Red curry with shrimp and pyramid jasmine rice
    Tina M.

Noot's is heaven and hell bundled into one. On one hand the Thai curries and other dishes are amazing and the staff is courteous and caring. On the other hand, those peppers are so spicy that over 24 hours after eating my red curry, my insides are still dealing with the aftermath of a nuclear explosion. I'm used to spicy, being a fan of all things tex-mex, but oh boy it's been a long time since I've felt like I've been cursed by a dish. I'm still giving Noot five stars because it's not their fault that I'm weak and can't handle my spice. I believe last night was my third time there. I always depart with a happy memory, longing for more. Dishes are tasty, filling and full of fresh vegetables and flavors. I'm a big fan. If only I lived closer, I'd subject myself to this type of culinary torture more often, alas since Victoria is over an hour away I'll have to bid my time until the next trip in the area. Surely that will give enough time for my digestive tract to rebuild...

Have been here several times. Pretty much whenever in Victoria I come here to enjoy a delicious dish with great service. Have tried several different items and all have been great!

    Pad see eu
    Shawna D.

The reno looks good. Ambiance was nice. Service was okay. Sever was super nice but slightly scattered. The food is made fresh so the wait is a while but that's fine. The fried chicken spring rolls were good. Not enough dipping sauce for 4 rolls, though. Fried rice for a kid was okay but pretty flavorless. Texture was nice. Garlic fried rice was very one note. No green or anything fresh in it or on top. Pad see eu w/ chicken was the bad part. It was very sweet & very salty. The noodles were cut short & difficult to eat. They also were not the wide noodles I was expecting. I couldn't finish it. I ate as much as I could as I was hungry but my tongue started tingling due to how salty it was. I was not expecting it to be so incredibly sweet and that salty. It was not pleasant at all.

Chicken Phad Thai with a Texas twist i.e. green beans and Zucchini

The chicken satay with two sauces was a very good starter. I had the panang curry med spice, which was great. Definitely wouldn't order anything hotter. My wife had chicken had thai that she liked, but I thought it was weird as I have never seen that dish served with Zucchini green beans, and broccoli. It wasn't like she ordered a vegetarian phad thai.

fried tofu: solid, not too many pieces of tofu

a thai gem in victoria. for 5 people we ordered the perfect amount of food: - fried tofu appetizer: delicious! love the dipping sauce, just wish it the quantity was more. came out piping hot, be careful! - pad kee mao + pad thai: pad kee mao was more enjoyable between the two but unfortunately both of the noodle dishes were quite salty. have definitely had better. pad thai was also more sour, less sweet. - green curry (comes with rice): really can't go wrong. i'm biased towards green curry and really enjoyed this dish - crazy fish (comes with rice): this was our waiters suggestion and ended up being our favorite dish this afternoon. the fish was so buttery and i really enjoyed the crispy batter of the fish. tasted very nice with the fresh sauce (strong fish sauce flavor). - mango sticky rice: we decided to treat ourselves and ordered this item after confirming with the waiter that the mangos were in season and wow the mango was deliciously ripe. i remember trying this dish many years ago and the mango was a bit hard and tart so i'm happy to have had a better experience with this dish this time.

    Happy Birthday dessert.

Best place in Victoria for Thai food. My favorite restaurant. Try the panang curry, glass noodles, fried rice, and sticky rice with mango

I only tried this place for convenience since it's right next to the medical supply place I shopped at. The inside is small with a handful of tables. The hostess assumed I was there to pickup an order but I corrected her that I had planned to dine in. Her response was, "oh yeah. You can do that too." The menu had a lot of choices. Too many choices. And I didn't see any combination plates. I was in a bit of a hurry so I ordered the General Tso's chicken because it was a familiar dish to me. The hostess was also my waitress and took my order. She asked what soup and rice I wanted. I didn't realize my meal also came with this. I ordered white rice and I asked what were my soup options. Hot and sour, egg drop and wonton. I chose the wonton. Now, I don't really like these soups, but out of the three, wonton is my least revolting. For the last 20 years the only Chinese restaurant I've eaten at is the buffet on Navarro. So that's the wonton soup I'm used to. When she brought me my cup of soup I noticed it had a chunk of cabbage as well as wontons in it. "Nice touch," I thought. Then I tasted it. Wow!! The cabbage was still firm. Fresh. And the broth was delicious. Not chicken bouillon broth as I expected. Then the wontons... wow! I've never had a wonton this high quality before. Everything about it was delicious and obviously fresh. Soon after, my General Tso's plate arrived. There was enough food to feed my family on that plate. And there were so many veggies with the chicken. Fresh, firm broccoli, bell peppers, scallions, and I believe cayenne peppers. I accidentally bit into one of the peppers and my mouth was immediately on fire!! The sauce was a deep dark red and full of flavor. The perfect blend of spicy and sweet. More on the spicy and less on the sweet. Every bite was delicious. I couldn't eat it all because there was too much food. I asked the waitress for a to-go container. I definitely wasn't going to leave these left overs behind! When she brought me my styrofoam container I told her that this was the absolute best General Tso's I've ever had. She admitted that she herself won't eat Chinese food anywhere else in town.
