I really wanted to like this place. The cashier was very friendly but I'm pissed to find onions in both of my burritos. That's the only thing I asked them not to put in my burrito. I don't know why this is such a difficult request. I'm not asking for anything extra, I just want them to leave something out. Just spent $85 there and I'm eating cereal for dinner now. Tried Nono's for the first time. It's in a weird spot- on top of a car wash and no other businesses around them are open. They do have outdoor seating, but you're listening to the car vacuums. It's a sit down place, which I did not expect. You order at a table, not the register unless you're taking it to go. I got a carnitas and al pastor taco. They're small but filled to the top with meat! The carnitas was not what I expected- not bad, just not what I thought was traditional. The Al pastor was great- really crispy! I would have enjoyed a sauce on both of them because they were a bit dry, and chunks of pineapple on the pastor. The salsa served at the table is more saucy than chunky so I used that as the condiment. It is on the pricier side, probably because there are not many restaurants in that part of town, and it's next to a hotel. I would go back to try other things. If you use a credit card, there is a surcharge. read more

Hidden gem in Mission Viejo!!! I had a wonderful shrimp and octopus caldo and my wife had a steak quesadilla with a homemade corn tortilla which she said was outstanding!!! Tried a few more things - cheese enchiladas had more sauce this time! The bean tostada had lots of toppings. The carne asada was solid but the crunchy tacos were not fresh cooked and seemed to be mass produced ones. So that was disappointing. read more

We had heard from our neighbors that this place was legit and delicious but hadn't had a chance to try it ourselves. For Mother's Day, my husband grabbed us a couple breakfast burritos and OMG. my new favorite!!!!! They have beans, cheese, and fries with the egg and bacon. Dream breakfast burrito. Food was below average. The worst part was the crunchy taco. Taco shell was pre made, it was like a store bought taco shell. Gave the smallest scoop of rice and beans. Beans are cheap give me a good portion. I will not be going back. Service a great they were very friendly read more

I wanted to grab a quick bite while my car was being washed. It was a protein bar or tacos -- I chose tacos. This was my first time at Nono's and it was terrific. The service was so nice and food was excellent. When I came in, I could see the trompo with the al pastor. I knew instantly what I wanted. The server started with some chips and salsa - both good and then came the tacos. Three al pastor tacos with onions and cilantro. The double tortillas were hot and a little crisp. We are so glad Nono's is so close to us. It's hard to find authentic tasting Mexican food that is quick and easy. Great prices especially for taco Tuesday, high quality meats that are seasoned very well, and lovely Hispanic music, not like most places with their AI-generated pop these days. I had some lab work done next door and wanted a breakfast burrito after fasting for 12 hours. Boy, did I pick the right place! The young lady took my order and then had chips, salsa, and a soda to me very quickly. The burrito was excellent! This is authentic Mexican food is in a nice retail area that has outdoor seating. Al pastor are the best tacos the have by far. The carne, carnitas and chicken were all dry, especially the chicken and carnitas. Dry and not much flavor. They give u free chips and salsa, but it's just ur typical salsa. No verde or nothing. Wish they had more of a selection of salsas served in the to go orders. read more

I love Nono's. My favorite spot for fish tacos as of writing this. Al pastor is on the trompo and is bomb. Shrimp tacos are also really good. Dine in for the best experience. Fish and shrimp tacos are the best fresh, but I also order to go often. Try the al pastor quesadilla on corn tortilla with all the fixings, and you will not be disappointed. Prior to entering the restaurant, there's a menu posted right outside the door which is convenient. The menu features several Mexican dishes. I kept it simple by ordering two carnitas tacos with rice and beans as the side. Unfortunately, the cashier was quite dismissive and somewhat unwelcoming. Food took about five minutes or less to be served to me ( takeout order) . As I waited I was pleased by the cozy ambiance and music playing. Once I opened my takeout bag there was a surprise... chips were complimentary. However, after tasting the chips, I felt they had lacked salt. The salsa that accompanied the chips was fairly spicy yet delicious. As a previous review mentioned, the tacos were full to the rim yet pretty dry.. the slice of lime given did elevate it a bit, however the meat did need a bit more moisture. The refried beans were incredible and had that perfect touch of lard. The rice had an interesting flavor... not bad, but also not my taste. Awesome place and great prices! I used to go to their older location before they located and am happy they were able to find a new location. The chips and salsa they include while you wait for your food is enough for me to dine in every time. Only issue is the restaurant is harder to find because it in the middle of a complex but I was able to stumble on it when I was getting my car worked on across the street. read more

The restaurant itself is small, charming, and very clean, including the restrooms, which says a lot about how they care for the overall dining experience. Food was mediocre, service worker was very confrontational. A Mexican worker with shaved head in his twenties, looks like a gang member, wears a black string necklace with a cross. This worker is trouble, he's looking for confrontation, Stay away from this place. The workers speak Spanish thinking that we don't understand, but they're saying nasty stuff and constant profanity in Spanish. When we confronted them about this, they wanted to take us on. My oldest kid was so excited to eat their birria, they scarfed it down and finished before everyone else. Shrimp tacos - I ordered two of these. The shrimp was PERFECTLY cooked. They were plump, juicy, tasty, seasoned well and sat in a bed of veggies with their sauce. I like to squeeze lime for the acidity or the green salsa from the salsa bar. Salsas - I love that green one. It's very mild for me and I could literally eat it by the spoonfuls. I can't remember how the red (hot) one tastes like. It's been too long and I forgot to grab some this time around. Overall, Taqueros, is still a place we love for Mexican food. It's not fancy, but it's delicious.
