Honestly really wanted to love this place because of all the good reviews and how close it was to…read moremy place. TLDR: came for digital perm and it didn't work. Came a second time and also didn't work. She blamed my hair and I wasted $200 to basically just get my hair completely damaged with 0 curl and be thrown shade by this lady. I made an appointment for a digital perm and was excited to get my hair done. The lady was nice enough but as she was curling my hair in the rolls, commented (borderline complained) on how much hair I had and how much chemicals she had to use. At the end, lets me know that my hair has a tendency to not curl and the perm will only last me 2-3 months compared to other people which would last 5-6 months. She gave me tips on how to style for volume and how to take care of it, including how I shouldn't blow dry and instead only towel dry. I was excited to see results and tipped $40 on top of $160 service. I walk out with my hair still very damp and get home to see that it's basically completely straight. So it didn't even last 1 hour, much less 2-3 months. I gave her a call to let her know that it was basically a failure asked if she could redo for me next month as I am headed out of town. She said ok, come in and I will redo. Due to scheduling issues, I had to push my appointment 1 hour later than I had planned, but I let her know a week ahead of time. I come in and thank her for having me, but she kept being passive aggressive talking about how her other clients there will have to wait extra because of me. Which wouldn't be an issue if she knew how to do a proper digital perm, and I wouldn't have had to come in a second time!! Anyway, she does my hair again but comments again at how much hair I have and how she has to use soo much ingredients or whatever to accommodate. At the end, she lets me know that if the curls don't come out properly, it's because of my hair type. No apologies or anything, just passive aggressive comments with lots of awkward silences. Also, if my hair isn't the type to "work" with a digital perm, isn't it a professional's job to let me know BEFORE the service that it may not yield the results I am seeking? Note: I have gotten a digital perm years ago and it came out perfectly fine at another salon???? I have a picture of how it ended up the 1st time (same day as perm) 2nd time (same day as perand what I had shown her I wanted.

She listens to what I'm looking for and asks all the right questions. They are super easy to book (online) and have fair prices. I was open to a solid full color if matching my current color wasn't possible and perhaps a trim. When I called for an Anthony mentioned in reviews, I was told he's no longer here but the other ladies are experienced. I booked an appointment and came in over the weekend. I'll admit letting someone new do anything to my hair is nerve wrecking. I ended up spending 3 hours here and paid for a laundry list of services (color, partial highlight, low lights, toner, cut, blow dry). I was shocked when it was time to pay, $350 + tip totaling nearly $400. I haven't had highlights or low lights since high school! Maybe it's a thing here, I'm just not personally into it. I really like to keep things as natural as possible and don't like putting bleach or anything along those lines in my hair. I got home and cried to my best friend trying to explain I had stripes in my hair now and they look orange. My hair is naturally curly and not a lot of people know how to blow dry or flat iron my hair properly. I felt horrible that I was charged for a blow dry because as soon as I got home I immediately got in the shower to wash all of the product out of my hair, that was put in, in an effort to blow dry it. It wasn't sectioned and blow dried or flat ironed and it felt like a mess. It was also trimmed after this, so now that I've blow dried it and flat ironed it out there is a questionable section that appears to need to be trimmed. I typically get a dry cut after a Brazilian blow out so my hair is completely straight for it. I really wanted a Brazilian blow out until I found out that would be $350! I could have flown home to my girl in LA for my roots, and a Brazilian for less than this. Call me crazy but no hair appointment should be over $800. The girl who does my color, cut and Brazilian would loose her marbles if I told her this. All in all this just isn't a style or look I like or would want to pay to keep up. I feel like as soon as I need my roots done, it would be so obvious that I needed more stripes or whatever all of this is called vs just a solid root color. I'd hate to immediately go pay for a solid color to be put over the $400 service I just paid for but at the same time it doesn't feel like me at all. Although subtle enough (which again, why did this cost so much?!?) that most may not notice, I know that I never have this done to my hair. I saw a bunch of clients coming in which is great for them but this salon isn't going to be the one for me as often as my hair grows the price for services is just outrageous compared to what I'm used to paying. I like the solid dark brown sections and I'm completely confused as to how I had all of this excess going on when I specifically booked a root touch up or solid color and trim. Sometimes you feel a bit taken advantage of when things like this happen.

I highly recommend Hairology!…read more May has brought my hair from dark, to blonde, to back to dark, to ashy blonde, and so on and so forth. She is honest and never pushes my hair to the point where it becomes damaged. I always leave extremely satisfied and with my hair still feeling healthy, no matter how many times she bleaches it. I am, however, guilty for putting a lot of heat on my hair, and she is always happy to recommend treatments and products to get my hair back to feeling silky soft. She does a beautiful job of blending on my balayage highlights. I posted the most recent pictures of my hair to show how amazing it looks daily, without it being professionally styled, and without salon lighting.

It's such…read morea relieving feeling that she remembers my tastes in hair style, my maintenance requirements (the less fuss, the better), and the quirks of my own hair's texture (e.g. super fine, flat Asian hair). Earlier this year I asked for some reddish balayage for the first time in my life, and we bounced a few ideas back and forth after showing her some instagram/pinterest pics. A few months later, the color looks even better! She somehow planned the perfect transition as my hair grew out, along with picking the right tone of color so it faded beautifully over time. Maybe I'll try something more daring next time... I asked May to do my wedding hair last year, along with some basic updos for my bridesmaids. I appreciated how organized and professional she is, yet still casual. When she told me she had gotten her own salon this year, I was so excited to have a more peaceful, intimate setting vs. a larger salon with several stylists hustling around. The hubby just made an appointment with her, as well, since his hipster-do is getting out of control. Can't wait to see her magic on his hair!
