Service was super slow! For food that should for the most part be pre cooked and ready to serve, it takes a long ass time. Only two things on the menu are cooked to order, those are burgers and fries. From the time I ordered to the time I paid my tab and walked out was about an hour. Is the food worth the wait? Another place to cross off our to try list, located in Kaneohe. It's one way in and one way out the parking lot so make sure you turn in the right one. The one way in is also pretty tight to turn in to. I swear it looked like it had a drive through but you can actually call in your order, and drive up to the window and pickup your food. Preorders only! They do not have order at the window! It was very warm in there, and because there was a fan on, I assume the ac not working? Hope they get that fixed soon. I ordered a fatty brisket plate, the wife ordered the fatty brisket and lamb chop combo, and my father in law ordered the pulehu shortrib plate. For the price of the plates with the briskets, was either too pricey for the serving, or they coulda add more for the price. The pulehu serving, we all agreed is worth the price. The did hook us up with some fatty pieces tho. You should ask, unless you like lean lol (ain't nothing lean on this side lol) the wife expressed how she really liked the lamb. She likes her lamb chops, and she normally loves them from Texas de Brazil, but she said the lamb chop here was better, which I find surprising! So for all you lamb chop lovahz, go check em out guys. Whiskey Smoke 808 is the kind of local BBQ spot that has you planning your next visit before you leave. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and 20 minutes for our food, and it was worth it. The only downside was the AC being out, making it a little warm inside. Other than that, the service was fantastic. Our waitress went above and beyond, and I only wish I had gotten her name so I could recognize her. I ordered the two choice plate with brisket, BBQ chicken, BBQ baked beans, and potato mac salad. I was so ready to eat that I forgot to take pictures of everything because it smelled that good. The only photo I managed to get was the banana pudding. The brisket was moist and tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the chicken was flavorful, and the guava chili pepper sauce was incredible with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy (drizzle some into the potato mac). Definitely save room for the banana pudding. Our group spent about $100, and with enough leftovers for about six meals, it was an excellent value. I've been wanting to come in to Whiskey Smoke for awhile! I was happily surprised it was not that crowded, and that they still had brisket for the day when we walked in. Literally we ate everything on our plates with that in mind, we almost ate up our plate as well. The customer service was fantastic. Excellent plus they cater to our needs and then also some dietary restrictions that were easily adjusted. I ended up ordering the beautiful pulled pork nachos, which were fantastic made with an excellent brilliant taste and cheese sauce, which they make on site themselves and also utilizes it in the macaroni and cheese. I was more than pleased with this restaurant. Highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again when we visit the 808. This is a family run, small business, that's perfect for the area. Their barbecue is slow smoked for 16 hours, right on the premises. You can a their smokers at the back of the parking lot, going all day long. The interior it's clean and bright, and they do dine-in, take out, and deliver thru the usual services. The parking entrance is a bit tight, but can be negotiated, with lots of parking behind the bldg. Their menu is what you'd expect from a great BBQ place, with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and all the fixings. Service was good, and relatively fast. I ordered their brisket sandwich with fries and the bourbon BBQ sauce. It came on a soft bun, overflowing with meat, coleslaw, and sauce. You definitely need a lot of napkins, or a knife and fork (or both). The taste was meaty, smokey, and a bit tangy, from the combination of the sauce and slaw. Next time, (and there definitely will be a next time soon) I'd order the sauce on the side to dip as needed, and I'll definitely want to get one of their enormous plates of combo bbq. read more

Horrible service. Came with a party of 6, took at least 10 minutes for anyone to check in / give menus. Told them we were completely fine with splitting up our party to get seated sooner. At the time, there were 2 separate tables that could fit 2 each and another that was about to leave. Waited about 10 more minutes. Two parties of 2 and 4 came in AFTER us and got seated sooner. Even the party of 2 said "were they here first, we don't want to cut". After that, I asked if we could we could get seated but they said they needed to keep together in case we walked around/wanted to share plates. Whiskey smoke was donated today to a conference I was attending today at Windward community college and holy lawddddd blesss you all. Mac and cheese was perfect. Little cut up pieces of sausage was snappy and had the perfect amount of char on them. Ribs was beautifully smoked, brisket lovely, beans not too saucy or sweet. