I ordered through too good to waste. It's an app that NY have that allows a customers to check out the food, service and character of a business at a reduced price. I've used it on several occasions. Most business have various times you can pick food up. Calabria time is 30 minutes before the business closed. I went in five minutes earlier, showed my order to the man on register. He asked me to have a seat. He told the other person/worker in the store. I received a box of pizza. When I opened it, it looked like garbage, five slices of pizza they would discard. I have never went to a business, going through too good to waste, where I have felt like I had received garbage. That speaks for the character of a business. With pickup time 30 minutes before closing, there are many food that would fulfill the too good to waste category. For a reduced price, I was given old pizza slices that look like they were sitting around all day. I asked if he can warm it, and he said no. I told him that I have two orders, and he gave me basically the same thing he gave me the first time. Very, very disappointed. Again, this speaks to the character of a business, because thirty minutes before closing, they are many things that are too good to go or throw out. You do not give a customer something that you would throw out. Instead, you give a customer something that is too good to throw away. read more

Tis fine establishment makes one of the Finest true Italian foods around. From the soups, to the pizzas, pastas and more I have yet to taste anything here that was less than exceptional. I strongly recommend them, especially if you have a hankering for some good Italian food! read more

To invoke the name of Calabria, only to serve frozen food out of boxes is quite disheartening. During Covid I was pleased to hear that they were still making chicken Parm when other local pizza places were only focusing on pizza. So I pick it up and find it I'm eating the kind of cutlets that come frozen in a box. My immediate thought was "how much time does it take to bread and fry chicken cutlets and how much better would they be if it was actually fresh?" Wildly disappointed with that choice. Awesome food and delivery. Asked for two pizzas and one eggplant rollatini for 5:30 pm on Saturday. At 5:30 , not 5:29 or 5:31 the food arrived. It was probably hot but the two kids kept us from eating and we warmed the rollatini and slices in the toaster oven. The kids (4 and 7) polished off the cheese pizza and adults ate the rollatini and one slice of the Margherita. Both were delicious. Next lunch, the kids ate the remaining four slices of margherita but demanded the basil be removed. read more

There has been a change of ownership since my original review of this neighborhood pizzeria. I stopped in to grab a quick slice on my way home. In all fairness to everyone, it was after dinner but still hours to go before closing time. There was a regular "house" pie and one lonely specialty slice of unknown variety. I opted for a regular slice. While good, I can't say that it was anything out of the ordinary. The venue was clean and service was quick but the 3 star "A-OK" is where this lands. Maybe on a future stop it will earn an additional star. read more

To be clear, I have only stopped in for a slices during lunch. The House pizza is very good, thin crispy crust with no flop, and a good cheese/sauce ratio. Tangy. The sauce is wet (as opposed to gummy and pasty) and tastes like fresh tomatoes. House seasoning is minimal, which I like. IMHO, this is the best pizza slice to go in the Yorktown area. Heads up though, the house pies are really just large pies, so a counter slice might be smaller than you expect. Like two? Order three. read more

My daughter picked up a calzone for me it was the best calzone I have ever had! Stopped by 1/5/2023 and picked up 2 plain slices and a calzone really joyed the slices! The next day I stopped by around about 3 and there were only 2 slices that had looked like they had been there for a while, so I said that I did not want them, and I was told that was all that Thay had. Walked out I would have waited for a fresh slice's again this was at 3 so what was I being told I have to buy a pie, or you were not going to sell any more slices until the 2 that i did not want where sold read more

This was a perfect pit stop after a fall hike. The garlic knots were delicious and fluffy. I went for the baked ziti with eggplant and the portions were huge and yummy. The eggplant was cut up pieces of eggplant parmigiana in the baked ziti that was saucy and cheesy. read more

I'd heard good things about this pizza place and one night when I was in a hurry to get a pie, I decided to order online through YELP and have my husband pick it up. We ordered a cheese pie with mushrooms and black olives, nothing fancy, but it was soooo good I ate half the pie! Usually, when we get pizza, I have a couple of slices and put the rest away for the next day! I will definitely be ordering from them again and trying more of their food now that I know. As Bronx natives we have a high bar for pizza and Calabria is our favorite in the area. Sicilian pie is delicious - light and airy with the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. Specialty slices and pies are spot on! House dressing is delicious! read more

Probably one of the better pizza restaurants up here. Changed owners about 3 1/2 years. Danny the previous owner was a gem and insisted on the best scratch recipes and ingredients and even baked his own bread. It was the Cheers of pizza joints. He was the owner and always there and he couldn't find staff to meet his quality standards. Remains good pizza but just not the same neighborhood feel. read more

