This place can be really good or it can be very average and just depends on I guess what the day is how everybody's feeling. Some days the food comes out nice and hot other days. It's room temperature. Sometimes pieces are very chewy sometimes even get some tender pieces today the chicken was kind of lukewarm. The Carnitas and tri-tip were warmer. The go to I think that rarely disappoints is the Carnitas taco. I'll probably be ordering this one a little more from here on out as it usually comes out hot and the meat is tender and juicy. read more

I have been here before and the food is really good. It's one of the better mexican food restaurants in the area and has a fun vibe inside the restaurant. They also offer drive thru which is cool. They are usually pretty quick to take orders and get the food out while making sure the the food is always fresh. I ordered the CaliGuey Burrito and was not disappointed. What really took the cake was the NotCho Fries. You need to try this - I'll be ordering it every time I go (it's that good). 4/5! read more

Good little taco spot, if you know of it. Located down on Niguel away from the masses, but I like to get the OG Taco and/or Caliguey Burrito. The steak cuts are usually tender and well cooked, overall great quality for the price! I personally like the chubbie salsa, it's got a nice little sweetness to it. Service has always been friendly and helpful for me, they even have a drive through too but good food takes time to make so you'll need to practice a little patience if you're ordering a large item or a lot. I came in for taco Tuesday. I ordered the fish and the steak tacos. It was alright. I was not a fan. Sauce on the steak was sweet for me while the fish doesn't have a perfect ratio of fish and cabbages. I was ecpecting them to be like a street taco ( cilantro, onion, some salsa etc) but they add on these sweet salsa and for me it ruins it. Service was alright also and the ambiance was nice. Place has Mexican paintings/ drawings etc.. I expcect some Spanish music to match the decor but it was none of that.. this was my first time to visit because I was curious and now I know. Why 3 stars? I liked their chips and it was crispy with guacamole. They have limited offerings tho.. No longer a customer. Recently picked up a burrito and a quesadilla. Burrito and quesadilla were terrible. Both were greasy and the meat tasted old. The burrito was supposed to have cheese, guacamole and sour cream, but only meat. The burrito was a lot smaller than in the past. The quesadilla had no cheese and the tortilla was burnt. I got one shrimp taco and a large Diet Coke and it was $14. I literally pulled over within 20 seconds of going through the drive-through to eat my taco and the entire tortilla fell apart from being soggy. Half of it stuck to the bottom of the tin, and they only use one tortilla, so the entire thing was impossible to eat. On the drive home I was pissed that I spent 14 bucks on such a crappy lunch and then when I started thinking about it, I couldn't figure out why it cost so much. this place fell off after the remodel unfortunately. not sure if there has been a change in staff, food quality, or some combination of the two, but this used to be my go-to place for quick & delicious Mexican. ive given them a handful of chances after they reopened a few months ago hoping that they would improve, but sadly they have not. i wont be returning to this location. the Sancho's in Newport is a million times better than this one and consistently delivers quality product. i will always recommend Sancho's to others, but will now specify not to go to the Laguna Niguel location. I was killing time waiting on a bouquet across the parking lot when I wandered into Sancho's Tacos. Once a Carl's Jr., now something else entirely. The bones of fast food were still there if you squinted, but they'd been buried under slabs of hand-hewn wood and layers of graffiti that screamed East LA. This place wasn't trying to be cute. It wasn't trying to be anything, really, and that was the charm. The corporate gloss had been sandblasted clean. In its place, a gritty pulse. Booths carved like skate ramps. Countertops that looked like they'd survived a house party. The staff matched the space. Tatted up, shaggy haired, like they'd just bailed out of a half-pipe and decided to sling tacos instead of tricks. The menu was bolted high on the wall, written in that kind of faux-street scrawl that makes you lean back and squint. I ordered what the guy behind the counter recommended. One fish taco. One pork. Rice and beans on the side. Sat down in one of the booths and waited to see if my $6.50 per taco was going to taste like regret. It didn't. These were not your limp drive-thru tortillas filled with sadness. They were fat, overstuffed, unapologetic. I didn't need the third taco I'd considered. Hell, I barely needed the second. They came with a fork for a reason. These things fought back. They crumbled and spilled like they had something to say. The rice and beans? Basic. Banquet fare. You're not writing home about them, but you're not offended either. Just warm filler to round out the plate. This isn't my scene. I'm not the target market for a grungy taco joint dropped in the middle of polished, suburban Laguna Niguel. But food isn't about matching the drapes. It's about taste. The taco's are exceptional! But make sure they give you all your food at the drive up. I just ordered 7 fish taco's BUT only got 6 in the bag. Now my lunch for tomorrow is light. I will never go to Sancho's again!!! I went through the drive through and ordered a sausage sawed off breakfast burrito, I said sausage twice. When I got home I was given a bacon breakfast burrito. Sancho's was a good stop, I usually went 3 times a week before the remodel. The eggs were cooked right it had potatoes and good cheese onions ETC... a nice fat burrito. Now the prices are way too high and the size is a third smaller at best while the quality is in the dumpster. Now there are no potatoes, eggs are over cooked with no onions. The worst part is now you don't even get what you ordered, it's a grab bag. So I called to let them know of the mishap and not one person working there speaks enough english to understand what just happened. The guy thought that I called to place an order for a bacon burrito!!! Is it too hard to hire people who understand english? I have to say wow, what an awesome burrito I just had from Sanchos. I got the Surf and Turf burrito. Not cheap but wow did it pack in the steak and shrimp! And the flavor! Holy Moly, I was in heaven! It was so, so tasty and well seasoned. I can't recommend this place enough. That was not the usual Mexican drive-thru experience at all. The service was amazing as well. Sanchos tacos in Laguna Niguel used to have the best bacon breakfast burritos. Since they "remodeled" I have had 3 in an effort to give the benefit of the doubt. They are NOT the same. Not only are they higher priced but the quality has gone way down. The bacon used to be the best meaty bacon and the real reason I loved these burritos, now they are full of fat and so greasy. The bacon quality is way down and there were hardly any potatoes at all. Sorry to say I won't be eating here again. Service is quick. Ambiance is cool. Food is pretty good for Laguna Niguel. I liked that Hector's Salsa Sauce was actually spicy! 10/10 there. The surf and turf burrito was pretty good, but unfortunately there were only three pieces of shrimp in the entire burrito. There is nothing bad to say about Sanchos. This place is my favorite taco spot, and has always been amazing. It's a small place without a lot of seating which is great, it's cozy and fun inside. As with all Sanchos the inside is eclectic, lots of random decor and graffiti. The servers are always cool and helpful, and they always get any special orders correct. Now on to the food. It's amazing. The salsas are all delicious and range in heat for whatever you like. The shrimp tacos are the best I've had, the chipotle sauce on the shrimp with the cabbage and pico is the best. My wife ordered the tri tip tacos, where the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned with just enough spice and sweetness. My son ordered the nachos with chicken and they were drowning in cheese, meat, salsa, etc. it was very good but the chips did get a bit soggy towards the bottom (pretty standard). All in all it's a great stop for lunch or dinner, my entire family even noted that they couldn't improve anything! read more

