I spent $4.75 on a Vietnamese iced coffee to receive ice with around 3 sips of coffee. The rice dish, number 26, only had flavor because I added hoisin sauce on top. Couldn't even split the check for us and zero attempt to try and make things easier for us. Overall, would not return. read more

Super fast service!! First time getting pho; I've always gotten chicken vermicelli noodles at Viet places before. This time I tried the House Special Pho! It was so delicious. Filling, warm, and packed with a punch of flavor. The perfect meal on a cold night, and I walked away still feeling good even after putting down the entire massive bowl of food. The broth is a bit salty, but according to my friends that's how many pho restaurants are, and it was tasty nonetheless. Just made you a bit thirsty afterwards... Tip: make sure you use the basil!!! worst option for pho in the goleta area imo. below average broth, inconsistent portions, poor prep/knifework, super rushed service. everything felt oddly rushed despite being only 8:15pm~, staff asked around if people still wanted their vegetable plate and were collecting it back within minutes of being served. i ordered a large pho tai, but got the smallest portion of noodle i've ever seen. boyfriend got basically triple my portion despite also ordering a large. it was literally less than what you would expect in a small. like maybe a small fistful; no way someone looked at both portions and thought yeah they're the same. they did also come out in like two minutes but it was lousy. i'd much rather have quality than speed meat was more chewy rather than tender and was all clumped together. onions were cut unevenly, with some not being cut all the way through and some being too thick. even green onions were cut in huge chunks. only pro is that it's cheaper than other places but it's not worth saving $1-3 for the quality difference read more

Fun fact: I went to vietnam for a month in like middl e school and haven't had vietnamese since so congrats to this place for breaking this abstinence (and not breaking the bank!) - here we have the chicken and shrimp pho aka 14 and 14A - the timing to which this food came out would be concerning if it wasn't like very simple ingredients ya feel? probably under two minutes from when we ordered - love the assortment of sauces to add, especially because pho is pretty simple on its own so being able to add spice, bean sprouts, lime, etc is necessary for my palate - decent price for the huge bowl and endless options. the roll sample appetizer looked beyond tempting - there was a huge amount of chicken which is so fire. the noodles were perfectly cooked. but beware ab shrimp... it was reportedly SUS... so maybe avoid that - Service is very minimal interaction. I also think there is only one server, so that is probably how the restaurant is able to keep the cost of food low. They also have many vegan meats! I love their pho and vermicelli plates. Previously when I came here I wasn't impressed, but after visiting it today I've come to realize the pho is really good here. The broth for the pho had a nice favor, but their large pho was too small for me because it took me 5 bites to finish all my noodles. You can taste the beef, light star anise flavor, and it doesn't have that MSG/strong MSG flavor or oiliness in the broth. The basil they provide has a very fragrant aroma and the veggies looked fresh. The bun wasn't really to my liking, but I don't have a lot of experience eating bun so I can't really comment on that. What ruined my dining experience was the chef continuously burning something so it kept smelling like burnt food, and couple people coughing which made me think covid, cold's, etc. They do charge you if you want extra stuff, extra veggies were $3 and they gave us less portion than our free one. The gang's go-to noodle spot in town. Usually, we go for the pho, but we've started to expand beyond just the pho section now. The pho itself is phenomenal - delicious flavor and reasonably priced. The large is only a few cents cheaper than the small and is practically 2x bigger, so great value there. The broken rice plates, bun, and chow pan noodles are also delicious; and the Thai Iced Tea is superb. Great lunch choice - just note that it's popular and seating is limited. read more

Wow. The customer service was absolutely terrible and the server was beyond rude here. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left. It wasn't only directly to me but to others as well. The male server with dark shaggy hair and dark framed glasses was atrocious. He rudely and aggressively told me which table to sit at, slapped a menu down and literally tossed and slid my pho bowl on my table as he was walking by without saying a word. I was sitting alone near the register so I was a little more aware of what was going on around the restaurant. He received a phone call and yelled at the customer that they didn't know what they were ordering because "you can't order beef and ask for vegetarian". Instead of correcting or educating the customer he said "you're wasting my time" and hung up. Obviously, I couldn't hear what the customer was saying but as a server, you should never respond in such a rude way. Apparently the person on the phone called him rude because he told the other server that. The server responded with "well you actually are pretty rude". He then said "well all these people keep asking me for stupid stuff. They're wasting my time. I'm just trying to get out of here and go home." He then proceeds to push a cart around and rudely interrupts everyone with "are you done" and snatches their plates and bowls from them. There was also a nice elderly woman sitting alone at the table next to me that kept trying to let him know that her meal was good. There was no way he didn't notice her. He was just clearly being rude and ignoring her. She attempted to tell him at least 3 times with no response. It was kind of heartbreaking to see. Of course when it was my time to pay he literally threw my credit card and receipt on the table without saying a word. The pen even rolled off the table. My friends and I had made plans to come eat here but I decided to stop by before we came as a group. I informed them of how disgusting the server was and we have all decided to take our business elsewhere. I think people really need to reconsider coming here. If you read other reviews you will clearly see this is a recurrent issue with this same server. It's really not that hard to be a kind human being to one another. You never know what someone is going through so don't be a jerk and treat others with respect. PS. The food was ok. Ordered the #9 rare steak and well cooked beef with added tofu. I always heard great things about this restaurant and I'm really happy I stopped by today for lunch. The service was extremely quick. I sat, was given a menu and ice water, ordered, and had my food I front of me with in five minutes of entering the place. Food was piping hot and incredibly delicious. Sauces, chili oils and paste are already on the table along with chopsticks and spoons. Servers continuously walked by refilling water. Portions were large and I took the rest to go. My only complaint I have is that I was looking a head of time at the menus online and the prices were higher at the restaurant. That was the only thing I was slightly disappointed about. Regardless, the food quality, portions, and attentiveness of the staff made it worth it. I my only recommendation would be to adjust the online prices to the actual prices so that there is no confusion. Other than that, everything was great! read more

