I used to love this place, but I'm no longer a fan since their recent "makeover". Its rebranding change was intended to come off as more "upscale" and classy, but really all they've done is raise their prices, removed the meat from the dishes (unless you expressly order them with meat -- for which you now pay extra), and on top of that, they "upgraded" their payment card reader to guilt you for a tip before receiving your order when there's no table service or delivery. I'd call that an "upgrade" in audacity. It's still just a fast food place to me, though I used to consider it one of the better ones. My last time there was my last time there. read more

I ordered extra steak in my noodles and there was no steak at all, only noodles and tomatoes. I understand mistakes are made, but this was done on purpose. The individual (small Hispanic male) made several errors while completing my order and he even went on to explain about the upcharge for extra steak in the Asian noodles. He had to have the manager (Loretta) correct it, and he went to fix my order. During this time, she also reminded him of the extra steak. So, he clearly understood my order. I drove back from my doctor's appointment to work 25 miles to discover NO MEAT AT ALL. I know he was clearly upset with me and became loud with the manager when she had to correct the original order. I called and he (same Hispanic male) answered and immediately knew who I was and said, "wait there was no steak in your order." Again, I know this guy did this as a form of retaliation and visibly already having a bad day. He offered me a "BOGO" half off meal, and I again pointed out that i was 25 miles away, and spent extra for my meal and he said, I can't help you and handed the phone to the manager (Lorette). Well as you can see its half eaten because it was delicious! With this place having few reviews I never consider it as choice to eating, but....with Manhattan having few places to eat (I'm from San Diego) I figured I give it a try. I was really taken back by their large selection of different noodles including zucchini noodles which I absolutely loved. This place is definitely worth a pasta trip for sure and will be back. I believe I paid about $30 for 2 meals which wasn't too bad. I must add the tomato IS A MUST! The soup was thick and chunky, I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm so happy to write this review! This is my first experience visiting a Noodles & Company. I am pleasantly surprised! My sever gets two thumbs up right off... I ordered the Thai Green Curry with Shrimp and when I asked for a small Caesar salad he let me know that I could order it as a side salad. That was really awesome because, I wouldn't have been able to finish the bigger size. He also asked if I would be using my military ID for my discount. I sat to wait for my order and when he brought it out to me he noticed I had forgotten my fork and he went and got one for me! On to the food... the noodles were perfectly cooked, not to mention the definite star of the show at my table! They were topped with toasted black sesame seeds and a lime wedge that I took the liberty of squeezing overtop my dish. The dish was filled with brightly colored crisp vegetables! There were five shrimp and they were large and not fishy! They offer free wifi, kid friendly, even for those little ones that are in that running all over the place phase! read more

You can tell the quality of the food is definitely lacking. Basically some ready made noodles thrown together with different sauces. It's a hit or miss if the noodles are overcooked, undercooked or cooked well. I've gone here whenever I get a free coupon for a free bowl of noodles otherwise I wouldn't bother. I get the same thing every time, and I have no complaints. Japanese pan noodles, sometimes with tofu, other times the noodles are filling enough. After a long day at the lake we rushed to Noodles! We as a couple love the Mac n cheese! However when we got there 15 minutes before they closed we were greeted with less than eager faces and were told twice without another word that they were open "for like 10 more minutes" with attitude, by one of the line workers. He preceded to then turn his back on us and started to walk towards the back, another line worker politely said he would ring us up and took over. He made conversation and made us feel more at ease. The last thing we wanted to do was keep them. But they then all continued to snicker and whisper around our food whilst rolling their eyes. This is a chain that I resisted going to - I went when I lived in Nebraska because I either got coupons for buy 1 get 1 which gave me a free lunch or took my grandpa because he likes noodles. I can make my own noodles at home for cheaper. My husband wanted to try it, so we went after the volleyball game last night. Nothing really appealed to me. The hubs ordered the special "Thai hot pot" which came in one size and had chicken and pork. Since I do not eat pork, I couldn't try it. I ordered the small mac and cheese and asked if the meatballs were beef. The cashier was not sure, so I just got the mac and cheese by itself. It is cool that there is a coke freestyle machine, but that was not advertised and I did not really get a chance to order a drink - she asked Eric R. but not me, and he just wanted water so she slammed two glasses down and rang us up. Oh well. It was seriously the Arctic inside the restaurant. Outside was chilly too so while there was a patio, it was not much warmer. We asked the cashier to turn up the temperature and she said no. We were shivering in our booth. The food came out relatively quickly. Mine was dry noodles with a little cheese sauce in the middle and shredded cheese sprinkled in a circle in the middle. It was pretty bland but at least it was hot. Eric R. seemed to like his hot pot because it was warming him up and apparently tasted okay. It came with bread which was interesting, and that was not ready when the bowls arrived at the table but it was brought out shortly thereafter. The minute he finished his bowl, we skeedaddled because it was so cold in there I had goose bumps. When a place is not comfortable and feels like a walk-in cooler, it indicates customers should not sit and have a relaxing meal. I do not see myself coming back here for any reason. read more

