My wife ant I had a great experience. The service was great and the food was good. We were able to bring our dogs and the servers were extremely accommodating. They brought extra water for the dogs. It's a tiny place to eat, but has its charm. We came earlier (brunch time) on a Monday before our flight so we didn't have any parking issues like so many others have mentioned. We struggled to find good food in Gulf Shores, but this was satisfying. My husband ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich, which was a little risky as he lived many years of his adult life in Chicago eating them. It was spicy and had cheese, but he really enjoyed the Alabama twist. I got the strawberry shortcake biscuit, which was small but delicious. I was definitely hungry later, but I learned quickly while in Gulf Shores that they know how to make a mean biscuit! :) My son got the Belgian waffle which he devoured in minutes. Parking is interesting. Limited and they had a guy guiding us in. Probably more walk ups since it's right near the condos. So just a heads up. Seated ourselves outside. Nice breeze, but cars driving by sort of dampened the "atmosphere". Live acoustic musician, nice job on that. Waitress came out pretty quick, took our order and got it going. Decent selection of stuff on the menu. Wife ordered the Baked meatballs and a side house salad. I ordered the meatball sub with kettle chips and a small Caesar salad. Food arrived. Portions were quite large. Meatballs were tasty. Good flavor. The sauce, good but I couldn't help but have recollections of something from a jar. But still tasted good. The Caesar salad, couldn't quite put my finger on it, but seemed too leafy than the usual romaine. Over all, not fantastic, but not disappointing. We seemed fortunate as for service. We did walk in and ask if we could sit outside so we were acknowledged and then the waitress came and followed up pretty quickly. There was a group of about 6 adults with / little kids that sat themselves and we never saw either waitress go over to them, so after a while they got up and left. Would we come back? We arrived later one night at Gulf Shores to a condo across the street .We were able to get a buffalo chicken flatbread and some drinks.My wife had a strawberry daiquiri,and I had a couple of old fashioneds with bulleit bourbon.It was what we needed after the drive in .The bartender asked twice if the drinks were good.It had live music too with some good alternative.We will check it out next time The Working Man Review is in town. read more

I'm giving this place a full 5 stars, not just for the delicious food, but for the way the staff handled an unexpected emergency while keeping everything running seamlessly. First things first: parking. It's limited and easy to miss, so keep an eye out. The restaurant itself is cozy--only two tables inside plus a small bar. If you're coming with a group larger than four, the outdoor picnic tables are definitely your best bet. They offer $10 wine bottle specials, which we, of course, took full advantage of. The staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. They moved us inside as soon as a table opened up--and that's exactly when an emergency occurred. A guest tripped on the stairs while leaving, and the team had to call an ambulance. Despite the situation, the staff stayed calm, efficient, and compassionate. They managed the emergency, continued serving guests, and our food still arrived promptly. The dishes were flavorful and authentic, portions were generous, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. Lauria's was ok. Got the muffaleta bagel that was piled high with beef. It was very tasty, and chose the pasta salad as a side. Also, had their Mango daiquiri. I suppose I would order all of it again, if I return. .Not sure when I'll return because I didn't feel welcomed. It was obviously a place where locals hang out, and the servers catered to them. They do have daily specials. So, maybe if I come often for those, they'll greet me with a smile. read more

The place is conveniently located, but unfortunately the attitude from their owner and security was atrocious. My friend parked on their lot, and didn't realize they would get booted within 5 minutes, so we pitched in to pay for our mistake missing the sign, but the attitude given by the security person there was the worst. I went to get a drink inside and sat out front, I did not make a fuss about the car boot, and just joked with my friends across the parking lot. Then suddenly, the security guy starts yelling at me and accusing me of trying to bring drinks from a different establishment, when I had a full daiquiri I had just paid for inside. I went inside to say something and to stop being verbally abused, but the owner totally ignored me, and the rest of the staff jokingly just told the security guy "don't yell at customers". I was not asking to do anything about the boot, or asking for a free drink or anything, just asked to not be yelled at in public for no reason. Even other people who witnessed this went inside to say something and be mocked. Go at your own risk, but I would not support a business who abuses and mocks paying customers. read more