I want to start this review off by saying that this place does not sell Mexican food. This is a washed down version of what you might think what Mexican food tastes like. What Sanchos needs to do is have a lil field trip to San Diego and pay for a workshop on how to make authentic Mexican food. The price always changing and is diabolical and the quality is trash. I had this kid correct me and tell me it's "tri tip" not carne asada to turn out it wasn't even tri tip it was some low quality soggy meat cubes with zero sear and flavor. If you are looking for Mexican food please look elsewhere. If I can give a negative review I would because this place doesn't even deserve a yellow star. Sancho's Tacos has some very good food in a cute little place with some very quirky décor. Although, they have raised their prices lately, but they do give pretty big portions, almost too big. I usually eat half and save half for lunch the next day. It's one of the better Mexican restaurants in this area. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. But yeah they ask you to tip at the drive through window and I'm like "What??!?!!? Shoot, I'm already paying 20+ for nachos through a drive thru and I'm supposed to tip on top of that????!!?!? We came here right when they opened at 11am today, they needed a few minutes to open and the girl took our order. They don't accept Vanilla Visa Giftcards for transactions, unless the card had the exact amount she mentioned. I went ahead and ordered their OG Taco $4.25, Half Order Chips & Salsa $3.85, Grande (Chicken) Quesadilla $7.99 + $2.95 for Chicken added, and Regular Soda $2.85. The decor was nice, tight seating space for maybe a group of 4 at most can be here. The chicken quesadilla was very cheesy and hot, that was delicious. OG taco was not as expected, though I skimmed the description so somewhere I didn't notice that the sauce would be sweet. The meat was really good and fresh, but yeah the sweet sauce on it didn't really make the taco as delicious. Chips & Salsa Half Order was enough to share for 2. It was definitely fresh as we had just come as they opened. Overall, the price is high for 1 taco where it tasted sweet and not something I was expecting. I had to look again what the description of sauce used and it stated "Chubbie" sauce which I really should have asked what the heck it was, but for those that like their tacos sweet like candy, then pay $4.25 for it.
