This is my second or third time going to this hotel area this watch it was really amazing time. I went up this time with about 30 of my family. We had a fantastic long weekend went to several different places did some good bike runs around the area checked out Polly's pancake parlor one morning. We went over to a brewery over in Vermont. Some of us went to Ben & Jerry's. We all went to Cabot creamery it was just cool. One of our members Curtis always finds cool things to do. They always manage to get just the right amount of fun stuff packed since the weekend we could hit one day where it was raining on Saturday, but a bunch of of us got together and had card games in the pool, pool house and had snacks and everything. We had a good time went by vast sometimes I wish it was longer, but sometimes it's just the right amount of time, but this lodge is just amazing. They're right on top of everything. There's nothing you want. They're always able to give you whatever you need. It is close to a Walmart which unfortunately they're not as nice as the people at the lodge. I had also left something there. Call back a couple of days later if they had found it and they even held onto it so I got some friends to go pick it up for me and like how many people do that they don't even find what you're looking for. But really good people great service enjoy going there every year I mean, even if we don't go there again I'll still take it as a long weekend with my honey and some family members and go ourselves cause it really is a good time. read more

A great lodging option in the area if you need more space when traveling....stayed in a 2br option that had a full kitchen and two additional areas with beds and TVS. Recently updated. Very good game room and hot tub adds additional space for traveling party---especially kids! Numerous restaurants nearby and great access to roads that get you into the white mountains easily. read more

Very nice! Trisha who staffs the front desk is extremely competent and personable. The reservation was made as I hurtled up the highway from Boston without a glitch. Upon arrival I was impressed by the impeccable communication condition of the grounds and the Rustic Lodge exterior. The log cabin theme was carried through the lobby and the AAA Diamond ratings were not missed by me. Upon arrival I was advised I was booked into a simple basic room as requested. I was offered an upgrade and declined. My room was simple, and it was camp themed, exactly what I wanted. The bathroom appeared newly renovated. It was spotlessly clean. The Internet is free, cell service in this area is notoriously sketchy. The TV was new with a crystal clear screen. The room comes with a microwave and refrigerator. Excellent. read more

Absolutely love this place! Had to make a delivery the next town up and decided to drop my trailer at the job site and bobtail back to here for the weekend. Enough room for a bobtail semi and the accommodations are perfect. Very lodge like feel and very very clean. I've been in big chain motels that weren't this clean. Hot tub,game room with a pool table, air hockey and foosball table was more than enough to keep you busy. Being winter time the swimming pool was not an option as it is out side. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance in under a half mile and Walmart across the street. Winter storm came through and they definitely keep you plowed out so you can get going. Family ran and very friendly! Gonna come back in the summer and spend more time here. read more

It was a decent stay until my day of check out, I left my gold chain in the restroom and forgot about it and checked out, I remembered 2 hours later and went back to the hotel to pick it, house keeping was there and I thought "great! They must've found it" I ask both housekeeping ladies (an older white woman and a young black woman) and coincidentally neither women saw it. I went to the front desk and let them know of the incident and was met with a less than helpful front desk attendant who told me "unfortunately there's nothing we can do, both of those housekeepers have been with us a long time and we don't believe they'd steal" So moral of the story, don't forget your jewelry here or they'll steal it from you. read more

The power went out in the area and we needed a peaceful place to stay for a few nights. This place was snuggled in the corners of the woods off the main route. Well, I really liked this place! It was a 2 bedroom connecting suite with kitchenette. It was cozy, comfortable, and immaculately clean. The linens smelled fresh and the covers and towels were soft against my skin, which is significantly important to me. The room service was very efficient, prompt, and they aimed to please. They had pots, pans, and dishes already stocked for us to use. It was like a little cabin nestled right off the highway. The atmosphere was quaint and quiet, which we really appreciated. The decor is rustic, but so aren't the woods of New Hampshire. The shower pressure was AH-MAZING!!! I probably stayed in the shower for at least 20 minutes, I found myself daydreaming! Needless to say we will definitely be back and will recommend to others. read more

