Crosspost of my Google review of my firsthand experience of renting a motorcycle from there, and just how blown away I was by the overall experience. tl;dr -- local area intimidated total beginner squid had a very good overall first experience renting a moto and getting on the road for real As a brand new rider fresh off my M1 endorsement, I came in more nervous than I'd like to admit. Nini at the front desk was absolutely perfect for the job imo: compassionate, reassuring, and exactly what a first-timer needs before throwing a leg over a bike for the first time for real. Freddie and Henry were great too, really easy dudes to talk to and very helpful with sharing tips and other pointers for me. I'll be honest, I dropped the bike an equal number of times on both sides over the weekend, all at zero mph (embarassing af). Symmetrically bruised ego, perfectly balanced. Returning it felt intimidating, but the whole team handled it with zero judgment and genuine professionalism. I didn't try to hide anything and they made the whole process painless, albeit with some monetary penalties caused by my inexperience (I own up to this though). I'm leaving with my wallet lighter but with my heart genuinely fuller for the experience. The environment this shop creates for nervous beginners like me is genuinely rare, and it made me feel supported and motivated to come back and do better next time. Will absolutely be back for my next rental and keep getting ride time in, because real experience gained like I did is priceless. I got my brand new 2024 ZX6R Dyno Tuned and got 32 horsepower on the high-end of my revs. they were friendly and informative. overall the bike feels much better and smoother compared to the jerkiness it had before when engine breaking, and on the high-end of my revs when i was previously expecting it to start slowing down it just kept going and in a very smooth controlled manner as well. Went and brought my tires and wheels to be installed at the shop. Turns out my "new" tires that i purchased before the pandemic were just at the cusp of getting old for safety standards. They suggested that I get new tires instead of an old tire which will need to be replaced not soon after. So, they got me a new deal on new tires and had them installed not more than a few days later and their pricing is very competitive. I have always brought my bikes in the city to get serviced and such, now I know where to go in the peninsula! Needless to say, I would recommend Nor-Cal Cycles to anyone I know. Brought my ecu for a flashed so I could run a full exhaust and it slowly became a nightmare, staff was friendly at first but bike did not act up right after being flashed and felt like bike could not get passed certain rpm and did not feel safe, was told to bring it for a free tune and this happened 3 or more times by this I don't think staff wanted to deal with me but I did not feel safe after bike started to act up, the tunner said that it could be a bad file at the end I feel you guys just wanted me to go away and offer me my money back, I had to talk to the gm and told them to set computer to oem and re-flash it, bikes no longer acts up so I guess I was right and the wrong file musta been uploaded, bike now feels underpowered but at least I feel safe on it. I'm sure they offer a great service when they actually want to get work done but I guess yesterday wasn't one of their best days. My boyfriend's motorcycle popped on the freeway from a nail so we looked around at the best place he can go to get it fixed and ended up here. Unfortunately they didn't have the tire he needed, apparently neither did they have the equipment to patch the hole from the nail. They told my boyfriend his options so he went and patched the hole himself which took him quite a while and they had offered to fill the tire with air after. It's probably about 30-40 minutes before closing and my boyfriend had managed to patch the tire himself and asked if they could fill it with air, they said yes until they realized the whole tire needed to be realigned. What really got me upset was they would've rather left us stranded instead of helping out their last 40 minutes of their shift. They acted like it would've been a lot of work to realign it when really it was only about a 20-30 minute job. Told my boyfriend to call a tow and just smoked cigarettes outside those last 40 minutes of their shift, started packing up their tools the last 10 minutes of their shift and headed out. Not sure what kind of day they had yesterday but seemed really inhumane to not even offer any type of help. Hope you guys can fix that in terms of customer service considering my boyfriend was willing to pay however much needed for the fix. Also hope the company doesn't bother replying to this trying to justify the bad service yesterday. We can both take our losses from this experience, I hope you guys can work towards some improvements in that aspect of your job considering any career having to do with motorcycle service is damn near a dead end job in this economy. I would do all my best to keep it good if I was in any of your shoes and cared about my business. read more

Quite a few early generation, Honda, VFR 800 have charging system problems. Not only will components fail, but quite often the amperage will go high enough to melt, harnesses, connectors, and wires. That was the problem with my interceptor. Normally I work on my own stuff, but this would be a big project and just diagnosing. The problem would require a higher level of expertise. I took it to Alfie over at NorCal Motorcycle's and not only did. They diagnose the problem instantly, but were able to locate some hard to find parts and get it done for what I thought was a fair and reasonable amount of money. I would highly recommend these guys to work on your motorcycle. They've been in business for a long time and the shop seems to be very well run and reputable. My brother brought his 2019 GSX-R 750 over here and Freddie took really good care of us. We've known him for quite a few years now and he's always been a good guy. I recently has some issues with my 2018 GSX-S 1000 and I found out that Alfie knows my bike very well because that's what he rides. He wrote me up a great deal for the full service, new tires, front brakes, new sprocket and chain and she is running like she's brand new again with 30,000 miles on her ... these guys do great work. They are definitely reasonably priced, and I'm looking forward to bringing my 1994 Harley FLSTN over here so I can start riding more next year ... I suspected this to be an electrical issue and they warned me that electrical troubleshooting is expensive (Totally understandable). I was referred to NCC by Andy at Werkshop, and I am very glad that happened. Alfie is amazing! I emailed the Service department on Thursday, got a reply back within an hour, and scheduled an appointment for Saturday. I recently bought a bike and it came with low tread tires. I'm a new rider so I also asked for a safety inspection. Alfie received my bike with no hassle first thing upon opening. He kept open communication with me via phone, email, and when I didn't pick up, left a detailed voicemail. This made me feel very comfortable and I really appreciate the clear communication he had. He broke down things he noticed about the motorcycle I need to pay attention to and provided inputs prior to making any service decisions. Busy with bikes and provides good communication? Love how they find the time for it! The bike was done in a morning and I got a call to pick up early afternoon. When I arrived, he greeted me in his friendly manner and also described what he inspected on the bike. He also provided a lot of safety recommendations and made sure I understood the upcoming services needed for the bike. The detailed explanations he gave really shows how much he cares about riders and their motorcycles, and I really appreciate this type of service. I can tell he loves his job.
