Easy access from Rt 93. This is a quiet location, which is good. A basic motel/inn. Room #8, had sufficient heating and a good shower with plenty of hot water. 2 bedside lights, one of which didn't work. One standard light which also didn't work, so with 2 out of 3 bulbs in the room not working, it was somewhat disappointing. read more

Eastgate Inn is a safe, clean, and convenient place to stay in the beautiful White Mountains region of New Hampshire. My husband and I were traveling with another couple, and we got two separate rooms at $95 per room on a Sunday night. I found the bed uncomfortable and tossed and turned all night. I was surprised when the first thing our traveling companions said in the morning was "what a nice comfortable bed! We got the best night's sleep!" The room had great air conditioning which is very important to me! It also had a large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and flatscreen TV with tons of channels. The bathrooms was small with 1960s tiling, but it was 100% clean. The rural area was silent at night and in the a.m. I enjoyed sitting with a cup of (really good!) coffee in the shade in front of our room and looking out at the green hills. In the breakfast room we met a senior citizen couple who have been vacationing yearly here for 25 years! They told us the new owners have steadily been upgrading the furniture, decor, and landscaping, and that this motel is getting better all the time! I would definitely stay here again. read more

we were over charged for a double bed room because it was the October festival, the rooms are extremely plain, I got bit by something in the bed, I wanted a hot bath, the bathroom smelled like mold. it took forever to get hot water and I was taking a bath I laid down and all I could see was black mold on the underneath, from where they tried to cock a line, I was not impressed I will never stay there again. check in time is not until 3:00pm and check out is 10:00am? My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights recently. We were xc skiing in the area, and the location was perfect. The room was very clean and had all needed amenities. Not fancy, but everything we needed and the king bed was very comfy! I cannot say enough about the friendliness, courtesy, and helpfulness of the staff! I want to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt, but I really can't. To start, here are the facts of my experience in the hopes that they can assist anyone down the road. I do not deny any technical faults on my end. However, the haste and difficulty of working with the hotel to come to an adequate compromise, and then the hasty - attitude driven discussion really left a bad taste in my mouth. I originally requested this hotel via Hotels.com with knowledge of the 1 day cancellation period. Friends of mine decided to join me for a weekend of hiking up in the Whites. Unfortunately, a major winter storm was slated to hit the area. We bumped up our reservations by one day. Mothernature then, unfortunately, decided to bump up her timetable by 12 hours, effectively putting us in a bind. We're driving up from Philadelphia (an 8 hour drive). We took off to make the trip up Friday. We did a last second weather check Friday morning and came to the conclusion that the weather was just not conducive to what we were trying to accomplish - including wind chills around -20 to -30 with an estimated foot+ of snowfall over the heart of our trip. I knew we could have Saturday canceled without hassle as it was still a full day away - allowing for free cancellation. We're not quitters, but for an 8 hour drive that kind of weather seemed a bit excessive. I know the whites, I've been there many times in the winter. But really if the temperature was just a bit more palatable, we would have had no problem. Friday was a bit of a gray area. We didn't see a point in taking the room for that night. So I called up to see if we could have that waved. Predictably, the Hotel refused to wave the reservation. That wasn't a shock as it's their right to do so. However, I proposed a very logical and workable/profitable compromise for both parties in allow us to carry the day for use at a later date. The Hotel flat out refused to entertain that. Then the Hotel offered a corresponding compromise, that if they could fit the vacancy they would not charge me. I would have preferred carrying the rain-check for the room, but seeing as that wasn't going to happen, I had no choice but to take it. I called up 8 hours later to confirm our conversation and avoid any random surprises. Not only was the man at the desk irritated that I called him (for the second time ever), but he seemed to have no problem voiding the terms of our earlier agreement. For the latter reasons, I felt compelled to write this review. I'm very disappointed in the blatant unprofessionalism exhibited by this hotel. It's not a matter of me receiving my money, but the inability to negotiate, and then the recoiling of a later agreement really make me question the ethics of this establishment. read more

As a good value basic motel with friendly service, Eastgate gets 5 stars in my book. This was one of the cheapest options in Littleton NH, convenient to the White Mountains/ Franconia /Mt. Washington. Located across the street from a great food co-op and technically it's possible to walk into the town of Littleton. A long downhill /uphill walk. It's an old(1950's?) motel with a great design - parking and entrance to each room is in the back, leaving the front open and green. The room has two doors - the back door from parking and the front opens to a small patio with two chairs so you can enjoy sitting outside. Even though the view includes a road, it's pretty and not loud. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny, but it was clean and had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The sheets were clean, the pillows were firm, and the heater/AC worked well. The mattress was comfortable. We didn't come to sit in the room so the small size didn't matter. Btw: The shower was warm each day, unlike the other reviewer's experience. I will stay here again when I'm visiting the area. read more

This place is pretty simple to rate: Pros: 1. Clean room and premises all around. 2. Large TV with HBO and other movie channels included. 3. Breakfast included. Cons: 1. Breakfast - if you think five different kinds of carb-based options is breakfast - this is fine for you. The breakfast is honestly very thin in options and low quality. I opted to eat elsewhere. 2. Wifi did not reach our room (does work in lobby). 3. We reserved room for three adults and only received two towels. If they fixed breakfast and wifi I'd say go for it. read more