I may lower my review but the Christmas lights hanging from the buildings tonight were festive and cute. I'm currently on my first nights stay of a two night weekend. There are people above us who are practicing for the next royal rumble. It's super annoying that I can hear every syllable they utter and I have a newborn to worry about all night. I hope my baby wakes everyone up repeatedly. The room is fine if you are ok with sleeping in pine closets. It's clean but tiny and the bathroom is literally built for little 1960s people. I'm serious, I have heard people were smaller back then. Please don't come here. There are better options. Basically any option. If you sleep in your car you will get more sleep as you won't have wrestling matches going on above your head. This place is terrible. I'm sure the people above me are now arguing... I'm in for a long, sleepless night in a hard, uncomfortable bed. read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! My husband is a lineman and was told to stay on standby during a storm in the area. Some of the other men from his company were staying there during the week already. On standby they all hung out in the parking lot until they were given their orders for what was to come. As the night progressed he was told to get a room as he would be there until further notice. He booked a room and not even 20mins later - he was still at his truck, was called by his superior that they power company wanted a partial grouping of the crew to relocate. My husband went down to ask for a refund as he didn't even enter the room, he wouldn't be using it and was leaving. The woman whom wasn't a manager but at the desk that night, was absolutely RUDE and unprofessional - unhelpful and unkind. My husband walked away frustrated and got in his truck having wasted $140 only to have to drive now to Keene. I called, after he called me upset and tried to reason with this wretched woman, whom was exceptionally rude to me - my trying to explain to her it's already a rough night as it was my anniversary and my husband being gone made this even more upsetting, but her telling me "he got the card, how do I know he didn't use the room?" Just made me SO mad. He didn't even have the key in his hands for a half hour, he was at his truck securing materials and was called to relocate, use the room???? She hung up on me after I asked when a manager would be around to talk to!!!!!! I called back three times and no one ever called me back!!!! DISGUSTED by how the staff handled this night and the lack of follow up! I will NEVER go there and will definitely spread the word for my traveling folks that this place is to be avoided at all costs due to the lack of customer service and respect for utility construction workers - whom we're up over 24hours working a storm, only to be treated less than dog feces on the bottom of a boot!!!!!!!! ATROCIOUS location!!!!!!! read more

We only stayed for about 12 hours, but we were so pleased, I just had to leave a review. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the room was perfectly clean, and there was just a nice overall vibe to the place. We'll definitely stay again the next time we hike the White Mountains. read more

Stayed here 2 nights visiting family. It's a cool looking place but there are some major issues. The beds are tiny. I'm 6 ft tall and my feet hang off. The walls are paper thin so you can hear people arguing and partying thru the walls. Also the windows need to be sealed. Cold air rushes thru them. I think this place should charge like $29 a night. That's all it's worth. read more

First of all, let me say that we love the Nootka Lodge. But we will not come back on Labor Day weekend. There is a local softball tournament that draws teams from all parts of New England. I'm sure that some of them are respectful and are not trying to disturb everyone else trying to have a relaxing weekend. Then there are the others. Partying late into the night, monopolizing all of the amenities. Oh and did I mention the noise? The "neighbors" we have right now keep their door open (2 feet from our door) so they can stand right outside and chain smoke, while their children scream and climb all over everything. We were told that softball teams were going to be banned from the property due to past issues with parties getting way out of hand. I guess a few dozen slipped through the cracks. Any time except Labor Day weekend we will have no problem staying at the Nootka. Sorry to say this weekend was ruined. read more

Whenever I come to northern NH, this is the place I stay. The jacuzzi tubs in the rooms are deep and sensual. You and a partner could swim laps in those things! The game room is always fun. Two pool tables, a Foosball table, and air hockey. There were discounts offered when we went skiing. We got day passes to Bretton Woods midweek for $10! I also found the beds to be comfy and the heater in my room worked fine. ( other review complained) Overall great place. Close to all the mountains and friendly and accomdating staff. Great place! During out transition to the area, the nootka was 'home' for a bit and loved the place. Great log feel, room was always clean and bed sheets fresh. Great proximity to restuarants and shopping....and if your snowmobiling, they are right on a trail that brings you out to Corridor 5.....worth the stay...during the summer, they have the pool, hot tub and in the fall, well, you couldn't ask for a better place to stay for the foliage runs! It looks gorgeous! Staff is friendly and helpful as well. read more

Love the Nootka! I've stayed there every year for the past eight years and have always been pleased with our rooms and the service. Rooms vary in size and price but are all, in my opinion, reasonably priced, especially given that there aren't many other lodging options in the area. In fact, the closest other place, the All Seasons Motel, is also run by the same people who own the Nootka. We've stayed at the All Seasons too and found that it is a slightly less expensive and less cozy but still very safe and comfortable option than the Nootka, but the Nootka is slightly more convenient for us personally so it's our choice. The Nootka has pet friendly rooms and we have brought our small dog for the past few years. There are plenty of grassy areas to let pets outside. The pet rooms do not smell of other animals, unlike other places we've stayed, and all of the rooms we've stayed in have always been very clean and fresh, especially now that the entire hotel is non-smoking. There is a pool for the summer months, not heated but clean, and a game room and indoor jacuzzi spa. There's also a small room beside the office with an ice machine and tea and coffee in the mornings, nothing fancy but decent. There's a Rite Aid next door to the Nootka and you can walk to across the parking lots without going anywhere near the street. There's also a diner right across the street and a Walmart and a Shaw's grocery store further down the street toward Woodsville. Staff at the Nootka have always been very nice to us, too.