This is fast food cooked fresh. The service was quick and friendly. There are 3 menus: American, Asian and Mediterranean; about 6 dishes on each menu. There are two sizes of bowls, regular for $5.35 and small for $4.25. They have a few starters: dumplings w/ dipping sauce, ciabatta and flat breads. The pot stickers were ok, something you could get in the frozen section of your supermarket. but they did the job. The Japanese Pan noodles were also just ok. The noodles were overcooked and mushy while the broccoli and carrots were undercooked and still very crunchy. It was very busy and they handled the line well. Maybe when things slow down the food will get better. I really want to like this place, it would be nice to have a fast food option that is also fresh. I'll wait a while and try again. Typical chain restaurant but management is awesome. I had to wait a really long time and didn't make a fuss and they gave me a cookie for waiting patiently. They also gave me a free meal when I came in to order a meal and happened to mention my last order was messed up (but I still ate it) from 3 weeks ago. The person who took our order (she had purple hair) seemed quite frustrated and had to have us repeat our order three times. When she gave me my change she said the correct amount, but shorted me two dollars. After getting our drinks, we realized that every single table in the place that wasn't occupied hadn't been bussed, so we cleared our own table to sit at. The food came quickly after this, but only part of my order arrived. Fortunately, the man who brought our meals was quick to correct the discrepancy. After eating I found my receipt and saw that the discrepancy was because the cashier had not taken our order correct. While the food was good, it was not worth it because of the service. My friend and I live in the dorms on K-State campus and our dining hall was closed, so we had to go somewhere to eat even though it was snowing. When we walked in all of the chairs were stacked on the tables. They were trying to make us get our food to go. My friend went back up to ask for a soup and the employee was very rude to her. We received dirty looks the whole time and felt very unwelcome when we heard the manager in charge say, "there's a f***ing blizzard outside and you want Mac and cheese," to an employee named Katie. When another truck pulled up in the parking lot the manager rolled his eyes and shook his head. Surprised by the number of negative reviews.... my family and I very much enjoy going to THIS particular Noodles & Company. I think we have eaten there over 20 times in the past two years, so, yeah, we're fans.The menu selection is extensive, the management and staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, the restaurant is clean. It is *super* family friendly, and food is served on "real" dishes (as in, not disposable, yay!). It is a corporate chain, so, no it won't be THE BEST Pad Thai (but where can you find that outside of Thailand or a friend's kitchen, really?). We're fond of the Beef Stroganov, Mac & Cheese, Penne Rosa & Mediterranean salad....and the herbal Honest Tea is tasty, too. Additional bonus: no loud, distracting televisions!! There is a patio with large umbrellas, too. Again, service is good; food is freshly and quickly prepared; there is something for kids, carnivores, vegetarians, health-conscious folk, those who adore creamy cheesy sauces, and a nice selection of waters, teas, sodas, beer and wine to boot. (Top Secret: for dessert, try a Brownie Bite or a mini-cupcake from Billy Vanilly located next door. They are just small and sweet enough.....) I'm wondering if the negative reviews are based on the geographic location, as Manhattan's Noodles is located in a strip mall adjacent to a large parking lot as opposed to a chic shopping center or a pedestrian walking zone? I say this place is great if you're just wanting a quick bite for pasta. I have to say it's better than any of the Olive Gardens I've been to. The staff is friendly and the food is always warm. The store its self is fairly clean. It is on a bit more pricy side for college students so I recommend to the store to get a college student discount for Manhattan at least. But Other than that I'd recommend this place 8/10 to come to for a more affordable bowl of pasta. read more

I was impressed as this place was a fast food noodles restaurant. I was excited that they had Pad Thai at a reasonable price compared to the only Thai restaurant in Kansas (joking, I mean in Manhattan area). The flavor was fine, but was a bit watery and way more carrots and bean sprouts than noodles itself. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs which were a bit too tangy, but still satisfied him since they gave him a small when he ordered a regular and ended up getting two orders of small. I'd like to try other dishes, but it's not something I'd "crave" since they were pretty simple dishes you could possibly make yourself (e.g the American Menu). read more

I went to this place bc of recommendation from my coworkers and the reviews , This place was awesome, This is my first time eating here and I was highly impressed. When I was looking at the order board to choose what dish I wanted to try, the young man from the cash register came over to greet me, saying welcome to noodles & company, then he advised me the different combinations they serve, the cashier told me he had tried all the different combinations and explained to me the variety of flavors, he was very detailed oriented by asking , what kind of noodles i preferred and if I like hot and spicy. I eventually chose the Regular size Japanese pan Noodles with Marinated Steak. Let me say when I received my bowl, it was a huge portion, the smell was authentic and it taste fantastic. The Japanese Udon noodles the dish with steak compliments with the veggies and sauce. It taste bold, fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the Korean noodles. I asked for extra vegetables. The 1st dish they brought had just a few tiny shreds of red cabbage. No Napa cabbage at all. So I took it back. The 2cd bowl had a few tiny shredded pieces of Napa cabbage. ( you had to dig really hard to find them). Just a few a few spinach leaves. But I had a huge pile of cilantro. Girl kept telling me that was extra vegetables. Finally she asked if I wanted my money back. I said yes. She brought me my money and cleared my plate. I did have the Caesar salad. They were thin like crepes like they had been run over a few times, definitely nothing like an actual potsticker, or for that matter like the ones on the menu pictured. Came in with such high hopes as I love noodle restaurants (coming from Hawaii), but man was I really disappointed. This is a pretty place to get pasta. They have a variety of different types of noodles to choose from, as well as many different flavor mixtures. The Mac and cheese dishes are delicious and I also recommend the Korean Beef Noodles for those who enjoy spicy Asian pasta. The bowls are a little expensive for what you get. I need the large bowl to feel close to full, which is about $10. The portions also seem to be getting smaller. I still enjoy visiting the restaurant because the pasta is always flavorful and hot. read more

I went there about 1 week ago and haven't been there in 3 years. I order something that was okay I really like a lot of spice and I felt that particular dish lack it. I drop my card in the bowl and actually won. I went with 3 others for a sampler tasting last night. It was AWESOME. Not all the plates we had would I order again but I definite have a few dishes I would go back for. The Hummus to start with. Penne Rose if you like spicy, I do. BBQ Mac and Cheese please.