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. I ordered the combo with lamb, brisket, baked beans and Brussel sprouts. My husband ordered the combo with chicken, pork ribs, potato Mac and Mac & cheese. We also ordered a garlic fries. The portion size of the fries I thought was a little small for the price. My favorite was the lamb chops. It was perfectly cooked and had a nice smoky flavor from the grill. The brisket was okay but a little overcooked. As for the sides, the Brussels sprouts were great but I would not get the baked beans again. My husbands "potato Mac" also had no potatoes in it. You also get to choose one of their bbq sauces to go with your meal. I chose the spicy guava chili pepper which was okay but I do wish they had just a classic bbq. I think the portion sizes were good for the price. I would come here again but would probably just order a lamb chop plate with the Brussel sprouts and rice. Service was good. We got to Whiskey Smoke 808 on Sunday, late afternoon. The driveway to the parking in the back is narrow and one way, so slow down before taking the turn in. The back has a lot of parking for the amount of tables they have for dine in guests. The dine in tables aren't meant for large parties. The max I could see was 6 and the seats are bench like. We got 2 plates, brisket and pork ribs. Our sides were rice (x2), elote corn, and mac n cheese. We couldn't decide on which sauce to get so we got them all. They gave us just a fork and I can see why a knife was not needed. The meat was so moist and it just falls apart. I enjoyed the coffee bourbon sauce and, to my surprise, the guava chili pepper. We had been wanting to try this spot for a while, so when family came to visit from Texas, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity. We made the drive from town excited to finally give it a try. The food itself was actually pretty good. The brisket had great flavor, although about half of our pound serving was unfortunately just fat. The ribs were delicious, and the mac and cheese was definitely a standout. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. Our waitress got our order wrong a few times and a waiter that wasn't even helping us (brown hair and a beard) made us feel incredibly uncomfortable throughout our visit. He repeatedly glared at our table, shook his head, and gave us what felt like dirty looks. It created an awkward atmosphere that made it difficult to enjoy our meal. Overall, the service was disappointing from start to finish. Would I recommend it? If you're local to the area, yes--the food is worth trying. We tried whiskey smoke for the first time tonight and as soon as we got out of the car you could tell this place would be good. We ordered "the menu" which was just described to have "a fuck ton of meat" so we started with that for our party of 6 not knowing if it would be enough but it definitely was a fuck ton. It comes with 4 sides so we got the mac and cheese, baked beans, elote corn, and rice and they were all good but nothing too special. The meat on the other hand was all amazing- it came with pork ribs, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and chicken. The brisket was probably the best, super juicy and melted in your mouth. All the other meats were great too, all super smoky and tender. It also came with all 4 of their bbq sauces which were all pretty good, the guava and lilikoi sauces were definitely fruity which I thought was weird when I tried it on its own but actually went really well on the meat. This was our first time here. The restaurant was empty but filled up pretty quick. Servers were friendly and helped us out with the menu. They took our orders from our table. We shared a beef brisket and pulled pork combo with coleslaw and potato salad with lilikoi bbq sauce. Also got tres leches and banana pudding dessert. Food came out fast. We enjoyed the food here but once the rush came in we were largely forgotten about. The staff apologized about it so that's good to me. We came in with maybe 3 or 4 tables used but eventually it got so packed that people were waiting outside before getting tables. I revisited Whiskey Smoke 808 in Kāne'ohe to give it another shot, and despite a mix-up with my order, it turned out to be a happy accident. I ended up trying both the pulled pork and brisket -- and both were solid choices. The meat was tender, and you could really taste the deep, smoky flavor that sets good BBQ apart. While they did get the sauce flavor wrong too, the quality of the smoked meats made up for it. It's a casual spot with potential, especially if you're craving barbecue on the Windward side. Being from Texas, I'm pretty particular about BBQ -- from the cut of the meat, to the binders and even the type of wood used. With that lens, this was solid, decent BBQ, though not quite a destination stop for us. After seeing a few commercials, We drove over from Kapolei, just to try this. While I wouldn't make a special trip just for this, if we found ourselves on this side of town another day and craving BBQ, I'd stop in again. The brisket was flavorful with the right amount of fat. I didn't find myself separating fat from meat, which is always a good sign. They mentioned they season with just salt and pepper, and honestly, that's probably all it needed for a small-production smokehouse. The smoked chicken was a standout -- better than most I've had, even back in Texas. Moist, not dry, and a nice smoke flavor throughout. The coffee bourbon BBQ sauce was different and interesting, though not necessarily my favorite. The BBQ smoked beans itself was decent and leaned more on the tangy side. In my opinion, the flavors would benefit from incorporating burnt ends to add depth and balance. The coleslaw was good -- not overly vinegary and thankfully light on the sugar. Overall, it wasn't bad and felt closer to being authentic than other BBQ spots around the island. With a few tweaks, this could be a really strong BBQ choice. read more