Second time here for breakfast. Last time I got the breakfast pizza and it was amazing!! This time tried the muffaletta bagel abs hashbrown casserole. All my friends over easy eggs came out over well but it was a long wait so they didn't want to send back. Other than that it was great ! I can't speak to the food because we ultimately chose not to dine here, but I did want to share our experience. We pulled into the parking lot around 10:30-11:00 a.m. while grabbing coffee from the neighboring business. At the time, the restaurant did not appear to be open, and the parking lot was largely empty. I'm not sure how many people eat hot Italian beef at 10:30 in the morning. We were immediately approached by the parking attendant and told, quite forcefully, that we were not allowed to park there. I completely understand that private businesses have the right to enforce their parking policies, especially in busy beach areas. My issue wasn't the policy itself--it was the way it was communicated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. Because we had to leave, I ended up searching for another parking area and making a difficult left turn in heavy rain to get back onto the road. It turned what should have been a quick coffee stop into a frustrating experience. The unfortunate part is that we had actually planned to come back later that day for lunch because of the restaurant's proximity to our hotel. However, after that interaction, we decided to spend our money elsewhere. First impressions matter, and while the parking policy may be understandable, the customer service left us with no desire to return. read more

From the outside you wouldn't think much of it, however the food was wonderful! The restaurant inside is very small, about 5 small tables & bar seating. Service was good, people were being trained & it was busy. Your food comes out on a plastic plate, but rest assured, it will taste delicious! Our first night in Gulf Shores we went here for a quick bite. The inside is very small but everyone was outside for live music. We sat at the bar and were served right away. I got the white chicken flatbread which was really yummy. They had a couple local beers in cans. The first one was good but the second one I had was really slushy inside. When I pointed that out to the bartender he just said yeah it was in a really cold part of the fridge. I would have liked to be offered another beer or to have it taken off our tab. read more

This was my first time here and we went for happy hour. I wasn't prepared for how small the space was but I'm guessing it's more locals and the space is for sure intimate. There is also outside seating. We choose a 2 meat 3 cheese charcuterie board and it was beautiful and delicious! Would not recommend! When sat we had a server named Sidney who was very rude and seemed put out to take 2 of the 7's drink orders. We did not see her again. Found out later it was her last night and another employee said, "as it should be." Our table was then take. Over by a new employee. his service was pretty much non existent. The excuse was, "We are so slammed inside." Well, we were outside on the patio, up against the road And I guess we did not justify the same service as those sitting inside. Sidney was taking care of other tables, but would not give us the time of day. Ordered the baked Brie (which it was not baked) and it came with heavily seeded crackers. I asked the female that delivered the Brie if there was a different type of crackers because we could not do seeds. She said she would check with the kitchen and brought us out 5 small pieces of stale bread. She apologized in the time it took to get to the table as the kitchen was warming it up. It was cold, and did I mention stale? After the food was brought out, no one came back to the table. We could have used more water and another round of drinks. After finishing we sat there for about 15 minutes and the young guy came back to the table, once again stating how slammed they were inside, so we asked for out checks. He said he had to go inside to print the checks. He finally came to the table and auctioned off checks. We all paid with cash. Some needed change and others did not. Those of us that did not need change weee good to go. 3 needed change. 2 received change and the 3 asked for change and he tried to tell us the check was still open and had not been paid. They reminded him they had given him the money and they requested change. He continued to argue. Finally he remembered they did give him cash and he would be right back with change. We told him just to nevermind and keep the change. He turned to leave and on the way back in went to throw something away and was not all to happy as he slammed the lid on the can and it went flying to the ground. He turned around, picked up the lid and slammed it back on with a pissed look on his face. Real professional! On our way out, I stopped and talked to Jerry. He asked me what happened, so I filled him in. Jerry was awesome, fun and made us laugh from the time he sat us down until the time we left. Oh, and going back to the dry, stale, cold bread? $5 for 5 small pieces. I had mentioned to the male server and all he said was, "Well, there is nothing I can do. That is the way they do it." So unless you want mediocre food and really bad service with an attitude, do go here! read more

The food was not good and was heat up at best. My husbands has hash brown casserole consist of microwaved frozen shredded potatoes with cheese on top. My salad consist of bagged chicken that cost $5 for two small strips microwaved. My tomato Basil soup was good and did seem homemade. The waitress dropped my husbands to go cup, wiped the rim off with her hands and handed it to him to pour his tea in. So, I can't recommend this restaurant on that alone. read more
