Mikes got me out of a couple jams and also helped engineer my 98 FXDWG to be the baddest one around, maybe even while Bay Area. Only pre 2000 Wide Glide with 13 Spoke Mags. If you want good work, honest prices and a local spot, look no further then Grumpy's. Also little upset and annoyed that this other reviews are bashing a solid dude. Brought my 2015 Dyna Street Bob in for repairs and couldn't be happier. My signals were being drained from a faulty break switch and I had no back lights. Mike went over my whole bike, fixed the problem, flushed the brakes and my bike rides like it's brand new. Such a reasonable price I thought there was a mistake! Worst shop i'ver ever dealt with. Took 10 months to fix and gave an excuse at every corner. Kept wanting more money and charged my insurance for work he did not do. I will tell my story, you make your decision. I took my bike to have tires and bearings installed. Also I had a red light on, on the speedometer that needed to be looked into . When the work was complete I picked up the bike, I took a test ride and noticed that my Mufflers were loose and my ABS light was on. I took the bike back and the muffler's were tightened. After further discussions, in regards to the red light, they said they needed to order a new antenna, and that would be somewhere around $500. In regards to the ABS light, they came to the conclusion that they damaged the wheel sensor and was going to order a new one. After doing further research online in regards to the red light on my speedometer, I figured out that all I needed was a new brake light, so I went to Harley purchased one (5 bucks) and installed it (problem fixed). I then returned back to the grumps to further discuss the ABS issue. We went out in the parking lot to look at the bike, at that time I had noticed that the entire front axle assembly was never tightened and it was loose. " yes, I was riding around on a bike under extremely unsafe conditions". They went into their shop and grabbed a crescent wrench and tightened it in the parking lot. I asked if that should be torqued, they replied it was tight enough "it's a big crescent wrench". So I took the bike home and torqued the front axle to spec along with every other Bolt that was touched oh, by the way everything was loose. After they got the new ABS sensor, I took the bike in and had it installed, that did not fix the ABS issue. So they removed the new sensor put the old sensor back on and installed a new Abs bearing thinking that the bearing was faulty. This did not fix the issue. At this point I was quite frustrated and decided to take the bike to Harley-Davidson. After the mechanic looked at the bike for a couple minutes he said that the bearing was installed backwards, so he took the bearing out and propery installed a new bearing and the problem was fixed. During the time the bike was in Harley, they told me that whoever installed the back tire left my drive belt too loose. Harley did not want to send me out with my drive belt loose, so they tightened it to the proper tension. While the bike was in the shop, I also had them torque every Nut and Bolt that was touched by Grumps. In conclusion, the reason I selected Grumps in the first place is because I like to support local business. I would highly recommend that you look at other options to have your bike repaired. This company put me in a highly dangerous situation that could have easily killed or injured me. Everything they did to my bike was unsatisfactory, extremely unsafe, half completed and very sloppy work at best. Their knowledge and resources are extremely poor. read more

Grumpy's Motorcycle shop has been amazing with helping a fellow biker out(me), and Mike did a great job at installing a new clutch in my bike as well as going out of his way to help me find a bolt for my engine mount that was missing, which he did not have to do especially since he is a busy man. Not only did he install a new screaming eagle clutch kit, but he also went above and beyond by letting me know that he would want to check out how it is breaking in after about 100 miles and that he would take off the case and adjust the clutch the right way so that I don't go through another clutch. I think that this was a very nice thing for him to do for me, and what I like most about going to Grumpy's Motorcycle shop is that my bike always comes back fixed the right way and no half ass job is ever done. Mike also helped me a while back with my front suspension. He put some new springs in it and some different oil so in my Sportster and to this day I've never had a saggy front end and I no longer spark when going into a turn sharp. I have read some of the negative reviews and can only say that I disagree and that Mike is a nice man that knows his stuff. Mike isn't a man just trying to run up cost if he points something out that needs fixing, he simply wants to help out fellow riders so that they can ride longer and safer and have a bike that will last them a much longer time. You can pay an arm and a leg ad DP but Mike is going to do the job in my opinion better and he has never let me down. He is very fair with pricing and you really can't beat it. I would bring my bike to Mike at Grumpy's Motorcycle Repair if anything were to go wrong, or if you have a question about any weird noises/abnormal things going wrong with your Harley. What I like is that he always emphasizes safety which is so important. Thank you Mike and everyone at Grumpy's for the help and even guidance to be a better and safer rider. This guy is a crook. I took my bike to him for a oil pump and some leaks. Took months. Cost me like 3,000. I was told that gaskets were replaced on my rockers. It was a lie. My custom rockets have a plate that cover the shafts plugs on side of rockers he said he put new plugs and gaskets. Come to find out my cover plates have no gaskets he used adhesive to try and stop the leak from my shafts plugs. The plugs were worn-out and just bad. I paid 35 fir a new set of 4 replaced the my self and it took me only 1 hour to work on it. I went for a ride and no leaks. This guy got me good o and I took the bike to him 3 times for same problem and he never fixed it. By the way I drove to the bay are to his shop all the way from Los banos. I'm looking into law suit. As a long time friend of mikes, i had all the trust in him as a trusting brother, i lent mike 10k over two years ago, it was suppose to be paid back the next month, its been two years with only 4500.00 paid back the first year and nothing since.He has completely blown me off, doesn't answer the phone nothing, and when i do get that chance to talk, its nothing but excuses, I've even offered to take payments, nothing.What a friend. Ive even had work done on my bike during the loan period and paid for the repairs never even considered taking it off what he owed me.This was money i had saved for a rainy day, but in trust lent it to mike, my family has suffered, i had to borrow money for a family emergency and lied to my wife about what i did with the money. A friend? i don't know anymore, tis is the only way that i know how to communicate due to him not even taking care of this trusted loan.
