We really enjoyed this pizza spot! The pizza had great flavor and the garlic knots were fantastic. We also tried the mozzarella sticks at our table and while they didn't look like they were going to be anything out of the ordinary, they were great too. Every time we go to the beach we have a pool pizza night and we've found the jackpot of gulf shores pizza! The square margarita pizza is done perfectly, the meatlovers was was meaty and had the yummy crumbled sausage. The meatball sandwich was superb and the customer service was top notch! Where to begin? Location - it's a corner place on the main street, ironically next to a Dominos. They have they own parking too. It's relatively small and there is also an outdoor area. You are immediately greeted with a big smile and super helpful host. Order at the counter and pick your table. The food - simply incredibly good. We went twice in a 4 day vacation. So here's the thing, I am a pizza connoisseur. Anywhere we go, I always make it a point to try local pizza places. To the point of frustrating the family at times lol. With that being said, the pizza was ok. I would give it a 6.5/7 out of 10. What's crazy, we bought $150 worth of pizza and it weighed in total 2 pounds. The pizza is very very thin, not many toppings, and our group of 9 smashed the 3 large 16" pizzas in about 10 minutes. We needed double wha we ordered. We decided to try Nonna's based on the great reviews we saw on Yelp, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The setup felt a bit odd--you have to seat yourself, then get up to order food and drinks, which wasn't clearly explained. We ordered garlic knots to start, but they were underwhelming--just basic dough with little to no garlic or butter. The bigger issue was the wait. After waiting over an hour, we noticed several groups who arrived after us receiving their pizzas before we did, even though we only ordered a cheese pizza and a margherita pizza. When we approached the owner to ask about our order, we were met with attitude rather than an apology or any effort to resolve the situation. Because of this, we ultimately left without eating. The Town Square Roni pizza we ordered is a big, thick, rectangle of a pizza with cup-and-char style pepperoni on top and the Greek Salad was lettuce, tomato, red onions, feta, and a few olives. Both were good, but for $30 for the pizza I was expecting something next level. So I guess I am saying there is no such thing as bad pizza and I would have another slice if someone else was paying for it. As a local, I go to local places during the off season. Finally got to try Nonna's. Overall it was a good pizza. Crust was nice and crisp, sauce wasn't overpowering, sausage topping was crumbled (which I liked) and cheese, although sparse was good. I will go back and support this business once the crowds leave. They seem to do a lot of delivery and pick-up business so despite being the only proper dining in, order to serving time was a bit long, but understandable. If you love Neapolitan pizza, Nonna's has one that is top notch! We're very picky since we have La Casa in Omaha. But we found Nonna's on vacation and are so glad we did a search for Neapolitan.
