Our motorcycle group meets monthly at Damon's and we have dinner before the meeting. Our regular server, Lauren, is exceptional. She remembers everything and is always smiling. When Lauren is unavailable, we always get another friendly server. They all do a great job. One night recently we arrived as usual, and due to some miscommunication, no server had been assigned to our room. A very brave young lady took us on while also taking care of the main seating area near the bar. She took it all in stride and took good care of us. The food is always cooked as we ask, drink refills are prompt, and the kitchen makes sure my food doesn't touch. Damon's is everything I could ask for. read more

Do NOT come here around 11:30am. Came in to try this place out and was told if we wanted to wait for lunch menu to wait 30 minutes. That was no problem. Then at 12pm another lady came by and said lunch won't be served until 12:30. Left the place hungry. Poor service! read more

On 20 September 2025, my sister and I enjoyed a hearty breakfast at Damon Sports Bar and Grill, Gloucester, VA. When you walk in you are right in the dining room area. Not sure what to do, see ourselves, wait, leave. But then someone came from the back (kitchen area) and invited us to sit wherever we wanted and that she would bring g us some menus. I ordered the western omelette with a side of scrapple and my sister ordered sausage, potatoes, and toast. The food was delicious. Our server was welcoming and friendly! I would eat Damon's again if I'm in that part in VA again. Might go in the evening to check out the bar. read more

This little gem is fantastic! It's a small quaint diner with a welcoming atmosphere to all who enter the door. The quality of the food was above my expectations. We've been here 8-10 times (we live nearby). Usually we come for lunch, when it's very slow, but we know it gets super busy in the evenings with their bar. We go to the dining area (we don't drink) so the ambience is that of an old fashioned dining place. Service is a little spotty, but if you get the right combo of server and kitchen stuff, this place is hard to beat. Sadly we had faulty experiences in the last three visits, so we are giving it a break for a few weeks so they can get their act together again :) I'm writing this in January 2026, the last few visits were in November and December 2025. read more

Checking out the area and heard this was a great outdoor spot with games and craft beer selection! Definitely seems like a go-to weekend spot for locals and travelers alike, although not as busy as I'd expect for Monday Night Football. There is a great outdoors space when it's nice out with TV's, cornhole, and hangout areas. The food was good and hit the spot. The quality was on-par with generic bar apps and dinner, but I see Damon's more as a craft beer pub. read more

Yelp to the rescue again! We were recently at the Daffodil Festival in Gloucester, and we were hankering for brunch... the restaurants on Main Street were congested so I went to my trusty Yelp app! It lead me to Damon's, a cool little diner a couple miles away. Cockadoodle doooo... it's something to crow about! This is the kind of restaurant I love, a local, low key diner that serves up good old-fashioned comfort food! It wasn't crowded and we grabbed a cozy booth. Our server was pleasant and welcoming with a side of humor! We ordered some country breakfasts, my hubby chose the corned beef hash, eggs and fried potatoes... he loved every morsel! My brother got a breakfast biscuit, fresh and fluffy filled with eggs and country ham! My Fee chose her eggs scrambled and she always manages to get iced coffee along with about 5 other beverages! I got the fried eggs, Va. ham with grits and rye toast with hot tea... mmmm, hit the spot! It was not only satisfying and flavorful, but the price was cheep cheep!! The décor is retro, a kind of 80's, early American vibe, dim lighting, lots of wood. The wait staff is on it! I saw the servers constantly prepping tables, filling condiments, and cleaning! The bar has a very fun vibe with an extensive beer menu, but the food pales in comparison. Hubby ordered a blackened chicken sandwich with curly fries, while I ordered the "grilled or fried shrimp salad." Hubby's sandwich was really tasty, but the meal took a turn once he found a gray hair under his fries. When we pointed it out to the young waitress, she walked off with the offending item, only to return and report that it was part of the scrub-brush. Does that matter? It's not edible! No apologies, no offer to reduce the cost of the meal, nothing. Only "We don't think it's a hair." WTH? As far as salads are concerned, they had 4 choices: garden salad, Caesar, Chef Salad, and the "Grilled or Fried Shrimp Salad." I opted for the last one. When it was brought out, the base was nearly all iceberg lettuce. It had 4 slices of tomato and cucumber respectively, as well as 5 of the dinkiest shrimp I've ever seen. The waitress told me I'd need to "stir" the Italian dressing I had requested. I poured the dressing on the salad, only to realize that it was almost all oil. Blech. Very disappointing. While it may be a great place for drinks, I'd suggest eating elsewhere. read more

