I enjoyed the Bossman burger with chips and sweet tea. It was very juicy and had a real nice amount of bacon (to the owner don't ever skimp on that - it really made your burger stand out. I could have enjoys a little more chips with my meal. Maybe the cook had smaller hands. But it was still a decent plate. As the the bride - she had the club sandwich and was extremely happy with the size and taste of it. I really don't think the pictures do it justice. She also had a decent amount of their fries, which I stole a few and were very good. It's a nice place that apparently has local talent/musicians come in and play. The bar area, even though i didn't try looked decent. As for service. Sorry can't remember the servers name. However, she served us very well and in fact we watched her serve all the tables in there this afternoon. I think she did a great job. We literally meant to go next door to the Mexican Restaurant but went in the wrong door! Why did we stay? The place next door was closed! Plus Hubby wanted a beer and we had to use the restroom during our travels. "Big mistake! Huge!" As Julia Robert's from Pretty Woman would say! But there was nothing pretty about this place. Trash runneth over and the floors were filthy! Ugh! Nuff said!! There were a few tables outside, but from there you can smell the refinery/paper mill which assaults the olfactory receptors ! P-U, stinky... which may come from the word PUtrid?? You etymologists let me know! So basically you're damned if you sit inside or out! Hemingway, despite the 4 TVs, the drinks specials, the tiki bar in the back (which looks haunted) , the party atmosphere becomes deflated and overshadowed by the dank and grody environment and the horrific service, or should I say, lack thereof. That said, service was great, it was obvious they were working as best they could to assure everyone was getting what they needed, and that orders were acceptable. Bartender even gave me a sample of their delicious red back sauce, which has a decent amount of heat for a restaurant sauce..... We need to make a point to add this place to our regular rotation of restaurants, they really work hard to deliver great food and great service, even though they are quite short staffed! Thé menu wasn't huge, but they had a section of ' summer grilled' options...pork, chicken, brisket,.....that Im sure would all be delicious! And a smaller menu is a good thing IMO, as they can concentrate on making the food they do offer delicious! If you go here, give the workers a break and understand the situation they're in. If you don't get waited on Immediately, know this has become all too prevalent everywhere these days; and most often, slow service isn't a result of slack workers....definitely not here!
