I've passed by this place so many times and finally gave it a try. The lady owner was very friendly and introduced me to many of their noodle items but hubby and I was not in the mood for noodle. Instead we ordered we ordered a mix of meat and vegetarian dishes: - Wonton in spicy sauce, this was definitely not spicy but more on the salty side. Make sure to mix the wonton with the sauce on the bottom. If you're not used to Sichuan Chinese food then you might think this is too oily. - Salt & pepper fried tofu was very crispy and not greasy. Would love to see more onions or sliced peppers in this dish. - Shanghai vegetable spring rolls were too soft and tasteless. Definitely not made in house, I'll pass on this. - Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf is a classic Dim Sum. It's filled with ground pork and shiitake mushrooms. I love the mini version. - Chicken in garlic sauce & Eggplant in garlic sauce both items are flavorful and umami-rich garlic sauce! I minus a star because some dishes were too salty. ***Szechuan and Cantonese food*** I purposely ordered traditional Chinese food, not the Americanized Chinese food. Very pleased with the dishes. Appetizer: Steamed chicken with chili sauce. -It's thinly sliced chicken thighs. Then topped with SPICY, homemade chili sauce. I asked if they made the chili sauce since it was super spicy and delicious. The woman said they grind up four different types of chili peppers. Delicious! Chongquin chicken - Think popcorn chicken lightly coated with Szechuan peppercorn and stir-fried with tons of red, dried chili. This was the best chongquin chicken I've had in WA state, even better than I've had in Seattle. Crazy, huh? Used to order it at Family Garden since I thought that was the only restaurant that offered this dish locally but this is much, much better. The flavor was intense and had that nice, numbing feeling and spicy but not so bad where you're dying. House Special Fried rice: - Really enjoyed this dish since it's made traditional where the rice is still light and not overly salty and coated with soy sauce. Fragrant and tasty. Dan Dan noodle: - The noodles were excellent. It had that nice chew and not overly cooked. However the sauce seemed identical with the chicken chili sauce and not the type I'm used to where there's some peanut butter in it. If you're used to that type like me, that's Americanized Dan Dan noodles. Broccoli and garlic: - Another traditional made dish in white sauce with tons of minced garlic, not the thick brown sauce. Fresh and crispy broccoli. I would order it again. I spoke to the woman at the counter (I think she's the owner) and she said that the cook is new within the past year and from LA so I'm guessing that's why their food may have improved. This was my first time trying it so I can't compare the food from before but just comparing it based on the past reviews. ***One warning: they are understaffed and only have one cook, I think. So it will take a long time to get your food so expect a wait. Go when you have time to relax and enjoy good food but not during a quick lunch break. We ordered take out because we heard great things. They said it would take 30 minutes. When I get there, our order is on the counter, but she said they were waiting on one of our entrees. Twenty minutes later, it was ready. Our food took 50 minutes not thirty, as they said. By the time we got home, all the food was cold, except the entree that I was waiting on. My question is why not back up all food together instead of letting it sit on the counter? Our lunch was $61.00, which I also think is expensive for lunch. read more

The tofu and eggplant dish was great wit! Crispy fried tofu and a savory sauce. The udon soup has a spicier - decidedly redder - spin with classic Chinese (vs Japanese? soup base. It's definitely not at all like standard Japanese udon broth. But even my picky 11- year old son and husband really liked it. Boiled fish with Sichuan pepper. Ok. This does not sound appetizing but the owner recommended it and it's awesome. The portion is generous and the tender fish are swimming in this beautiful broth full of bok choy, lemongrass, celery, cilantro, and yes! --sichuan pepper which does weird tingly things to your tongue. THE hidden gem of Tri-Cities I want to start by saying I've done some traveling to other countries as well as many of the states, and this place is in my top 5 places you MUST try. Its is my favorite Cantonese restaurant, and that's ever. The food? Beyond Delicious. Wonderful flavors, excellent quality, and very authentic. The Service? A+ Incredibly friendly with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Experience? A must try if you like Chinese or authentic Cantonese food at all. Excellent authentic Chinese food in unassuming setting. It is definitely much more than noodle. they have full menu of Cantonese and Sichuanese cuisine. Just had a great family meal for New Year's Eve celebration at this restaurant under new management. We were pleased with every dish we got to try. We typically don't eat very hot food, so we asked for very mild spice on the "steam chicken with chili sauce", that was a perfect appetizer. Even our kids who didn't normally eat anything spicy loved it. The moo shu chicken was the only thing we remembered to take a picture of, and it was delicious, flavorful, but not too strong nor salty. We had the peppered fish fillet and beef noodle, both made to be mildly spicy, so that worked well for us. It is the special kind of Sichuan spicy, different from any other kind. Having waters filled on a tray before dinner should be a big health hazard. Potstickers was mediocre at best. Beef braised soup lacked the subtle flavors you would expect from a restaurant who has slowly tend to their broth. Hands down the best Chinese food in Tri Cities. We usually go to Din Tai Fung for dumplings and food if this nature. Everything we ate was amazing. The Chicken won tons in chili sauce, chicken chow mien, fried rice and dumplings were incredible. We are very picky about cleanliness and overall experience but this was something to write home about. Everything was clean and organized. The owner is so sweet and the service was fast. If you want genuine authentic Chinese food, this is the place to go! There is a bit of a wait but that's because they make it fresh.

So inconsistent. I've gotten their special spicy beef noodle soup twice now and both times were starkly different. The first time was a near-five-star experience and the second was a three-star experience so I guess an average of four is appropriate for now. First off, the handmade noodle is bomb. Chewy and tasty. The portions were good (the first time) but the second time, it looked like somebody had eaten out of my container. I was VERY close to not eating it because I could even see the top of the line where the oil from the broth had left a mark, and then the line where the soup actually was. I was grossed out but I had no proof and I couldn't imagine that somebody would do that so I just ate it. Still bugs me to this day. The meat chunks were also plentiful (the first time) but the second time, I had three pieces. Three. That further fed my suspicion that my food had been touched but again, no proof. They are pretty much all fatty pieces so if you aren't a fan, try another dish. Needless to say, my first time was super satisfying and the second time left me uneasy and hungry. Just in case it's a result of staffing, I'm avoiding coming here on Thursday evenings now. Anyway, I'm a fan of this authentic joint and it's the closest thing I've found that reminds me of OC Asian food. Shall be back! read more

Chongqing chicken is the best here! I get it probably once every few weeks (sometimes every week haha) and it's consistent and so delicious! It however is very spicy so if you're not use to the Szechuan pepper it may feel odd! The Dan Dan noodles are also a hit. I have always gone to Seattle/Portland for xiaolongbao but I'm so stoked they have them here in the Tricities!!
