I ordered the exact same thing as I did a few days ago. Yakisoba with extra veggies and no mushrooms. There are no extra veggies. There are mushrooms in the yakisoba. Oh and don't forget a hair in my Yakisoba as well! Also (not so much a complaint), last time it came with clear soup, this time it came with miso. If I knew it were miso I would've at least asked for no soup or a different soup. That way I wouldn't have to waste. Honestly, we enjoyed the food. The onion mushroom soup was a great brothy soup and my daughter's roll was delicious. The Scorpionion roll is $25 and should have softshell crab in it along with fried shrimp and avocado. When brought out it looked great. Upon closer inspection it did not contain softshell crab, just shrimp and avocado. I asked the server and she could not tell me where in the roll the softshell was. She asked the cook and they said it is in it, but wouldn't come show me where. The waitress, not her fault, was just relating the cooks message. I went with my little sister and right off the back the service was amazing. All the servers we had were polite, kind, and helpful. They would constantly be making rounds to check if we needed anything more or how were we liking things. The ambiance was very nice, it was inviting and relaxing. It wasn't super loud or crowded. It didn't feel stuffy being there. The food? Flavorful, everything we had was just good and fresh. My sister really liked the sweet potato sushi roll and tempura and she hardly likes trying new things so it was awesome that she enjoyed other things besides the chicken teriyaki that was serve sizzling hot on a skillet. We bought into the reviews put up by others when we decided to go try this place with all the good or better reviews. BIG mistake. We got terrible service and awful food (or was it awful service and terrible food? Hmmm, either way, you get the idea.) And even though their website and their menu offer "hibachi" (expecting that means cooking at a flat grill in front of the guest) ... not a chance. They don't do hibachi (teppanyaki style) here. Big disappointment ... we should have left and gone elsewhere. We went after the usual "dinner rush" (deliberately) and asked for a quiet table so we could visit and discuss the day's other fun stuff. Ummm, nope, not so much. We were given that most charming of spots in every dining establishment ... you know ... the one closest to the kitchen door?!? We made our food selections based on the menu descriptions and other YELP reviews ... another big mistake. Nothing matched the descriptions, not by a long shot! I should have taken a hint of what else to expect when the pages of the menu were hanging on by half a staple (no joke! look at the picture!) Our tempura veggies came out undercooked, cold and greasy (think automotive lube kinda greasy.) The "prawns" ... not so much, I'm sorry to say. The first bite tasted a little off... with good reason. The cooks had not bothered to even clean the "mud stripe" from the prawns before battering and deep frying (how they came out to the table cold simply boggles the mind.) When we asked for the unsatisfactory food items to be sent back and be re-made, the table server told us straight up that the cook and the manager didn't think the food was substandard but that they'd do it "this time but they thought it was unnecessary." When we asked for the aforementioned manager, the server told us her manager was busy but would try to get to us in a bit. We didn't wait that long. We asked for the bill and sort of assumed the house would make some gesture of contrition with some kind of adjustment on the bill? Nope, not so fast. That didn't happen, either. We left with a promise to ourselves ... we're never going back and if friends or family ever ask for a good place in the area, we most certainly won't be steering them toward this place. Never again. Really love this restaurant! Their sushi rolls are delicious, chicken teriyaki is top tier, hibachi filet mignog is simply amazing, & the yakisoba is to die for. They have so many different options, whatever you may be craving or in the mood for they have it. The ambiance of the restaurant is great; good lighting, nice & clean, soft music playing, nice decor. Service is always fantastic as well, everyone is extremely friendly. They have great lunch deals where you can try a few different dishes. Highly recommend this place, it won't disappoint read more

I didn't have high expectations for Japanese food in this area but this restaurant was definitely far below average, even for Tri-Cities. I was debating whether or not to give Shiki a two star or one star rating. The food only deserved one star. Most dishes were meh to downright awful. The soup base to the ramen had very little flavor. The filet mignon was not as advertised since it was quite chewy I'm certain it was a lower quality cut of meat. And the seaweed that was wrapped around the sushi rolls was gummy and sticky, not crisp, which means they probably used very old out of date nori. I bumped the rating to two stars because at least the servers were nice. But the food was so bad nobody that was in my party plans to come back. If you're in the area and you really have a fixing for Japanese food, I would highly recommend you try somewhere else. read more

