Alejandro Rios was my service advisor, and he was amazing from start to finish. I brought my car in for a faulty EV charger, and Alejandro made the whole process easy. He gave me several next day appointment options, which made scheduling convenient, and I ended up taking a 7:45 AM (on a Thursday) appointment. Everything moved quickly, and I was done and out by 11 AM. What really stood out was the level of service. Alejandro arranged a loaner vehicle (that was arguably nicer than my car haha) for me even though I did not ask for one or necessarily need it, which I really appreciated. They also provided a digital video inspection before pickup, which was a nice touch and made the process feel transparent and thorough. On top of that, my car was washed before it was returned. Overall, I am very pleased with the experience. Alejandro provided excellent service, communication, and care, and I would definitely return to this dealership again.

The location is a bit difficult to find, as the check-in parking area is in the basement with only a small sign outside. That said, they completed my 30,000-mile service in about five hours. They also provided complimentary Lyft drop-off and pick-up, which was very convenient.

I just purchased my new 2026 Honda CRV from Honda of Oakland, and need to share my experience…read more Because of an unfortunate accident which totaled my 2014 Honda CRV, I had the daunting task of finding my next vehicle: still wanting a Honda, looking at certified pre-owned, where to look these days: CarVana, CarMax, etc. not really wanting to go to any dealership to haggle with anyone. After doing a lot of research, and crunching numbers, the decision went a different way than anticipated: to buy a brand new 2026 Honda CRV! My approach became simple: find the specific car I wanted, email 15 Honda dealerships in/around the Bay Area letting them know I am ready to purchase this vehicle today, and request them to only respond by email: a written quote with their best out the door price, informing them I will be contacting several dealerships. Responses starting pretty quickly. Some sent quotes, some ask to call them to chat more, this made it easy to narrow down who I would be doing business with. But it wasn't until I received an email form Hocine Sekouchi at Honda of Oakland that directed my attention to this dealership. He sent the information I requested and followed up with a "personalized video" he made for me, asking that he can help me get that new Honda 2026 CRV today, when I am ready. There was something about this I found was truly charming, and down-to-earth. After a couple of more emails with Hocine sharing the quotes I had received, we got to the right price for me. I told him I am on my way to Honda of Oakland to seal the deal! Being from Oakland, it was nice to be able to support a local business. Hocine was one of the nicest, and genuinely kind people to deal with. No haggling, no hassels, just know what the customer wants, and let's get through all the paperwork and get my new car! When I was there, I had realized that the color of the CRV was red, and wanted anything else but that color! Right away, Hocine found me a meteorite gray CRV which was perfect, and still kept to the original, written out-the- door price he quoted. Moving through this purchasing process, Noel in financing was just as nice, very thorough and clearly explained any and all questions I might have had. Knowing all this, takes some time and patience, both Hocine and Noel stayed later than normal to make sure all documents were in proper order. My dream car had arrived at the dealership a couple of days later. Hocine came in on his day off, walked me through some of the new features in the CRV, and in 5 minutes, I drove off the lot with my beautiful 2026 Honda CRV. It's from this effortless and most comfortable experience, that I would highly recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from Honda of Oakland and speak with Hocine and Noel. They will take good care of you for sure!

I really hate this place…read more I hate that they never itemize their maintenance suggestions. They just give you a long list of recommendations with a HUGE total cost, and hope you're so overwhelmed, that you blindly say yes to everything. Last time I went in, they said a tail light was out. I told them I was going to buy the part from them and change the light myself. What did they do? They let me purchase the part, but they also changed the light bulb and charged me for it without telling me, of course. When I realized what they had done, I went back to return the part I no longer needed a week later, and when they pulled up my receipt, it showed I had paid for the maintenance, but there wasn't a receipt for the part I purchased, so the person at the desk refused to let me return it. I had to go find the guy who had worked with me the week prior and jog his memory so he could walk over and speak to the parts dealer himself on my behalf. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. They also harass you via phone to get you to schedule maintenance all the time. Go somewhere else people, it's not worth it. Edit to add that they didn't put my front bumper, and the plate that goes underneath it, back together correctly, which made the plate drag over any slight unevenness in the road, likely in the hopes that I'd come back and spend more money.

Fun times.... I was afraid of my car being towed so I wouldn't just leave it. So after 2 days of hell and then roadside paying for 2 days in a hotel, I make it to this place. I understand with all wheel drive you need to change all 4 tires etc... I am a single woman, barely making it and I can't afford a repair or expense like that on the fly. The guy with the grey hair that sits at the computers in the service shop told me $900.00- and like I said, I get it, and Subaru can only do things their way, but this guy wouldn't even lift a finger to help me explore other options. Now I know about a little program called Sunbit- they pay your bill and you pay them. A loan of sorts... HE DID NOT EVEN MENTION IT OR SUGGEST IT TO ME. I couldn't even apply for that, and then I went back to my 3 wheeled car in a panic, not knowing what to do, I tried to make phone calls to get some funds, the shop closed and I have no where to go, a car I can't drive, and a 10 month old puppy with me- in Oakland. This neighborhood wasn't the best but wasn't the worst, however I am a woman in my car over night alone in Oakland. Huge safety issue. They did not care one bit. Now I understand they have a business to run, but Subaru in Santa Cruz would have never let that fly. I don't have family in California, I barely have friends. No one has $900 just kicking around for my tires and I had over a week until I got paid. So after sitting overnight, the grey haired guy came out and told me and my 3 wheeled car - if I dint pay 900 for all 4 tires, I had to leave. I pulled out on to the street where I sat in my car, STRANDED, for 4 more days until I could find someone to help me with just one tire. Sleeping in your car on the street in Oakland is not advised- I wonder if this guy has daughters. They really put me in danger for not replacing one tire which is what I could only afford at the time. Fast forward:2 weeks later. I needed scheduled maintenance on my car, so against my better judgement, I scheduled with them. I bought my car in Santa Cruz, and I got free oil changes with them. I don't know it was a specific dealership deal, but I wasn't offered that at this facility. I went into the lobby because I wasn't sure what to do and I sat down, the same rude guy who treated me like trash because of my inability to pay for 4 tires came out and scolded me for sitting in the lobby and no one was at the desk- I moved my car into the service area and an employee was complaint about another customer to the manager in the back and he expressed to the employee how miffed he was at him for something- right in front of me. True display of unprofessional conduct all the way around for this Subaru dealership. He told me it would be almost $300 for the service I get for free in Santa Cruz. I got in my car and left. Never again. Don't go here. They are miserable arrogant jerks who have no true desire to help anyone. I don't want them touching my car. When I got the car it was my belief that Subaru was a wonderful, customer oriented company all the way around. It's not. Just Santa Cruz. This place doesn't give a crap about its customers. Better off going to an independent garage than this place. If I could give it 0 stars I would. They don't even deserve 1.
