and peppers. Idk what it is about their pizza but I have yet to find a place that comes close to this.

It's a nice neighborhood family restaurant in Montrose. I must say the place is very clean. When you enter the restaurant, the bar is separated from the main dining area, which is a good thing. You can have your meal while you are watching your favorite game on TV. The servers are very attentive, they didn't stop all night to come and check our table if we needed anything. Mind you it was a slow night, but I don't think that would have stopped them not to check on their customers. Started with a New England clam chowder soup with sausages. It was a bomb, one of the best ever had. Mussels in marinara sauce was amazing. Mozzarella sticks were ok. Don't care about the fried calamari!! Do not recommend to anyone. They were already breaded and frozen, over fried. If they were homemade, would have been better. Fettuccine bolognese wasn't that great, pasta was cooked right, but too much sauce. I expected to have right amount of meat sauce over the pasta, not served in sauce like that. At the end i got my free cream puffs because i checked in, it was good too!!

Thanks Yelp for the free pizza it was a great gift. This place is a hidden gem thanks for the heads up. I loved there pizza. Reminds me of back in the Bronx pizza. Thin crust nice and crunchy with a good homemade sauce. Added sausage which was nice clumps of sausage not that fake slices . Believe I bet the owner. Everyone is very nice and helpful. If your in the area stop by for a pizza. There food is just as good.

Simply put, this is the best place to go for a couple of pies in the area. It is my favorite pizza. It's thin crust and you can taste the inclusion of cornmeal with every bite. To be frank, it doesn't matter if I give Paradise 5 stars or 1 Star. It is an institution that has withstood the test of time in one of Westchester's most secluded communities. I love everything about this place. You walk in, and you are taken back to the Jimmy Carter administration. The inside hasn't been updated in years, but it doesn't matter at all. If you are someone who cares too much about ambiance and atmosphere you'll never make it through the door anyway, and it'll be your loss. In my most recent visit, I went with 5 close friends. Two of us had been here plenty of times and we finally got others to join us, and they didn't leave disappointed. First we ordered a family style salad. Then we got 4 pies, 2 plain, 1 with sausage, cherry peppers, and fresh garlic, and 1 with pepperoni and caramelized onions. With every slice I polished off I said to myself "I hope my grandkids can taste the pizza here one day." If you go here and don't get a cream puff, shame on you. This is a light and airy dessert that I wish would come to life so I could have a conversation with it. I'd ask him/her how their mother was and if their father was still working. I know I'm not making any sense, but God bless the cream puff at Paradise. The waitresses and hosts are sweethearts and I hope they stay in business another 75-100 years. Loook at this thin crust yet puffy and crispy!

So glad my family and I stopped by tonight to pick up a pie. This was probably one of the best pies we've had in a long time outside of the city. This was a thin crust pizza with just enough sauce cheese and pepperoni. The pizza had a nice crunch yet it was still soft in airy. We will definitely be back since we found this spot right by the river. Just a few blocks away. We took this pie to go and sat waterfront but will be back to enjoy dine in meal. Nice bar and locals chatting it up. Everyone was all smiles and friendly. Plenty of seating in main dining area. Lots of parking out front. Stop by you will definitely enjoy yourself!

Through Yelp Hudson Valley, I was eligible for a free pizza from the famous Paradise Restaurant. Despite working in the area for fifteen years, I have never eaten at this Verplanck staple. In business for almost 75 years, the restaurant is family-owned and operated and has been since day 1. I ordered a pie for takeout (half plain, half mushroom). Upon entering the establishment, I had a really nice chat with both the owner and the bartender. They were super friendly and personable. Onto the pizza -- I loved that the crust was on the thinner side -- not as thin as pizza in Italy, but definitely closer. I really liked that. A lot of local pizza places have such thick crust that it's all you taste and it feels so heavy going down. I could really taste every ingredient on the pie instead of just having a heavy dough/crust taste. It was nice and light. The sauce to crust ratio was perfect :) Can't wait to order more pies from Paradise! They definitely do pizza well - I will have to come by to try more items on the menu. Thank you, Paradise for taking part in our Yelp Elite event!

We know we really upset one of the owners by our last review, but if you don't get good feedback,…read moreyou can never improve. I love your restaurant. The last time I ordered takeout I got a salad with micro greens and some of the micro greens were already rotting. Nobody likes that. The toasted bun was old. We can tell it's almost a curse to have multiple taste buds and be a super taster, which is what we technically are. All we can say to the owners is that your staff, and we've been through this before with even Michelin starred restaurants that when people stop coming to your restaurant, there's something terribly wrong. We're begging the owners to please do something! When we used to go there for lunch,, I had many a happy vegan burger. Yet this is no longer the case because your staff is completely demoralized. Your food sits in the walk-in and rots because you don't have enough business. Last time we were there for lunch, or maybe it was the time before that, the bar was filled to capacity and people were laughing and joking. We were the only people in the restaurant last time we went, and then the pick up order was the death blow. Please, Owner do something! Do happy hour. Make a seasonal menu. There's something really wrong going on here and I don't see anyone addressing it. We truly hope you take this in the right spirit because we don't want our local restaurants closing, especially ones that we really enjoyed. The casual atmosphere, of the politeness and professionalism of the servers is great. One suggested we have is that your restaurant is pretty hard to find even though it's on the main street in Croton On Hudson. There are no outside signs and we walked past it so many times it's not funny. If you can't think of anything to improve your business, then if we were you, and we're not you, we would just close and cut our losses. Owners please use your imagination or ask other successful restaurants what they are doing because we know you have at least two others. Please do something to save your restaurant. We don't eat at McDonald's we never have. We've never had a fast food hamburger in our lives! It's the disgusting smell that got us and this was before I was vegan or vegetarian same goes for my husband. It would hurt us personally, even though it's not our restaurant to see you close . Maybe you overextended yourselves we have no idea, but one of the owners or investors must do something if you want to save this restaurant! DO SOMETHING! Please getting angry at us for telling our honest picky opinion is not going to pick up your sales. You should also invite feedback because then you know which mistakes you're making with the public instead of having a fit because somebody wrote a negative review of your Restaurant. If you would take the time to look at our reviews, you would see at the beginning we gave you five stars and now we just can't in all honesty and we're not gonna lie about it. Wishing you the best of luck and we know you don't like being told what to do, but you must do something unless you just are going to close this restaurant. You're paying people, except the weight staff of course, decent money we assume. Please don't waste all this effort that you already put in unless you think it's a better idea just to close. We're very sorry we had to write this review.