When we walked to the counter (6:45) one of the servers whispered to the other to not sit us down, then the one we were talking to told us that they closed at 7pm and were only taking to go orders very rudely . If you were the large group in the corner, I was sat at a table near you guys yesterday and I've been coming for about seven months now and every experience wasn't top notch but I've never had a sweeter staff, they treat you as if they know you personally. Sure the food doesn't always arrive when you want, but you need to consider that they also do take out, and that there are other tables to be served like mine. And judging by the way you talked down to the sweet lady trying to apologize for the inconvenience and by your past reviews, I notice a pattern that you tend to be inconvenienced very easily. I recommend going to 4 or 5 star restaurants if you're looking to be served the best of the best. I also urge you not to go to local businesses or restaurants with the expectation of high quality service seeing as they're not company regulated. My husband and I came to eat here and got here at 5:40 pm and ordered at about 5:50. We then waited until 6:50 to get one sushi roll and one yakisoba. The sushi roll came out entirely wrong and then it took until 7:30 (30 whole minutes!!!!) to get ONE sushi roll REMADE after the restaurant messed up. I then requested that the single item be comped due to the almost two hours to get the correct item that I originally ordered. The waitress told me that she can cancel my order and get us the check without giving us the food and I said no because I was hungry and wanted the food I ordered two hours ago. Highly disappointed and will be making sure that everyone knows not to eat here. Really awful service, and a very long wait time. Would rather go to Tokyo, Osaka, or any other competitor sushi joint. We decided to try another sushi place even though our favourite is closer to home, near Clearwater and Columbia Center Blvd. While the appetizers were better than our favourite, such as, the jalapeño and yellowtail had a much better presentation and attention to detail in the size and thinness of cut with the jalapeño. It makes a BIG difference with this dish and not many can pull it off well. The chefs did well with the spring rolls and jalapeño/yellowtail sashimi for sure. The rock and roll, rainbow, and Tri Cities rolls were well presented and done with attention to detail. Not a significant difference in flavour. I do like how they're all on a single large dish though. Why three stars?? Well, our go-to place on Columbia Center Blvd has a dining room staff that is so well trained that the service comes as close to Nobu's as you can get. The management simply hasn't trained the staff well here at all. So overall, a few things are better here but the ambience and service is not enough to make us change our minds about our favourite place. read more

Out of many sushi spots in Tri Cities, Shikis has been my favorite by far! Everywhere I go I always do a spicy salmon roll and whatever else but here the rolls are sooo delicious. The salmon is fresh, the rice is nice and soft, every bite is flavorful and soft. You can tell when the rice has been sitting or hard and cold but every time I come, I leave satisfied the team has been very welcoming and attentive with me. First time I've had to put a review of such a low rating. Came in to order 2 rolls 2 misos a salad and a Takoyaki for an appetizer as a date. When I tasted the first Takoyaki I noticed there was no octopus when I chewed it , just pure fried rice flour. I opened the second of the 6 to see that just a sliver of octopus was present. Thats when I brought it to the attention to my server, which was met with a I quote, " that's just what we have here, it's not made in house it's bought' . I'm giving Shiki Sushi & Grill 1 star because we didn't get sick, which was a nice surprise! The spicy tuna and yellowfin tuna rolls were minced. Yes, not composed around a piece of raw tuna surrounded by rice and seaweed, but minced tuna that tasted of a can (and not the good 'Wild Alaska' tuna, but the shredded bumble bee that cats won't eat). The spicy tuna was also dyed red, as if they used beet juice but you know it was just food coloring. I read other reviews and I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who had to send food back, and I wasn't the only one who had bad shrimp. Quiz: How do you screw up shrimp? Bad oil, bad prep, and zero respect. Also, don't be fooled by the restaurant's pictures. The waterfall facade can be ordered on Amazon for $92.78, and the benches are from the previous Chinese place. Pro tip: If you peeked into the large 'bar' / sushi prep area... instead of people you'll see cardboard Shyamalan boxes... Everywhere (like ghosts, but without the personality). Highlights? The beer was very cold. Didn't get sick but thought we would (added a thrill to the evening, and a smile in the morning). At first I was going to get the teriyaki but after looking at the menu and seeing all the tempting pictures, I decided to go for the sushi...we ordered the Ninja Roll and the Rainbow Roll.