First time here. What a surprise. Less than five minutes from my sister's house, I must have driven past it a dozen times in the last four years. Don't be fooled by the simple exterior and decor. This is restaurant quality food, served at a pizza shop. Owner Dan Alo, was there today, and he told us everything is made to order, fresh. Bang on! Clams Oreganato, with either chopped or whole clams? Amazing. I got the chicken parmesan. Sounds simple, but it was terrific. My sister got broccoli rabe with fried garlic on linguine. Spot on. Dan made me a beautiful espresso, and then, the finale, he brought out Bronx lemon Italian ice, just like I remember it as a kid. Next time, I'll get the pizza, which looked fabulous, but we were swayed by Dan's fresh, made to order food. I'll be back, Joeyann will and so will my brother. Get you butt to this place. read more

I asked for my pizza to be left on the stairs. Gave a good tip so was expecting a knock, beep or call to let me know it was there. After calling to see where the delivery was since it was pushed under the outside door and out of sight, we got it half an hour after the fact ice cold. As for the pizza, they are pretty cheap with the toppings they charge $3 for on one side. This is not the only issue I've had with this place and I'm done giving chances. read more

Absolutely LOVE the food here. The tortellini is amazing. My husband and I usually go with getting a bunch of appetizers to snack on and they are always so delicious. Just the other day we ordered pizza for the first time. The Sicilian pizza is incredible and their plain cheese pizza is outstanding as well. I purchase all my calzones, wedges and pies from Calabrias. Their calzones are some.of the best I have EVER had. Their meatballs are delicious. I had them deliver pizzas for a meeting and they were gone almost as quick as the boxes opened. 95% ofbthe 40 people there said that it was the best pizza they ever had. Thank you Calabria. We decided to try Calabria's last night for the first time for take-out pizza. We had a Grandma's Pie ($22) and a Regular Large Pie with Pepperoni ($17). The Grandma's Pie was one of the best pizza's I have ever had - amazing taste, texture and appearance. The other pie was good also - seemed a little larger than most of large pie's we get from other places - my kid's found the pepperoni to be very spicy but there at least there was a fair amount of pepperoni on the pie. When I asked whether they take AMEX the answer was NO. I asked if they could try to get it and I was told it was too expensive and they would never take it. I don't understand this thinking at all. I just spent $40 on dough cheese and sauce and they can't afford to spend a little more on the Amex credit card fees to make me happy. I probably spend $150 a month on pizza and without Amex (the card I generally choose to use) I won't be returning to this place anymore. Too bad the pizza was good but the customer service was not. At least they could have told me they would look into taking Amex rather answering me the way they did. Also, they do not have a web site or and on-line menu - another poor decision. read more

The grandma pizza is really good- puffy, risen dough with only a little tomato, basil, fresh mozz and a lot of good olive oil. Not typical at all, but the flavor profile is what I am used to with "off the boat" parents. We will go back to try the other stuff. I hope it meets expectations. In a town where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a pizza place - yet all of them SUCK- a good one is desperately needed! When I went in to get a menu, the owner was wonderfully friendly, and the man who took my order had an accent just like me dad, so that probably bodes well for authenticity :) read more

The food was excellent, I would give 10 stars if I could! My favorite is the cauliflower pizza! The curst has the right amount of crunch and the toppings are cooked to perfection. Fabulous pizzas, pastas, salads and more! Previously we lived in Yonkers and found it difficult to match the pizza we were accustomed to. Then we found Calabria! Pizza is not the only wonderful thing about this parlor; the owners are what makes going there so fantastic. I actually like going in to pick up the food..for once. I had wanted to order a medium Hawaiian pizza. I was told they can only make the Hawaiian in a personal size or a large. No big, gets a large. There was a young guy in the phone who wouldn't seem to wrap his head around only wanting ham in half of the pizza and pineapple on the whole thing. In other words, a Hawaiian pizza, half vegetarian. He even called me back to confirm that my order was correct. Go pick up my pizza and shame on me for not checking but when I opened the box, it was half just ham and half ham and pineapple on a normal cheese pie. Okay no biggie kids probably new. When I called to explain the situation the owner / manager told me that I should have reminded them of how to split the pizza and they usually don't do half and half on pizzas. I explain to him due to dietary restrictions I could not eat the pizza I had just paid for and wanted a proper one. He asked if four slices of pineapple pizza would be okay instead of a new pie. Fine whatever I'm hungry. What I pick up is four slices of half warmed up cheese slices with cold pineapple on top. Not only was the original pizza the most slack Hawaiian pizza New York has ever seen, they could not properly fix their mistake. Def going to pizza pizzaz from now. read more