The staff was very nice and accommodating. We had a coupon we found in the room saver magazine. You can pick this up at the tourist information centers. The cost of the room was about $70. I was very surprised that they had free wi-fi and a continental breakfast. This is an older hotel and it does show it's age, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They did not have a non-smoking room available so the room we rented did have a smell. I gave it 3 stars simply because it is an older motel. I would stay there again. read more

Our room at Eastgate had large paint flakes peeling off the walls, carpet extremely filthy and stained, windows that don't open, rusty metal panels, black growth in shower, lamp shade looked like someone used it for a football, tiny outdated bathroom, no aarp discount, strong cheap deodorizer smell, $10 per night surcharge for a dog, lame continental breakfast etc... Our out of town friends were staying here and the manager stressed seriously that we couldn't park in the lot, we agreed and said yeah we weren't going to park here. Our friends were going to stay here and he also said we couldn't stay with them and we knew that obviously also we were just visiting ( he was rude already). We followed our friends to their room to see where'd they'd be so they could follow us around town in their car. The manager proceeded to call the cops saying we lied and we were going to park there and SCREAMED at my boyfriend it was scary. We are very quiet and polite people, my boyfriend is a very well mannered and quiet person so I was livid and then told the cops what really happened and that the manager screamed at my boyfriend when he was just tying to tell him that we weren't lying or staying like he said. Our friends got their stuff and proceeded to go to the nice Hampton inn great place slightly more expensive but worth it!!!! We are younger people early 20's and it seemed like from the get go when we greeted or friends in the lobby he already didn't like us and said we couldn't stay with our friends and we already knew that, we know how motels and hotels work, he said we couldn't park there we said yes we were using free parking in town we knew what we were doing. This is a very unprofessional business (unless the management has recently changed). I had such a bad experience that I feel compelled to write a review. When you book the hotel, they tell you to arrive by a certain time. I was running late past that time, so I called several times but no one picked up the phone. I thought they don't allow check ins after the time (10:00 p.m. when I booked a while back) they said to arrive by. So I booked another place as it was getting late night. The first thing in the morning I called them and requested to not charge me. It is not about the refusal to not charge me, it is about the very rude attitude of the person who kept on interrupting me with lines like "why didn't you show up", when I said, because it was late night, no one was answering the phone when I called to tell that I was late and I was worried I won't have a place to stay, I got this reply "the hotel is there, it will not go anywhere". I tried to reason that their web site said to arrive by 10:00 p.m., I was running late and was worried I won't be able to check in and won't have a place to stay. That is not just my opinion, I had booked through a 3rd party (like the internet booking web sites) and I called them. The 3rd party tried to reason with the Eastgate Inn person and had this to tell me "Sir, I am sorry, the guy was rude, kept on interrupting me, didn't let me finish". I was not upset about not getting the refund but at the way they treat the customers. Since then I have travelled to that area many times and if they had been just customer friendly, they would have got my business so many times. But they chose to be that way for the room charge for just one day. read more

Traveled to NH with our dogs but our plans for their care fell through so we had them with us. Since I saw the pet policy posted and didn't want to be charged extra, we went to Walmart, bought a heater and the dogs were comfortable staying in the car. Upon leaving, I drop off they keycard and ask about any charges, nothing. We get a couple of miles down the road and the hotel owner calls me screaming! "You had dogs in room!" I try to explain we had the dogs in the car and they never went in the room. I get about 3 words out and he hangs up on me! I call back trying to explain and promising we didn't break the rules. He is just screaming, says "nothing in this world is free!" and hangs up on me again! We drive back to talk to him and I check my online banking which shows he's charged me an extra $170+. When we get there He's in our room screaming and carrying on about how there is dog hair. My husband tells him we have dog hair on our clothes but the guy won't hear it. Husband follows him towards the office. The owner turns and says "you follow me, I shoot you." Husband got in the car and called the cops. The cops were great but said it's our word against his. I had to cancel my debit card and open a fraudulent charge case with my bank. Glad it wasn't worse but what a huge hassle when we did nothing wrong!! I just read another review where he threatened another customer so this guy is to be avoided!!! read more

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS! Don't stay here! While the room looked clean, when we went to bed we were bitten by bedbugs. We went to discuss the problem with Kalpesh, the motel owner, and he told us that we must have brought them with us because he has pest control in every month. Hmmm. Let's see. If you don't have bedbugs, WHY do you have pest control come every month? He was very rude and we left at 10pm and had to find another place to stay. Kalpesh didn't apologize or try to help us in any way and would not give us a refund. We had been there all of two hours. read more

Eastgate is a great place to stay. It is very clean and comfortable. Management is excellent, I highly recommend staying here. It is very close to town, and anything you need management is right there to help you out. I stayed here with my husband several times during our move from NY to NH (interview process, house hunting etc) and it was a great place to call home temporarily. read more

For the night life we visited the Woodstock inn brewery about a 20 minute drive south on I93. Live entertainment on weekends.