I eat here 2-3+ times a week so I feel pretty qualified to review this place. The food here is excellent. Their pho is the best in town and its not even close. Prices and quantities are both great. They also have many Viet dishes you don't see as commonly such as tiny noodle patties called banh hoi, which are very tasty. Overall I would say that the pho stands out the most but other dishes are good. The only food complaints I have is that I'm not a big fan of their fish sauce. I love fish sauce and theirs tastes sort of.... odd. If they had better fish sauce I'd probably give their food a solid 5/5. Service is fine. I am so so sad. I came here due to raving reviews from my friends and though the food wasn't bad, the service was AWFUL. I asked for a large and was given a regular- not an issue at all! I am never the kind of person who is difficult as I am a waitress as well so I always treat staff with respect. I wasn't even going to ask for a large (even tho it's what I asked for) until my friends urged me to see if I could get a large instead. After asking the lady she immediately gave me attitude and said that she checked with me and she knew I said regular. Whatever that's fine I get it things can get mixed up (especially since she didn't write anything down). But unfortunately it only gets worse from here. She goes to the back and starts talking about me, loudly enough for the whole restaurant to hear. I see the other staff laughing and glaring at our table. I look back and she gives me the nastiest look. Immediately I am so uncomfortable. I want to cry. I am genuinely confused as to what I did. She comes back with the large I say thank you so much and apologize- attempting to make amends and she drops the bowl off and leaves immediately without even making eye contact with me. Then the other staff come to fill up our water, again I'm desperate to make nice so I say thank you and she also gives me a nasty glare and leaves. At this point I literally want to cry- maybe I'm sensitive but I legit felt like I was dealing with middle school bullies. The whole thing felt so unreal and my friends were shocked at the rudeness. Food was good and served quickly as most pho places will. BUT the service was very very rude. My friends and I sat separately because their tables seat a maximum of 4 people which is fine. Then a table opened up next to one of ours so I asked the waiter if we could switch tables and scoot them together. She said she unfortunately can't do that as the open table was reserved for parties of 1-2 which is reasonable but continued her comment with, "but you don't have to sit here if you don't want"..while pointing to the door. Basically telling me to get the hell out if I don't want to sit where I was. I thought this was an unnecessary comment as that is not a way to treat customers. How does this place have only 3.5 stars? I was stoked on everything! We ordered egg noodles with pork, rare beef pho, egg rolls, and a chicken and rice dish. Everything was 10/10. This chicken and rice dish came with a hefty side of romaine lettuce and vegetables. Everything was so fresh and crispy. The guys are really busy taking orders and preparing food, so don't expect a lot of server talk. But the plus side to that is that we got all of our food in 5-10 minutes after ordering. Noodle city is probably some of the best Vietnamese food I've ever had. I mean seriously, I went into this planning on taking a picture for a great review and ate the food instead haha. If you're craving somewhere fast, delicious and cheap, this is your place. And when I say fast, they'll have your food out quicker than 5 mins after ordering. First time visit to this establishment. Our food choices were the chicken pho, pork plate dish, pork chop plate dish, and the appetizer sampler plate. Overall the main meals were good enough. However if you are choosing between the pork dish and the pork chop, go with the pork dish, only because you get one thin pork chop. Regarding the sampler plate of the spring rolls, egg rolls, and the crispy fried shrimp, the egg rolls were the best of the 3. Now as for service, they get a 5 because they were quick and efficient. The best bowl of pho in town and beyond ! We had pho for take away. Everything was packaged well and neat. The broth was so delicious! You can really taste the complexity of herbs simmered for hours to make the most flavorful bowl of pho. It was served with tons of fresh bean sprouts, basil, mint, cilantro, peppers, snd onions. The protein was packaged separately to add to both noodles and broth . Lots of fresh and well cut meats. You can not go wrong with their bowl of pho. We also got to try their Vietnamese coffee.