Worse experience ever. Driven past often thought would try something different for breakfast. . First off was told to have a seat, took 10 minutes for anyone to come take a drink order. Once waitress showed up she tells us that she is having an off day and hopes we can change that. Takes our order then two other tables, we got our food last. Ordered orange juice only to have it come out with chocolate lip stains on the rim. Scrapple was under cooked and eggs were as well. Was told to order crispy next time, don't worry. Super busy. the place was large enough to hold everyone however it was very evident that there was not enough staff to support a full restaurant. the waitress was very nice. didn't know of any specials in place for us which we were told. oh well. was going to cancel our order but was told it was almost ready after over an hour. other tables that ordered after us was receiving food. over half our table switched it to to-go. when the food came was not correct. all corrected though. the burger that I got was average. not a great experience. I really like this local pub and stop in as often as I can for a quick coolie and a bite. The food is well proportioned, dam tasty and priced very reasonably. There's ample parking for your ride no matter how many wheels and the patio is right there near a lot specifically for motorcycles. You can eye your ride while enjoying live entertainment in the evening and everyone likes that. The waitresses are all adorable and work their arses off to keep your belly and drinks full. Loved the venue lots to do came to DJ Big-E Diceman. The staff was a bit wishy washy. The security at the door was impressive he stood his ground when collecting drinks at the end of the night and was vigilant of all the patrons. Another one shorter didn't pay attention to anything. He would sit on his phone talking. He would just yell instead of gathering drinks. Bartenders were ok Amy was my favorite. The waitress are bleh but food is great. Came here on a Thursday morning for breakfast. Due to COVID 19 seating was every other table. Luckily a couple was leaving and the waitress quickly cleaned the booth and we were able to sit at a booth. Waitress was friendly. Interior of the restaurant can use some upgrades, kinda reminded me of an outdated 70's diner. They do have a separate area towards the back which is open later on the day for lunch and dinner. The bar is also its own separate area which is open until 2am. I used the restrooms and that was neatly kept and clean! I ordered a mimosas but they weren't able to make it they had ran out of champagne. I ordered Half tea and lemonade drink instead and they were out of Lemonade. I finally settled for a sprite. Breakfast menu was your typical breakfast items. The prices however are extremely cheap!!! I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and my boyfriend had the steak, potato cube, toast and 4 eggs over medium. A lot of food and pajd only $20!!!!! The taste of the food was actually better than what I expected and the service was quick! Apparently they have homemade crab cakes on the menu for lunch and dinner. We stumbled across Damon's almost a year ago. Thought the restaurant side was a little drab but had dinner and thought the food and service was worth it. We left thru the bar side and it was poppin'! We are older than the normal crowd so we thought we'd try back a little earlier next time. Damon's is now our "go to" spot. We usually eat before evening festivities begin - we are out by 6-7, and we love the bar side. Shrimp, both fried and steamed are always cooked perfectly. My husband is a steak and cheese guy and usually gets that with fries or onion rings. The staff has pretty much been the same and are always on point - same staff is a good sign. Restaurant/restrooms always clean which is a great sign if you've ever worked in the business. As soon as we leave Richmond to head to the river, I start thinking about the jalapeño poppers - we often go there first before going to the river to put our stuff away Very diverse crowd - everyone has a place here is what it feels like to me. Being completely honest, I was a little skeptical hearing about this place because they have a wide variety of cuisine choices but they did not disappoint! The crab cake was average size and you only get 1 but definitely more crab than batter which is always a plus. Also the baked potato was amazing, it was cooked just right! There are two sides to Damons....pick wisely. You can go to the Sports Bar or sit in the restaurant. There is a sign on the door if you are in the sports bar, that you can't bring alcoholic beverages or smoke in the restaurant. If you want the G/PG rating sit in the restaurant...it's so quiet that it feels like a library. The sports bar is loud and lively where the locals hang out, and smoking is allowed. Service is pretty good, and the pub grub not too bad...we did get a forewarning that if we were looking forward to having BBQ that we were going to be disappointed because they were out...no biggy. read more

We had my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary Surprise Party at Damon's yesterday. The facility behind the restaurant was great. We had about 30 guest and it was perfect. The staff was awesome. We arrived early to decorate and they went above and beyond on helping getting everything just right. The food and drinks were top notch. I was down In the area to work for a couple of days and I don't like chain restaurants so I was recommended this place by someone that lives here. When I first walked in I thought to myself well this isn't something to brag about but we stayed and the waitress was friendly and our food took awhile to come out but the wait was definitely worth it.
