vegan black garlic ramen
Aaliyah H.

I remember my first noods, and because the foods so good, I know I won't forget how good it is. If you didn't know, the first noods location is actually in Kaimuki, which is the first time I tried their ramen. So of course, I was in the area and I am a biiiig ramen lover, I had to try this location. I've tried an abundant of ramen from Noods, but my go-to is their vegan ramens because they have so many options and I could use a little vegan meal in my life every now and then (because of my acne). The ambiance may not be a restaurant, but it's ramen, you can't be asking for much, just good food and good place to enjoy. Since this location is in a food court, it's gotta have fast service, which it did. Service is also a lot more simple than the restaurant because over here you order in one area and then you have to pick it up at the other end when it's ready. The food court provides ample seating, but I suggest grabbing a seat first before ordering so that you get a table near the ramen bar and you don't have to walk far with a large bowl of ramen across a busy food court. Overall, the ramen(s) I've eaten here have lived up to the standard I expect from Noods, which is great. This means you don't have to go all the way to Kaimuki to get some good, quality ramen.

Yuzu Shio Ramen

Awesome service, the two gals were prompted and friendly. We got the Yuzu Shio and Black Garlic Miso, so much flavor in both of the broths, we appreciate the amount of noodles, the pork was soft thick and juicy too. So ONOLICIOUS, it's so much better than the other popular ramen place. The environment and seating area was nice and comfortable. We'll be back again. Thank you!

Fast turn around for delicious ramen. The price is fair considering it's in a mall. It hit all my expectations. The garlic gyoza was delicious as well!

One of the best meals of our trip. I thought we had good Ramen in Seattle but Noods was "onolicious!" We drove from Waikiki just to try it and it did not disappoint. The noodles were the perfect texture and the broth was "chef's kiss."

I've eaten at this Noods Ramen - in Windward Mall, Kaneohe - on just one previous occasion. I think I previously had the Vegan Shoyu Ramen...for takeaway. On ths afternoon, after the lunch rush, I picked up the Vegan Black Garlic Miso Ramen. Vegan ramen is quite good without being too bland or salty (though others may disagree)...a bane for anyone who has ever tried eating out vegan. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian and have had my fair share of vegan food. The Hakata style noodles - admit to preferring Futo style, thicker and more al dente - come with a rich black garlic and miso flavor. Garnished with corn, bamboo shoots, 2 nori sheets & choy sum/watercress(?).

Noods always hit the spot when I'm craving ramen! My most recent visit was during lunch (around 12:30pm) on a Friday. It was not busy so we got seated right away and our food was brought to us fairly quickly. They currently have lunch deals (dine-in only) where bowls of ramen are a reduced price! There are also other lunch specials - that day, you could get a side of fried rice and chicken for just $5. Highly recommend supporting this local business!

1st timeee Food was delicious especially the soup base, I got the spicy miso ramen! I needed more noodles with my ramen, it didn't feel like it was enough for me. Next time I'll order additional noods! Lol The service was fast since it was at a foods court. It was eye catching compared to the other ones in the food court.

Boring bland oily garlic fried rice

This review is for the fried rice only. And I don't know if the other locations have the same recipe but this was the worst garlic fried rice I have ever had at a Ramen spot. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be tasteless. It looked like brown rice that was sautéed in oil and black sesame seeds sprinkled on top. I took one scoop and that was enough. Good thing it was only $5. I would go back to try the ramen because the pictures and other reviews are good. Just pass on the fried rice.

A ramen place with multiple vegan options, amazing! We were planning to have lunch here after walking around Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden with a friend, but she couldn't make the lunch part, so it was just me and my husband. I got the vegan truffle shoyu ramen (I'm vegetarian with an egg allergy) and my omnivore husband chose the vegan yuzu shoyu ramen, and they were both delicious! They do a really good broth (both of the ones we got), and the bowl is a good size! They also use shiitake mushrooms, which I love (but my husband is not as crazy about), instead of regular button or cremini mushrooms. The location itself is inside of a mall food court (which we figured would be advantageous if our friend had come, since parking is fairly plentiful and we could stroll around the mall a bit after if we wanted). Seating was actually a bit difficult to find, probably because we were there on a weekend around lunch time, and food courts can be pretty noisy places compared to standalone restaurants, but it seems like a pretty good setup and the service was timely when we were there. I think I might try finding one of the standalone locations of I were to go again, but I honestly wouldn't be opposed to coming back for these noods!

Love that they have a dedicated vegan menu for ramen! They also have vegan side dishes. I'm looking forward to going back to try all their vegan option! Service was excellent, food prepared quickly and because of open seating and calm ambiance, we could take our time to talk and enjoy without feeling rushed.

Absolutely recommend!! Staff was friendly, the area was clean, and the menu was easy to read. Food came out fast and hot! Also it was delicious!!! Perfect amount of noodles but you can get extra if you want. For $15 the Creamy Garlic Shoyu Ramen is an absolute must!

This is one of my favorite ramen restaurant to eat at. Ramen have such a good flavor, I actually would drive here just to eat. Good good good service, very clean tables inside this food market. It's a must try

Located in Windward Mall. Different ramen broths to choose from, my all time favorite is tan tan and i've tried it at many different ramen restaurants. The tan tan ramen broth is flavorful for ramen at a food court. It was very tasty, the egg was delicious. Only downside that slipped my mind when reading the description of it on the menu is that it came with ground pork instead of the typical charsiu meat. Tonkotsu ramen was tasty, broth is flavorful and came with charsiu. The garlic chilli oil gyoza was alright, the gyoza was cold and the garlic was hard not crispy. I would just order regular gyoza next time.

It's never been too busy when I've gone since it's always midday, after lunch and before dinner. The service is quick and I've never had to wait long at all to get my food. I usually get the Katsu Curry, in which the portions are big and the chicken katsu always stays crispy.

There were fly traps hanging from the ceiling, which was quite unpleasant to see while trying to eat. Strangely, the staff was mopping the floor right next to occupied tables during a busy late-night rush. The menus also smelled like a dirty bathroom; I couldn't hold mine for more than a minute without gagging. While the staff was quick and the food came out fast, the kitchen was disorganized. They forgot our miso soup and brought out edamame instead of the menma (bamboo shoots) we ordered. We had the gomoku ramen, spicy beef ramen, gyoza, lemon tea, a side of menma, and shrimp tempura udon. The gyoza and lemon tea were delicious, but they couldn't outweigh the negatives. According to my family, two out of the three soups tasted like dish soap. We were too exhausted after work to send them back, but it was honestly gross. To top it off, the single-stall unisex bathroom had that same foul odor. I wouldn't recommend Daiichi Ramen. Serving 'dish soap soup' is unacceptable in food service. You're better off heading to the nearby Burger King or Safeway for late-night eats.

My cousin's two kids love this place and insisted it has the best fried rice. I'm usually not a big fried rice person, but I was curious and tried it. I can see why people like it. I ordered the shrimp katsu ramen with a shoyu egg. The broth and noodles were excellent and really the highlight of the dish. I wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp katsu on its own since it was a bit chewy, but once it soaked in the broth, it was much better. The portion size was just right, filling without being too much. Overall, a solid ramen spot, especially if you're already in Kailua.
